(Momoko's Kyouji-Style Christmas Trivia Beatdown!)

"All right, maggots! Everybody line up and get your notes ready! Today's gonna be a massacre, and you're the sorry schleps that are going to get bloody! *dreamy look* Mm...bloody..."
"Momoko! What's gotten into you today? This drill sergeant tact is most unlike you."
"Though the bloodthirst I can sense from her is quite familiar... *sweatdrop*"
"Maggots and blood...I like this game! ^ ^"
"Momo, explain yourself. The schedule today calls for a challenging quiz game between friends, but the way you're attacking this event is like a boot camp?"
"There's about a 0% chance the explanation is something we're going to want to hear, isn't there?"
"*daydream* H-huh? Oh! Yes! I know that today was a quiz show, you silly baka!"
"*smirks and mutters under his breath* It's not like I like you or anything...'"
"Grow up. *eyeroll*"
"Never!"
"I like you just the way you are, Bel-nii~! ^ ^ *glomp!*"
"*taps Io's forehead and flash-freezes her in a block of ice* I did warn you..."
"Nnn...! *struggling cutely in the ice*"
"I know it's been said like, a thousand times by now...but you're a d**k, Bel."
"*smiles brightly* Guilty! ^ ^"
"If you hurt her...!"
"She's fiiine, trust me..."
"Trust you? *crosses arms*"
"Trust me! I'm the type of guy who you know is going to stab you in the back, so you can trust me to be that guy and take me at my word! I'm always on the level."
"-deadpan- I don't think that's how that works..."
"*brandishes axe* Bel, let her go. ^ ^"
"I can make your body cold too, if you like... ^ ^ *smiles devilishly at Bel*"
"I have the worst feeling about this... *shrinks away*"
"Come on, you wouldn't hurt a defenseless guy like me, would you? I'm unarmed... ^ ^;"
"You know me, Bel... ^ ^"
"That's what I'm afraid of..."

"Shouldn't...we hurry?"
"Lael's riiight! Guys, stop fighting..."
"Allow me to end this. *steps forward and swiftly draws his blade, a series of invisible slashes carving the ice to shards and letting Io drop to the floor*"
"*shivering* Brrrr~! B-b-bel-n-n-niii~! So c-c-cooold~! >3< )9"
"Ha! I get it!"
"*simultaneously brandishing axe to Bel's throat* ^ ^"
"*simultaneously brandishing a knife to Bel's throat* ^ ^"
"Point taken! ^ ^; *hands up*"
"*chuckles quietly* I feel like I'm going to Hel for laughing about this..."

"*quietly* In a way, it was a clever turn of phrase...if intentional, that is."
"*sighs* With that settled, Momo..."
"Could you please finally tell us what all of this is about?"
"Mm...I don't wanna anymore. *casual*"
"Can I beat it out of her? *cracks knuckles and smirks* Or should I just tell Mashiro about your crush on him?"
"I never said I had that. *defiant*"
"Stop acting like a child and do your duty."
"*pouts* Fiiine...you guys are no fun."
"These last eight days would imply otherwise..."
"I don't know about you, but I've been having a blast this Christmas!"
"Oh yes! Christmas in the past is nothing like you can imagine in our world! All of the lights..."
"And the people!"
"And the snowfall!"
"And the singing!"
"And the food!"
"And the presents!"
"And the family!"
"And the stories!"
"And the... *continues*"
"...Wait, doesn't anybody want to hear about my event, anymore?! D':"

Final Christmas Interlude - What Christmas in the Past Means to You
"Well, it has been quite and eventful first eight days of Christmas, and since the Awards Banquet begins tomorrow, this will be our last time together as the full team of hosts for this year's GUILDMAS2016!!! Festivities. We've had some harrowing times, some peaceful times, some brilliant and wonderful times together, but for most of us, the time has come to deliver our final word. It has been quite the honor to be here with all of you...friends, readers, and family alike. I want to thank you all for being here for all of this time, for allowing us to come into your homes, into your lives, and share these precious Holidays alongside you. But before we depart for good, there is one last things we would all like to share and speak about, each individually...and that is what being here, the ability to experience Christmas in the past for the first time ever, means to us. ...Would anybody care to begin?"
"*smirk* Look at you nerds, getting all sentimental. Christmas in the past is just way more opportunity for mischief and fun...the chance to meet some more ladies, to eat some better food, and to take advantage of the distraction to do the things that I want to do without psychopaths like you lot getting in my way. Still, I can't say it hasn't been fun, so..."
"*rolls eyes* Typical Bel response. Still, I was lucky enough to get to spend a couple of peaceful Christmases with my family together, back in Yakushima in our world. I thought I knew all that there was to know about the holiday from the presents, the way they protected us, the warmth of a home...and yeah, that might be the spirit of Christmas, there's no substitute for this crazy bullsh-well, you know. With all the lights and the singing and the shopping...I think I saw a lady jumpkick a guy over a stuffed bear the other day for her kid! It's insane! But the best kind of insane...and the chance to see it all with my brother, with my mom and dad again...can't beat it, really."
"I haven't reconnected with my clan yet, but the experience of seeing all of this new, exciting Holiday celebration is one that I'll never forget. The serene feeling of watching the snow fall after the lighting of a Christmas tree is something I never experienced during the siege in Satsuma during my youth...it reminds me of the beauty of this country, and the beauty that can be found in people."
"Singing together with my family...all of them...for the first time. It's all I've ever wanted. ^ ^ *beambeamsmile* ...Bel, are you sure you don't want at least ooone hug?"
"My dad was great at pretending. Even when the world had ended, and all the dark s**t outside of the Resistance was closing in, he always had this smile, this...bravado that made me feel like nothing was wrong and everything was going to be all right. I mean, eventually I learned that he was doing it for me, but even knowing that, I still bought in every Christmas when he would come home to the base...somehow holding a big stack of presents, toys, dresses, things I'd never even seen before...and smile like it was nothing to say that 'It was nothing, for my baby girl.' ...He was such a badass. *smiles faintly* But here, in this world, nobody is pretending to be happy, to be safe or peaceful. Everybody's living life so carefree, so colorful and fun. And my parents...they're young and full of life, too! I mean, I got to see my dad rock and roll on stage! In his prime! That's the most amazing Christmas gift I can imagine, right?"
"To see the country that my father loved and gave both of his lives to protect so green and white, so bright and full of life, is the secret hope that I never spoke of before or after our journey back in time. This world, and this country, are beautiful beyond measure. Being here with Sera, Ser Pounce, and all of you, is more than I might have dreamed. ...And I must admit, the desserts are absolutely to die for."
"*already tearing up* I...I get to see Christmas again with Daddy...and I can see Mommy, and be with my friends...and everything is going to be okay now! I...I'm just so happy to be a family again..."
"*sets a hand on Amora's shoulder gently* I can second that. When my father...went MIA in our home world, we all knew what that meant. We tried to hold onto hope, but the truth was that we all knew it meant that he was gone. That was the cold truth, the reality of the Corrupted Future we left behind. ...Day by day, things were taken away from us, and because of the Corruption, there was no way to ever get them back once they were gone. We lost...and we lost...and even when we won, we lost things that we could never have again as the price of victory. But my father...my mother...Kyouji and Ciela...Cesc and Touma and Faust and Rednal and all of the others...they never stopped fighting for us. They never stopped believing in a future in which we could all live in peace, free of the Corruption. I don't know that the family I've found in this world can ever replace what we've left behind. But the joy I take in every aspect of this Christmas...the people, the world, the gifts, and the smiles...this is because of them. And for them. ...Father, wherever you are...we made it."
"Yes...this is for our Father, isn't it? *smiles, beautifully and honestly for once, without a hint of...whatever usually lingers in her smiles* ...It is strange how in the dead of winter, when everything is cold and dying all around us, the world seems only more full of rich, warm-blooded life, isn't it? When you would imagine the world becoming very gloomy and isolated, instead people come together and smile, and sing, and give one another presents. It makes me...happy. It makes me want to give this lovely dead world a few droplets of life of my own...as a present for having us. ^ ^ Don't you agree, Zaitou-kun? *smile*"
"*shivers uneasily* Uh...yes, I'd say...something like that. ...But, the truth for me is that while I can't exactly see this world in the same way that you can, there is a sense of...peace in the air, the lightness that was never present in our own world. I wish to share this feeling, this unfamiliar warmth, with my family here...to find a way to give back hope and joy to them as they did for me in our future, all that they could. I think...that's a feeling we all share."
"*munching* OHMYGOD! Have you guys tried Christmas Cookies?! They are amaaaazing! ...Huh, wait, you guys wanted something sentimental?"
"*shakes head and smiles* Why am I not surprised, Momo? ...But she is a good example of the truth that despite our new world, the second chance we've been given, it is good to remain true to who we are. Though we are given the chance to reconnect with our families, to make this world safe from the Corruption that destroyed ours, we must not lose sight of the path behind...and the sacrifices we have made that shaped our steps and brought us this far. I am pleased to have the chance to meet this world's version of my father and mother again...but especially in this Christmas season, remembering the chances our world's mother and father gave to me, I am all the more grateful for them...and wish to make the most of this world to honor their sacrifice."
"A noble sentiment, Lady Estelle...and one I believe echoes my own feelings on the matter. My father, despite his immortal body, was not immune to the Corrupting powers of our world's great scourge. And watching as he fought desperately to safeguard our passage into the Corridor, I was reminded...as I am now...that no matter who you are or how long-lived your existence may be, your time on this Earth is precious. For us, even more so, because of the path of bodies and blood that has been laid before our feet to bring us here. There...was a poor man Downtown the other day, loitering in front of the Junes Tower...and as he sat and lingered against the brick of the monolith and the snow fell upon and around him, I could see in him the barest threads of hope ready to snap and fail...it was a familiar look to many of those we rescued with the Resistance in the Bad Future. And I was reminded...that people are fragile, they lose hope, and they die...in our world, in this. Euphoria and I split the cost of a meal from the Food Court and brought it to the man shortly after, and when we did, something happened that will stay with me. Within his eyes I could see his hopelessness replaced with hope...his sadness replaced with a joy, that someone unknown to him could show him such a kindness...and I learned anew the joy of giving. Of safeguarding hope. ...This world is not Corrupted, but it is also not without its citizens in need of salvation. I believe, perhaps this Christmas Season more than ever, that we should remember why we are here...to preserve this world, preserve these smiles, protect hope. At least...that is what I experienced."
"You're right, Kuzaku...we can't forget that. But I can't help but be thankful for the little things, too. The happy moments we thought we would never experience again...like hugging Daddy again...watching Mommy smile and open a Christmas present from him...from sitting around the warm house and talking, eating, sharing gifts and stories together. Not that I don't like being with all of you, but...I just...never imagined I'd be able to do this again. And I'm so happy..."
"Mhm! *smiles brightly* There are so many people I never got to meet or places I never got to see before! Like Auntie Nami and Uncle Nagi...and Uncle Nito and my cousin Nova and Nini and Great Uncle Nando and Great Aunt Nyssa! Auntie Natsu's home Naal and I are staying at! And...AND Christmas with ALL the family! Our...family's Christmases used to be really big, is what Dad used to say! But in our world, they only got smaller...but now I can go celebrate with all of them, together! ^ ^ *smiles* Well, except maybe Uncle Nito, but maaaybe I can talk Dad into forgiving him and letting him come home for the holidays! ...Ooh! And Lael, you have to come, too! All riiight?"
"Me? I... *hesitates, but the gentle hand of Evie on his shoulder and the encouraging smiles and nods of all the people around him finally manage to convince him to speak* ...Before coming to this world, I...had never really experienced Christmas. At all...and before I met you all in...that world, I can't remember having any friends...any family. Almost everything I can remember is darkness...and Corruption...curling desperately into a different hole each night and hoping that nothing would find me until dawn. It wasn't as though I was never happy, but I don't think that until I met you, Evie...and spent time with all of the rest of you...that I ever really knew joy. I never knew what... *glances at Evie with a slight flush* love was like...and even if I doubt myself...you believed in me enough to bring me with you. I am in this time...in this world...because of you. I can experience all of this beautiful snow, these brilliant lights, the magical joy and festive cheer of this Christmas season...because of you. I... *takes Evie's hand gently* I do not have a family of my own to return to...that is to say, I didn't. But this year, my first holiday with any company besides myself...I have the wonderful pleasure of experiencing it together with a family. And that, my friends...is you."
"Heh...well said, Mr. Poet. *smirks*"
"Indeed, I can't think of a better note to end on. ...So from all of us here, and from the Future from which we've come...I would like to wish all of you, our family for the Season, a most wonderful...and Merry Christmas! Until next time...!"
