Zaku took a breath, a lot more used to the teleports now that he was aware of them. Stepping out as shoved his hands in his pockets and looked around. "So, I guess we check places she frequented..." he commented mostly to himself. "Libraries, coffee shops, maybe that girl's home... the hospital.." he offered the last one up with a frown then shook his head of the idea. Looking back at Tri, he waited to see what he would do.

Tri reformed as the last whisp of shadows faded back to where they came from. The respite between the climates was a short one as heat help compound the tiredness he felt after a long teleport. Glancing at Zaku he sighed and shook his head. "The coffee shop she worked at and if not, her friend's house" he muttered trying to orient himself, doubting she would be at a library after what she wrote or any other place other than with someone.
Silently he took wing and waited.

Zephyr had left not long after he had gotten the message, sending one to Mise as well saying that he was taking a trip and should hopefully be back by the end of the night. The only clue that he had to go on was home - their home more than likely - the coffee shop that he had opened and they both worked at - the shop that also had their small apartment above it.
Letting out a sigh as he stepped out of the shadows a couple of blocks further away from the shop, he started to make his way towards the ruined rubble of what was the shop known as 'Espresso Yourself'. It was partially quarantined off, mostly to keep people from messing up anything, but the embers had died down from the week he had been away. As he looked at what had once been his home with her, Zephyr bit his bottom lip and walked closer to the police tape.
"We only had it for a short amount of time..but it was still our home.." he whispered.

Zaku nodded in agreement and took to the air using levitation. Moving into town after Tri, they made their way toward the coffee shop Hexxis had been at. As they got closer, Zaku mentally cursed as he recognized a familiar purple-haired Meta down by the police tape that surrounded the burned down cafe. This was not going to be good. And it would likely be too much to ask that Tri didn't notice.

//purple hair..// at the thought his heart speed up as he moved closer, remembering a text from Mara through wizard mentioning Hexxis had short hair hair though why he wasn't able to glean. Moving closer he realized he was wrong, not the right height, wrong shade of purple, wrong skin color and wrong shape.
This wasn't Hexxis but he knew who it was...he seen his pictures enough times and the one and only time to burn the image into his mind. Silently he back wing and pointed a finger at Zeph, adjusting his aim after so many hours and days of sniper shooting he was pretty good at it now. The tip of his finger glowed with a hint of light before it disappeared as he sent it out like a gunshot to Zeph's heart from the back, feeling only hatred.( Cold light:finger shot: 27 ))

Ducking under the police tape, he carefully started to walk through the rubble of his destroyed shop and home, a distressed look on his face as he listened to the crunching of wood, glass, and ceramic under foot. "I just wanted to have a semi-normal life, was that too much to ask for?" he whispered to himself, kneeling down to rummage through the rubble of where the kitchen would have been in the apartment.
As he knelt down, his back to the sky, he was oblivious to the surprise attack. As the shot through his back and sunk into his body, Zephyr let out a pained noise, quickly grasping at his chest and looking around as his breathing picked up. Looking around, he slowly started to look up, and only then did he se the figures - but he couldn't tell who they were at this distance. "Hey - this was my property before the fire, I'm allowed to go through it! I have an ID for it and everything." Zephyr stated, worrying that someone had sent some sort of police or security after him.

There was a flicker of alarm as Tri suddenly shot at Zephyr. "What are you-..." he grabbed Tri's arm, unable to stop the first shot, but trying to stop any further attacks. "The last thing we need is people to not only notice us, but notice us together... Are you crazy??" Zaku hissed in panic. He was mentally facepalming. Good God was this man absolutely the worst at being covert. "Maybe he knows where she is... Or we leave. Now is not the time for revenge."

"He doesn't " he hissed attempting to shove Zaku's away from him, turning his attention to Zeph again. Zeph was injured and talking, damn he missed the heart if he was still talking. He flew a little closer and stopped, Zaku's words barely getting through to him, he wasn't in the best condition after teleporting so far and lacked any boost his artifacts could give him.
Losing Hexxis and everything that had happened afterwards were Zeph's fault and he wanted to remedy that right away before it got worse. Finding her after three weeks with him, Kae's capture....Kae's -torture-, the useless piece of crap who couldn't even help Hexxis, then what ever else he "taught" her, making her go behind his back, it all made him sick...what the hell was he thinking telling her to go with him? Pushing her away and hoping she broke it off. It didn't work he just sent her to be manipulated even more.
It was a struggle to backwing and lower his hand as he turned to glare hatefully at Zaku, wondering why the hell the muse thought that he would be willing to talk to the person he just aimed to kill. Zeph...he had gone to Zaku. They had worked together.
"Not now, but later...you tell him, text him or even call him. I will turn you in without regret " he growled, sending his own shadow to follow the merc, not caring if anyone saw them. (Shadow manipulation ).He had not expected Zeph to be anywhere near the place and had only hoped to garner some clues on where Hexxis might have gone from people in the area. Now he was trying to fly away, shaking with fury as he tried not to turn back and continue the attack.

Still clutching at his chest, he continued to squint at the two up in the air, but as one flew off, he moved to start looking through the rubble. He hadn't bothered with coming back sooner because of the amount of police that were on the scene, making it much more difficult for him. Shuffling through, he muttered to himself, "See this is why I don't really keep physical copies in a home - this is why I never really settled down.... I get too attached to a spot and mourn the loss of it as if it were a loved one..." he sighed as he knelt down and picked up a ring or two - nothing fancy, just simple bands that were scorched and slightly warped.

Zaku narrowed his eyes at Tri. "If you think I'm not pissed about all this, you're very mistaken. I just know how to control my anger enough not to draw attention to myself when the government's are looking me. So you can stop being accusatory." he retorted bluntly. Zaku turned to look down at Zephyr judgingly, he did not seem happy about what was going on. Shaking his head as Zephyr didn't exactly seem phased only defending what was left of the coffee shop they owned.
Zaku moved some ways away as he lowered down. Sighing in distress, it was like babysitting a newbie in covert operations all over again. To the point Zaku was beginning to question his training altogether. "You have a lot better accuracy than the last time I saw you shoot...well, anything..." he raised an eyebrow before sighing again and shaking his head.

"You, I was shooting you. Near point blank range. " he turned his head toward Zaku looking vivid. "I shouldn't have missed, unless you made yourself a little lucky which is what I assume now" angry that he was being complimented on something that he was not horrible at before. "That is neither here or now. You're angry and you have control. Congrats " He said not lowering from the sky, not having the time or patience to babysit Zaku as he just kept flying heading away from Zeph as fast as he could.

Once the two flew off, Zephyr let out a soft sigh and put the ring on his finger before circling the rubble, having trying to buy time to see if he had gotten there before Hexxis, but she seemed to be nowhere in sight. Running a hand through his hair, he decided to check another nearby local of hers, or at least another personage of hers.
Lorelei street.
Exiting the once-was location of his shop and home, he made his way to the street corner where Lorelei Heart had once played her songs, hoping to hear the sweet voice yet again.

Zaku quirked an eyebrow at the comment of shooting him. "Yeah, that never seems to work for anyone. But kuddos for trying though." he commented with a wave of his hand. This wasn't exactly important. "Sometimes I'm lucky, and sometimes I draw the worst possible hand. Who knows most days..." he muttered under his breath, "Let's just go to Amelia's apartment and figure it out." he commented, already moving toward the house they'd been to before.

"You.. came back?" a young voice called out as a young boy with red hair and amber eyes stared up at Zephyr with a curious look. "Mom said you were going away for a while..." he commented and blinked. There was a certain glimmer in his eyes as he smiled, "Does this mean you and Lorelei are back now??" he asked excitedly.

Tri cast him an angry look before flying faster hoping the air and wind will keep Zaku's words away. Interesting that he guessed he was going to Amelia's apartment but at the same time it was one of the few places they did go to earlier.
A bit later he hovered over the apartment complex Amelia lives as he pulled out his phone and looked up the library times, to make sure she wasn't there. Ignoring Zaku he landed between two of the complexes after a quick look around.
Frowning at the information he pocketed the phone and took wing again, barely glancing at Zaku as he flew toward the library instead.
