Physical Description: Reenav has a shock of dark brown hair and startling green eyes which are usually bright and happy and full of some sort of amusement, he has a few freckles over the bridge of his nose and a small scar under the outer corner of his right eye. At 6'2 he towers over many of his friends and eagerly awaits the day he stops growing, (which will be around next year with a final height of 6'4), Thankfully by now he was pretty much out of the awkward flailing stage and comported his movement with as much grace as possible, he has average musculature with a thin layer of fat. He tends to not like sweet things all that much which was the only thing saving him from having a paunch.
Personality: Predominantly a glass is half full sort with an optimistic glass is half full outlook on life, he does get rather cranky in winter with less sunlight. He has quite a bit of energy that can be hard for him to control especially on slow chore days, his patience at this age especially is not all that it could be. Be on the watch for him getting too hungry or tired as this is the time that his temper is most like to show. He despises liars, and once labeled as one your on the outs for a long time if not forever with him. He also appreciates good effort when it comes to chores and what not believing that you should give your all in what you do so that everyone gets a fair share of the work load and it does not become to onerous for individuals to carry out.
He enjoys both indoor and outdoor work, with some preference to tasks with some heavy lifting. He likes to explore as well and this above all things can get him into trouble it seems. He dislikes writing most of all having never had a really neat hand at it, and being to his reckoning tortured into repeating passages that he felt he didn't have to in his learning, he also got teased by some of the less kind weyrbrats about his poor penmanship and as such is very self conscious about it.
He struggles with criticism and people who boast about their skill. He believes in showing improvement, and gets really stressed when there are things that he is not doing well with. He worries about small things that others brush off as non vital.
History: Reenav was born to a female blue rider in High Reaches Weyr, he runs wild with the other weyrbrats but sometimes returns to her weyr to sleep, usually as close to her blue Reweth as he can get without annoying the dragon. This will always be home to him, and he cherishes his mother's opinions and often seeks out her advice. He waited until he was sixteen to start standing at impression, feeling initially that he wasn't ready for the responsibility of caring for a dragonet. Once he started to feel prepared he began his quest to become a dragonrider. For four years clutches came and went. He was of course disapointed but in the end as his mother told him, his dragon was not among them, if he was destined to ever find one, if not there were plenty of other areas he could accel in, music not being one of them.
He looked forward to the day that he would be on the right path for him, no matter which path that might turn out to be.
As his mother was a blue rider in a traditional weyr, he is very sensitive about her treatment, which is part of the reason he used to sleep with her before becoming a candidate, she has always triggered his protective streak despite being a sturdy character in her own right. This differing treatment of non traditional riders is one of the few things about his beloved weyr that he would like to change, his mother did not get to choose that her dragon be a blue instead of a green, it just happened to be that way.
The first few threadfalls would scar him for eternity, many people were hurt, and he got his scar from tripping beside one of the vats of numbweed they were preparing to sooth the threadscore that their riders and dragons previously inexperience with thread had come back bearing on their delicate skin. He had felt so sorry for them and angry at the rest of the world for not believing in the real threat that High Reaches had warned them about. He wants to destroy thread for the lives it ruined and the scars it made on the riders of his Weyr. This passion burns like firestone in his chest. He is proud of his Weyr for the most part, but thinks that they are a bit archaic about certain issues predominantly the treatment of none traditional riders and non traditional eggs. In his opinion as long as a white dragon was cared for there was no reason it should not be allowed to survive, its not like the others were not cared for after all. He wouldn't openly disagree with the treatment of the white eggs but he did wince every hatching where they were abandoned.
