It wasn't Fletch's first Perigree's Eve, but it was the first time Toothdad had let him out to shop and choose actual presents for people in the run up! Not that um, Fletch knew who he was actually choosing presents
for. He didn't actually know too many people...Hm, still presents were a great way to get to know people!!!! He could just get lots of little gifts and then hand them out to like his uh, neighbours or schoolfeed mates with a little note!!! Yes!!!!! Brilliant plan if he did say so himself.
So he'd ventured out suitably wrapped up - even wearing the stupid, horrible, hateful footwraps toothdad insisted he wear when it was cold - to the mall. And oh boy had there been a lot of people. Like. A plethora of people, yes that was a good word. Normally this would mean Fletch would turn around and go home. But today he was DETERMINED. Well, that and he'd caught sight of Mirthland. Mirthland was possibly Fletch's whole aesthethic in a neat little store. Well, we say 'neat', but that's not really that accurate. Mirthland's sorting system was whimsical at best. Which really, only made it more Fletch's deal, really.
Toothdad snapped his teeth shut on Fletch's coat as his child began to make a beeline for the store, squeaking words of caution. Fletch hummed reassurances, and the pair entered the store, Toothdad eyeing the way Fletch was bouncing on his toes suspciously. Well, at least it was better then them freaking out about the amount of people there.
That didn't last, however. A little while later, a wide-eyed Fletch was clutching onto ToothDad's fur very, very tightly, obviously minutes away from a meltdown. Toothdad cast about for some way of stopping it, and squeaked in glee as he saw a familiar face. That was Fletch's learning-help-adult, therefore she could be trusted to help with his wriggler. Squeaking constant reassurances at his wriggler, he managed to convince Fletch to go over to her, and then nipped at him gently when Fletch did nothing but sort of....stare.
"Ow! Oh. Huh. Hey Miss Rision, how are you on this mirthful ********' day?"
Fletch did not sound very mirthful.
