As Christmas drew nearer, Boaz found himself spending more and more of his out of work hours in the Rift, busying himself with everything that went on in the Infirmary so that he wouldn't have to stop to deal with his own life and the complicated emotions associated with it. Mel's absence and his own confusion till this day as to what exactly had gone wrong between them both had admittedly hit him very hard. It took him a while but he eventually managed to arrive at some sort of equilibrium state at present that permitted him to function so long as he took care to avoid anything that could potentially remind him of her. It was the best that he could do. For now. And hopefully it wouldn't be long till he could desist this avoidance behaviour entirely without risking a relapse of the depression that he had been through.
It was a relatively quiet Thursday night in the Infirmary and Amethyst was seated at his desk, going over the inventory list. He had told the Lieutenants who were supposed to cover the facility in the evening to call it a day and was looking forward to the peace and quiet as soon as the last of them was out of there.
