So far Laz was having a very eventful day, losing one of her rock snakes had lead her to run into Shah again, which was lovely. Learning that the two of them had children came as a shock, but the two girls so just sooo adorable. Now she and Shah just needed to figure out how they where going to split the care of their two darling daughters. That discussion would have to wait for the moment however.

Entering the apartment building she gave Shah a quick grin, "Here we are." Pulling her key out she quickly unlocked the door and held it open to her companion before heading inside. The apartment opened up into a living room, with a kitchen on the right hand side. In the living room there was a couch and a couple chairs, move than enough sets to fit five pae and a few guests. Laz was a bit surprised at how quite the apartment was, with so many pae living in one place it tended to be hectic. Laz was glad that things where rather calm at the moment. She had a large family and didn't want to overwhelm Shah or the babies. "Feel free to sit down where ever you like. Would you like anything to drink or eat?" She asked as she moved to the kitchen to get herself some tea.

The big question was how should she go about introducing shah. Obviously just yelling out YOU GOT GRAND KIDS MA. Wasn't the best idea. She hummed for a moment as she made the tea. "I'm Back everyone and I've got Somepaes I'd like you to meet." She wasn't quite sure what Shah was to her, a friend, acquaintance, ...lover? the last thought made her blush a tiny bit. Being a bit vague seemed like the best way to go about it, plus there where the babies to introduce as well.

Shah had been all eyes and ears as she'd carefully followed behind Laz, now awarded the luxury of looking about her surroundings in more detail than she'd been able to when by herself. By all accounts, the technological advances in this city far surpassed any she'd yet seen, even before she'd come to this land. Indeed, such grand buildings had been reserved for the nobility, and even they dwarfed in comparison of the number and sheer heights these obtained. There appeared no shortage of resources of any kind, be they related to food, water, or shelter, and on the surface, all seemed the epiphany of a peaceful utopia. Even her third eye, perceptive as it was, could see no signs of deceit.

When offered an open door, the feline simply obliged.

What greeted her thereafter were grand accommodations that she'd not experience in years, and some never before. The craftsmanship of the furniture was at the level her own family would have kept, but she'd been left to a forest for long enough that they'd become but a distant memory. Her expression was somewhat clouded by the overwhelming feeling of it all and by conflicted feelings of nostalgia, regret, and contempt for her past. If anything, she looked perfectly calm and neutral. Perhaps too so.

"That will be quite alright, thank you," she responded automatically, a more polite and formal tone coming from her than she'd maintained in the city, even if the wording was not all so different.

At that she glanced back to Laz and the edges of her mouth curved just upwards, as subtle a sign as any, before moving into the larger room beside them. She chose to sit in one of the chairs, neither the smallest nor the largest available to her, and brought the bundles to instead sit upon her lap as she did so. Her tail curled meekly beside her hips and fell to the ground, while her hands, which would have normally sat one atop the other on her lap, instead gently held the bundles. Her ears were the only feature of hers to move as Laz called out to any others that might have been home, first flicking in the direction of her voice, then towards any others that came thereafter.

Laz hoped that the change in the tone of Shah's voice wasn't an indication that the rak was uncomfortable with the situation. She hoped that Shah would trust her enough to let her know if she wanted to leave. She hummed quietly as she made the tea it was her parent's favorite blend. Laz had to admit she was a bit nervous about introducing her family to her children as you could never know 100% how paeple will react. She hoped that it would be a good surprise however.

Once the tea was finished brewing she set the pot on a tray along with several cups and headed back into the living room. She carefully set the tray down before pouring herself a cup of tea. Laz settled down on the chair next to the on Shah had taken and took a sip of her drink , sneaking a quick look at the babies curled up in their slings. She had a smile on her face as she set the cup back down. The kids where just tooo cute! She wished she knew what to say to Shah, something to help the other relax a bit and break the silence that seemed to be starting to grow.

Noir's lazy day to stay in late, was interrupted when his daughter called out that she had someone she wanted them to meet. "Sounds like Laz made a new friend" He said to his wife as he put the book he had been reading down. "Be out in a minute" He called to his daughter as he started to get out of bed and set his book back on the shelf.

Shah's eyes followed Laz's figure as she returned to the room,
her posture primed and proper throughout the exchange. Waiting for Laz to settle in, she carefully poured herself a cup and set the pot back in its proper spot without hardly a sound. She looked down to ensure the babies were busying themselves with their sleep before picking up the cup and, after bringing it to her nose to sniff and then just before her lips to blow upon it, she took a sip.

The rak wasn't one to dislike silence; rather, she was quite used to it and could, at times, even welcome its presence. Noting her friend...(?) acquaintance...(?) lover...(?) seemed less comfortable with it, however, she offered up some conversation. "This is quite a lovely blend; where did you find it?"

Laz sipped her tea as she waited for her parents to enter the room, she idly wondered if her brother was home.

"Ah I got it from the market, there is a small stall that sells some delightful blends." She made a note to show it to Shah sometime if the Rak stayed around long enough for her to do so.

Noir set his book back on the shelf and headed out into the living room. He was curious who she had brought, clearly it wasn't Lyneeson her brother's friend whom she liked to tease. As she would have just said so or not said anything since he hung over so much anyways. One of her friends would make more sense than her brother's friends anyways. But her behavior was unusual ,usually she would wait until they came out to introduce her friends and just tell them she had someone over. Wait she said somepaes as in more than one person. Hmm

When he got to the living room he spotted Laz and headed over to the couches. Curiously he only saw one other person with his daughter, a Rak by the looks of it. Had she found one of the coins that Ruzeh and he had? It seemed like their family attracted raks. "Hello." He greeted pleasantly.

Laz frowned for a moment her mom wasn't out yet but her dad was all ready here. She had wanted to introduce them both to the babies at the same time, mostly because she felt it was very very awkward and did not feel like repeating it. Maybe she could stall slightly? Probably not. "This is Shahrazad" She said gesturing to her lover? Friend. Maybe they should have talked about that first. "And these are Aisha and Raabi'a" She added gesturing to the two small babies wrapped up in their slings. She paused for a few moments trying to get up the courage to explain, it wasn't fair to Shah to make the other do it when it was Laz's family and the Rak had just met him.

"They are our kids." She finally manged to spit out with a nervous laugh at the end.

"N-nice to meet you Shahrazad." Noir greeted while he had manged to stop stuttering around his family, strangers not so much. When his daughter mentioned two more names he looked closer at the sacks and realized they had babies in them. Huh so her friend had brought kids. His eyes widened when his daughter said that the babies where their kids. What, when? Shouldn't Laz have told them sooner. "R-Ruzeh! This is important." He called to his wife as he slowly sank into the love seat across from the couple. "T-their... uhh c cute." He sputtered out. The angel was still trying to process the information.

Firuzeh only half heard her daughter calling for them in the other room. She grumbled at the intrusion of her sleep. They didn't get to sleep in very often and she was loathe to wake up. Ruzeh felt her husband get out of bed and waved her hand, mumbling that she'd be out in a minute.

She wasn't, of course. She'd fallen back asleep in about two seconds after Noir had left the room. Then she heard Noir call for her again and apparently there was something wrong. She could hear it in the tone of his voice as she jerked up to a sitting position. "Coming!" she called and heaved a sigh. She was sure her hair was a mess but all she did was run her fingers through it to settle it down before heading out to the main room.

"Hey sweetheart," she said to Laz, then nodded to her friend. "Sorry I wasn't out here before, I'm hard to wake up sometimes." She gave them an apologetic smile before turning to her husband. "Noir? Honey, are you okay?" she asked as she sat next to him on the love seat. She turned back to ask what had happened when she noticed that Laz's friend(?) was carrying a pair of babies in slings. "Are they yours?" she asked the Rak, then glanced at Laz, too. They were lenient parents, for the most part, and there wasn't much she thought that would shock her husband into such silence. "Yours too, sweetie?" she asked her daughter.

Shahrazhad nodded in tune with the reply, her eyes too wandering around the largely quiet home. Her ear flicked at the distinct sound of approaching footsteps and, in preparation for whomever was to appear at the doorstep, she straightened her slackening posture and placed the cup on the table before her. She looked over as the one of Laz's parents - her dad? - walked in, politely lowering her head as he addressed her and she was introduced.

Not put off initially by her appearance it seemed.

Raising her head, she reached around to present the small children as they, too, were introduced.

Nodding again, she replied in turn, "The pleasure is all mine~" Oh, so the stutter ran in the family, did it? How cute. Laz's stutter was far cuter though. As the mood in the room took an awkward air, her tail flicked behind her and she slowly blinked her two regular eyes. It wasn't that she was ignoring Laz's father, but was there really anything proper to say to that?

Thanks?

As Firuzeh came into the room, the cat followed her silently with her eyes, only speaking when she was directly addressed. "Yes ma'am." Short and to the point.

Oh dear, it looked like her dad needed a moment, at least he tried not to panic, she had to laugh at that. Although she supposed they where probably expecting her brother be the one to show up with kids not her. "Yes, they are adorable aren't they? " She agreed with her father's statement.

Annnd here comes mom. Okay Laz you got this, you said it once all ready! She giggled inwardly at her mother's bed head, so she had fallen back asleep. If she had gotten up with dad Laz assumed her mother's hair would have been brushed by now.

Luckily her mother was an observant one, and asked if the kids where her's. Laz was relived it was much easier to answer the question than make a full statement. "Yes mama."

As his wife was talking to his daughter and their guest? He was able to compose himself again. It wasn't that he wasn't excited to have grand-kids, he just wasn't expecting them so soon. He nodded with a smile at his daughter's comment.

Her wrapped an arm around Ruzeh a few moments after she sat down. She seemed to be taking this better than him. Which was good. He didn't want to give Shah the wrong idea and have her think that she wasn't wanted or welcome. He just wasn't good with paeple.

The babies where indeed adorable. They where sound asleep at the moment and it looked like one of them had a slit on their head? Oh, must have gotten the third eye from their mother. ...other mother? The mother that was not his daughter.
