Yet another challenge had come and gone showing him as the victor - Raphael was baffled. How he had managed to get this far he wasn't sure, but here he was ready to face his next competitor.
Chidambar Kalyani.
The name he had been given rolled in his mind, again he was stuck trying to imagine his opponent. Finally he decided to stop worrying about it and simply let the fates continues to guide him.

 He was tired, and to say the least he never thought he would ever get this far. Two other matches, and he was stunned to say he made it out of them, a victor no less. Blown away by the results in which he was sure to thought himself a lost cause- he gave some honor. Even just making it to this round. Some of his fears went away, slightly.
"Raphael Ansoomse." He heard from the watchers, and he went up to the ring and saw the dark maned lion. It would be a lie to say that his nerves were straightened, no- contrary, he gulped hard. The lion looked quite strong.
"It is an honor." He managed to get out.

"Same to you."
Raphael spoke in a quick, rushed tone that suggested he was running on adrenaline and that he was He hadn't the foggiest how he had made it this far and if he was being honest he'd had found it hard to try and relax between matches - no matter how long they seemed to provide. Now he stood facing his combatant and found himself seeking the comfort of battle to remove the edge.
"Let's begin."
Without hesitation Raphael threw his body into a lunge at his competition, paws out stretched to grab for flesh that was hopefully within his grasp.

The leap didn't come as such a surprise. Most of them during his matches were leap attacks. What he didn't calculate was how quick the other strike and how his own muscles were still sore from the fight before and slower to react.
That moment of tenseness, landed the lion upon him with claws burying in to his flesh, He roared with pain as he tried to thrash the other away and backed up, causing him to roll and help the claws only cause a longer wound upon his back. Nearly the same place that the first challenger caused. Pulling his arm back and lashing it forward to strike at the other, but he missed by some margin. Chida jumped back, shook himself off and readied himself again.
He would need to keep in his calculations the amount of fatigue he had been experiencing til now.

"Ah ha!" Confidence boosted by his connection to flesh. Raphael was enjoying this far more than he had anticipated, but wouldn't have had it any other way. Why weren't other decisions made this way? A thought he figured he would visit again later.
The other didn't strike back and decidedly he removed himself from their tussle and let himself get steady - in his current state he imagined that a blow now wouldn't get him very far.
"Looks painful."
A taunt, nothing to fancy - but enough.

"Just a little." He huffed, and rose his body. The other hadn't readied an attack, so he decided to work out his legs just a little to get them going for an attack.
He readied, then charged at the lion, but instead of attacking him he dodged him just moments before impact. Looking for like a missed attempt then what he was really after. Warming up his tensed muscles so he could fight better. Circling him.
"Guess I missed huh~" He chuckled some and huffed as he readied up again.

The chuckle was echoed by Raphael who was off balanced, but made an attempt at the lion before him anyway - it was a pathetic attempt that revealed he to would be missing.
"It's a wonder we made it this far, no?" He smiled warmly and noted that even when he was missing this was likely the most calm he had felt the whole tournament. The dark lion took a deep breath and relaxed his body that had already begun to ache as it recalled the previous battles injuries.
"I'd like to have a long nap and perhaps seek a good bath when all of this is said and done." He joked with his competitor, rolled his shoulders and prepared himself for the next possible attack.
