User Image Rowan and Thebe were quietly sleeping in the stroller when Morgan wheeled them into the front yard, finally laying her eyes on their parent's home. She still couldn't get over how her parents had downsized and gotten rid of the two maids they had. "We don't need so much sweetie. A smaller home for a more comfortable life!" She remembered her mom giggling as she said that. They had already made up their minds. She hated them for that.

The jingle of the keys stirred Rowan and she shushed the infant harshly. She wish she could have avoided awakening the stones before coming to see her parents, but they would just make her wait until she had finished school to awaken them. This was the only option and she was regretting it already, but it was all for a cause she believed in. A cause that would let her not work and live her life more freely.

"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" The hybrid swung the big wooden door open to the foyer of the home. The soft scent of fresh baked bread filled her nose as she rolled the double stroller in. "Anyone?" It took a few moments, but steps from the kitchen were soon heard.

"Honey, is that you? Why, what a surprise! We haven't heard from you in forever!" Her mother rounded the corner from the kitchen with a wide smile. "How have you-" The woman's sentence was cut short when her eyes laid upon the stroller Morgan had in hand. The silverware her mother had been holding onto clattered as they hit the ground, echoing through the quiet home. "Morgan... You..." The woman's loud voice had become quiet as she stared in shock.

"What's with all the racket!?" A gruff voice came from upstairs. "Sue? Are you alright?" Hurried footsteps followed as the hybrid's father descended from his room.

Sue remained quiet, still staring in disbelief as her husband joined her. He eyed the stroller and chuckled. "Nice joke kid."

But the sudden upset of Thebe, and soon Rowan, made it all too real to her parents. Morgan rocked the stroller gently, trying to calm the babies so they wouldn't start wailing.

"You're grandparents! Excited?" She wheeled the children over to her parents who seemed to be glued to the floor.

"Herald..."

"Do... Do you know...! W-when did you...!? Her father's words caught in his throat as Rowan came into view and opened her tired, clear blue eyes. "How could you!?"

"It wasn't my fault! I was hanging around with someone... They just wanted children so badly! How could I not?" They hybrid lied through her teeth.

Herald tensed, "Even if that were true, you knew the risks! They could have.... These kids could have died!" He looked at them, they seemed healthy if not for their mutations.

"Herald...." Sue could only mutter as she looked at the children.

Morgan picked them up, one in each arm. "Would you have liked it if they had died, dad!?" She feigned offence as she paraded them closer. "All they need is love...."

Morgan's mother reached for one but withdrew her arms quickly when they reached out for her hand. "Morgan... You're in school... You're working to keep up with rent. You don't have time for..." Her eyes never left the wiggling bundles in her arms.

Morgan forcibly handed the each of the babies to her parents. "To be honest, mom, dad.... I quit." Her parents looked shocked. "I had to! And... That's why I came..." Tears welled up in her eyes. "I need you... We need you! I can't work and look after the kids and go to school... I can't do it by myself..."

Rowan and Thebe quietly cooed in her parents arms. Herald looked and Sue and tears were already rolling down Sue's cheeks. "We'll... Do what we can..." He patted his wife on the shoulder and lead her to the living room, turning back to get Morgan to follow. They needed to discuss what they would do about all this, but Morgan was sure her scheme was working.
