Destiny City has had a few experiences with snow so far, but no one can argue that this most recent snow is the best for building snowmen. It's on a weekend, and the weather is just perfect. Many have dubbed today the city's unofficial 'Build a Snowman Day'. Snowman, snow sculpture, snow angel--whatever you want to make, have fun with it! Young or old, take some time to appreciate the little things and connect with some good old, basic, winter fun!Wren was sitting on a park bench and sighing, hands cradling a warm thermos of cocoa to keep her from a chill as she waited. Recovering from Demon Plants was not fun, nor was recovering from... ...Well. She wasn't doing well, and Joseph had insisted that Emily Wren meet him in the park... Excet her boyfriend was nowhere to be seen, and the female huffed, sipping her cocoa. Had she been stood up? Why was he dekayed? What happened? Where WAS he?!

Where was Joseph? Why, sneaking up on Emily Wren right now, a large snowball in hand. He saw her hot cocoa, however, so waited until she had lowered the cocoa mug before letting the cold, fluffy weapon of torment fly. Only once it was out of his hands did he call out a helpful "Heads up, Curls!" to alert his girlfriend of the incoming danger. No alert at all might make her think it was a legitimate attack instead of a playful one, given how wound up she had been over the magic war they had both been caught in to varying degrees, while warning too soon would mean she could dodge. And that just wouldn't be fun at all. Laughing now, Joseph ducked behind a tree, but peeked around it to see what Emily Wren would do next.

Emily jumped with a yelp, blinking in surprise when it hit before turning to Joseph, blinking with wide eyes. "Really?" She asked. "REALLY?" She huffed, grabbing some snow and throwing it at him in protest. "I thought I got stood up! Buttface!"

Joseph chuckled and ducked away from the throw, tossing another one lightly in her direction before ambling over and flinging an arm about the small woman's shoulders. "Awww, c'mon Curls, you know I wouldn't do that," he soothed, pressing a kiss to her temple - and making a grab for her hot cocoa thermos, just to see what she would do in response. Someone was in a playful mood today, and he wasn't going to let Emily Wren stay sad and sulky when he could get her angry and playful in turns. She needed to work out some of her feelings, and also remember that there were still good things in the world, too. What better way to do that than to tease with snow?

Emiky binked, ducking aside befotre he came by, and she snuggled in close, nuzzling him before... Well... He stole her cocoa, and Emily squeaked indignantly, making a sad pitiful grabby hand attempt for it. "But- but- my cocoa!" ...OK so now she was acting 5. Meh.

"Mine, now," he teased, kissing her quickly before stepping back. Holding the thermos up over his head (and out of the tiny woman's reach), he chuckled. "Gotta get it back if you want it that bad, Curls. Think you can~?" Alright, maybe he was being a bit too mean - and he didn't want snow down his shirt or pants - so after a moment, Joseph relented and handed the thermos back to Emily Wren with a smile. "C'mon, darlin', let's find something to do - or somewhere warmer to be. You're still gettin' over being sick, aren't you? Best not t' linger out here too long, then."

"And an attack." Emily finally said, and she hugged her thermos, sighing. "By two senshi I used to know. They... They were corrupted. Insane." Emily winced, shutting her eyes and making a whimpering noise. She didn't want to think on it, think of how she failed, seeming to lock up as she hugged herself too, eyes shutting as she began to keen.

"They - damn, Curls," Joseph murmured, pulling her into a tight hug and rocking her in place. "Alright. C'mon. You are in desperate need of something nice. And probably to hit somethin' really hard." He smiled, but it was a sad one, full of the worry he had for Emily Wren and how unhappy she was. "Plus y' deserve a chance at revenge for my greeting. Wanna have a good old fashioned snowball fight, darlin'?"

Ok so crying and thought were poor companions. Tegardless, Emily Wren buried in Joseph, half for comfort, half warmth, before blinking and nuzzling her face in.
"....can we cuddle?"

"I don't think y' can screw up a snowball toss," Joseph said gently, but pulled her close and smiled. "'course we can. Wanna walk and cuddle, or find a nice café or somethin', one of those that has a couch where you can sit down 'n relax? I'm fine with whatever - hell, if you want, you can come back to my place and you can meet my new baby. She's got a few decades more on her than I'm used to working with, but her engine's still good and damn does it purr!"

"...Both is good." Because as much as snuggles at Joseph's sounded nice, so did cocoa and pastries cuddled in a cafe. It was cold outside afterall, and clutching her mug, Emily looked up, somehow all-eyes. "I'd like a warm cafe, but I want to see your new baby too. Can't be louder than Rosie when she's upset." She loved Flynn, but Rosie got Albert's lungs and way of ensuring all knew her dissatisfaction. And Emily suspected that baby knew she was ruining people's hearing.

"Heh. My baby doesn't throw up or use diapers, either," Joseph said, preening more than a little. He knew about Rosie, of course he did - but he wasn't particularly interested in spending time with the tiny devil. Tiny spoiled devil, from what he'd seen of her so far. "Let's do the café, then," he said cheerfully, squeezing her close. "We can get better cocoa than this, and head back t' my place after." As he spoke, he grabbed the thermos from Wren again and twisted it open, swallowing some of the hot chocolate with a cheeky grin before he passed it back to the tiny woman. "Think we can finish this before we get there, you 'n me? Don't want them thinking we're bringing our own things in, that'd be bad for business."

"That sounds good." Emily noted softly, and nuzzled against Joseph softly, crooning a little. He was warm, and nice, and... Aaaannnnddd a hand swiftly scooped up some snow and dumped it down his back with a weak giggle. She was trying, and clearly wanted cuddles, but. TRYING. "They might frown yes-- Aunt Emiy made that cocoa!" The woman objected, and took a good, long swig of it once the thermos was returned, pressing into Joseph. "I want transport one day. Car or bike or something. Dad's useless looking, he thinks I'd hurt myself. What cafe?"

" Hey!" Joseph yelped, then broke down snickering. "Good one, Curls, y' got me," he crooned approvingly, and walked her in the direction of the park's exit. "Nice place, minimal on the holiday ridiculousness," he said, smiling. "Owner's real sweet, too." He paused, then, and frowned as he considered Wren's words. "Hurt yourself? With what? You're just as likely to get hurt as a pedestrian... overprotective old man..."

"Sounds nice." Emily agreed, and smiled at last, kissing his cheek. Stubble was tempting to nuzzle, and she wanted to nuzzle it at his first convenience, but for now, she peppered his chek and jawline in kisses before sighing. Ah, yes. The verprotectiveness of her father. "Understatement. He... Swears I'll break my neck driving, I don't know how DANGEROUS cars are, or bikes, I'm out too often, and will you believe he just asks Uncle Tom to drive everywhere?" A glint flashed in her eyes - a salty one. "I'm not sure he wants to admit he doesn't know how to drive. Not like Uncle Tom can't tach, or aunt Emily. And for riding, I can ask my cousin. It's not like I can't learn safety. More like PARANOID. Especially with Rosie around. He's gone full-on batshit. 'I'M OLD I'M OLD I'M OLD WAAAAHHH!'. Dad you are FOURTY. That's YOUNG."
