As a moon hunter, America focuses primarily on housing, security, and defense projects while on base; civilian security and trainee introductions while in the field. She takes her work seriously and doesn't let personal issues of any sort disrupt doing the job. Her professional feelings toward hunter work also extends to the training fields, and she won't spar with live weapons out of anger/spite/desire to hurt the other hunter.
She's a good bet to introduce a trainee to field work and reliable sparring partner. However, her abilities on the healing side of moon work have been consistently poor, though not by intention, and she would never be considered a medic of any sort.
America can often be found on outside bases, heading up renovation and repair work.
Personalities: America was born an only child and was largely taken care of up her large herd of uncles. Through them, she gained a wide range of small skills growing up, along with a strong can-do approach toward life.
Stryker is a former phoenix, who has matured into a more quiet thoughtfulness over the years. Where he was once hoping for glory and respect in battle, he's become more observant and concerned about the toll battle, loss, and even victory can take on a hunter.
Flawsdistant : When first coming to the island, America maintained a certain distance that she often covered over with energetic friendliness and a deeply self-centered worldview. While that changed over time, it left her vulnerable to a number of hurts, most specifically the suicide of a close lover and friend. She's returned again to self imposed distances, but without the cheerful self-centeredness that still made her easily popular and approachable. She doesn't want to be close to you. She will absolutely not be relying on you.
constant need to prove herself : while it can be a good motivator it can also lead her into bad situations. Her awareness of this personality trait does little to curb it. She's come to feel responsible, actively and passively, for a number of deaths and bad things that have happened to people. This has become a trait more about balancing out all the ills her existence has brought.
reading comprehension : is not so much. While literate, written and drawn instructions are difficult for her to understand and apply. For her, learning needs to be a hands-on matter.
Virtueshard working : she doesn't believe in the easy way or giving less than 120%. If you want something, you work for it.
confident : she's rarely too unsure or embarrassed to take action or present her ideas. She has a solid sense of self-worth that doesn't depend on other people's approval.
skilled : Even before Deus, America was one to collect small skills from others. Since arriving at the island she's gained many more and has proven competent in most areas she works in, and overall has become a sort of organizer/troubleshooter for the more mundane aspects of Hunter life and work.
Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter? America always knew she was important, and when she began to see things other people couldn't, things that left chills and uneasiness in the air? It was a confirmation and a direction. Even if she didn't know what her ability meant, it was only going to be a matter of time before one government agency or another picked her up and trained her to be the Hero of the Free World. When Deus finally came knocking after graduation and before she enlisted, America was more than ready to join and fully realize her destiny.
Too bad it's a destiny she apparently shares with every other goddamn person in Deus.
What is her current opinion of Deus and Hunters? It's a job. It's
her job and possibly the only way she'll be able to make a difference for good in the world. All the more since half the leadership is fairly corrupt, leaving the ranks to be the ones to take care of their own. Even though there are many oppressive and negative factors within, the island is her home, not her prison.
