Advertised around town on available bulletins, a carolling group has been requesting volunteers to join them. There doesn't seem to be any catches--it's just a fun little opportunity to spread some Holiday cheer while making some new friends! Of course, you don't have to if you don't want to--maybe, instead, you're the sort to chase carolers off your doorstep?

Now there were some people in the world that might find Christmas events such as Caroling a nuisance. She was not one of them. If anything people might have sometimes found her holiday joy a nuisance. Since she had far more than any human probably was meant to have. Well really holiday of any kind spirit.

"I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. Only a hippopotamus will do. Don't want a doll, no dinkey tinker toy. I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy.." She hummed as she walked down the Christmas lined street nearby her house and bakery. Her black belted boots clicked the sidewalk like reindeer hooves and her red white fluff trimmed dress blew in the wind like a small snowflake. Her face was filled with nothing but joy. Since while she loved baking her second love was singing. Singing out-loud, singing in private, singing anytime really was her favorite time of all. Since a song could just lighten ones heart in a way she never knew possible.

She continued singing the hippopotamus song like no one was watching until she ran into a pole. Lucky for her she was walking about very slowly and by slow that may have been understatement. But the moment she hit she fell straight to the sidewalk ground. Oomph was the only sound heard. Her dress flew up to land on her head and a flyer of sorts landed on her lap.

Just as she stood up and began adjusting herself. She noticed the flyer fall onto the ground in front of her. It was very hard to miss. Bright red from the looks of it as she bent over to pick the flyer up. Slowly looking it over her singing began to stop. as her eyes drifted over the page. It was something about an open caroling group. Like a volunteer thing of sorts. Hmm volunteering she though in her head quietly. Now that was something she hadn't done in while. With the bakery and school consuming most of her time. Though with both done for now - she did have quiet a lot of free time on her hands. Maybe this was just the thing she needed to occupy her time and plus she would have a good excuse to sing aloud.

As she read it further she noticed a number at the bottom of the flyer. So she reached into her bag she was carrying on her back and quickly dug out her cell phone. It took a bit of work, but as soon as she found it her fingers began dialing the number. She figured why not - it would give her something to do while her parents were away and she could spread some holiday joy. plus how many times does a flyer fall right on your head after running into a pole. Not many that's for sure. As soon as she finished dialing she heard it ring and ring and ring. Until a voice on the other end answer. "Hi I'm Amgiar and I was wanting to volunteer for your caroling group in a few days. Still have room?" she said shyly. The person on the other end told her they definitely do and that they would all be meeting up in a park near her house during the daylight just to help introduce everyone. They asked if that would work for her. "Definitely! I'm in and I will see you then. Happy holidays!" she said kindly as she ended the quick phone call.

Well now that was one journey she couldn't wait to see how it ended. Though she would have to wait a few days. Until then though she could always pick a new outfit from home. With that thought in mind she mind brightly, headed towards her home, began to sing again. This time though a smile was brightly illuminated on her face and there was a prance in her step. Day by day she finally branching out from her small world.

"....I want a hippopotamus for Christmas. I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?. He won't have to use a dirty chimney flue.. Just bring him through the front door. That's the easy thing to do."
