Prompt:
Speaking of those rabbits! If you get bitten, for roughly two days after the bite, the injury is cold and the victim will feel random, cold, shooting pains. Their core body temperature will drop and they will often be sent into random fits of shivering. Eventually, these symptoms disappear--and so do the bunnies. Perhaps you, or someone you know, have the unfortunate luck of being attacked by one of these strange little bunnies. Good luck! No medicine seems to help, and no amounts of blankets or hot baths can soothe the chill. You're just going to have to deal with it and hope it gets better...

The shivers that were racing through his body was not helping his extreme want to stay in bed, buried under the covers. Not that even staying under the covers were much of a help as Terry found out. It didn’t help that just as frequent as the shivers, pain would shoot throughout his body as well, starting from the area of the bunny bite he had gotten earlier today. He hadn’t heard anything about the mysterious bunnies, nor the effects of their bites until it had already happened and he had returned home. It wasn’t until he had gotten home that the effects had him him anyway.

Another shiver fit broke him from those thoughts and he burrowed down farther into the blankets with a pitiful whimper, trying to seek any bit of warmth even though he knew from the reports of the bites that nothing would help. It was something he would have to agree with since at this point he was completely covered by about three layers of blankets as well as a few layers of clothes and he still felt like he had stepped out into snow in nothing but a pair of shorts. And he knew what that felt like seeing how years ago Matt had dared him to do so for only a minute.

Quote:
Seung had heard of the bunnies turning up, all white and tiny, and he had wondered about it. It didn’t seem normal or even possible, given how cold it was getting outside, he had even seen a bunny or two on campus grounds earlier in the day. He hadn’t gone near them, not wanting to scare them, but he’d seen others go over to try and feed them and the like. One of the girls had cried out after being bitten by a bunny, that had then scurried off.

He hadn’t known Terry had spotted one of the elusive bunnies, and had approached it much less been bitten by it, had he known he’d have headed home as he’d heard from a classmate about the side effects.

He was on the way home when he’d gotten a text from Terry’s brother, Matt, telling him that Terry was at home and buried under a mountain of blankets and he should get home and take care of his boyfriend, Matt had to run out but would be waiting till he got home. So he hurried as soon as he got off the buss, he hurried his way home and as soon as he reached the house he was unlocking the door and almost throwing it open as he kicked off his shoes and dropped his school bag on the floor.

His coat landed on the living room couch as he headed for his and Terry’s room, calling out to Matt on the way. “I’m home, can go now - thank you!” Yeong seemed to have sensed something was going on as he was curled up on the floor by the bed, on his pillow bed. “Terry?”

Quote:
Matt gave Seung a quick grateful smile and a nod as the other rushed by then left the house, safe in knowing that his brother would be taken care of.

He had heard the footsteps in a distant, not really important at this point of time, sort of way as he curled in on himself. Just before said footsteps he had felt Ace burrow under the blankets with him to cuddle up to his back but even the small cat’s heat hadn’t made one lick of difference. Still he didn’t pay much attention to anything outside of his misery until he heard Seung speak up and even then it was very muffled thanks to the blankets. “Hmm?” He gave another whimper as another shiver fit hit him, making Ace curl closer as if to try and calm them. He had no idea what the other man might be feeling if he was paying attention to their necklace bond, or if he was accidently ‘sending’ anything either but it wasn’t something he was even thinking about since his thoughts wanted to keep coming back to how absolutely cold he felt.

Quote:
Watching the blanket pile, dark eyes concerned and worried, he could feel the others emotions and he shivered. The other was clearly suffering, feeling miserable and in pain - his poor Terry! Standing there a moment, watching the blankets, Seung shifted from foot to foot trying to think of just what to do. “Hot drink?” He called out while moving over toward the bed and sitting on the edge, prodding the other gently.

It was when he felt another wave of misery from Terry that he kicked off his socks and lifted the bedding - all of it and crawled under it. Letting the blanket cover himself he shifted under everything to get comfortable before reaching out, under all the blankets, for Terry. Pulling the other into his arms and against himself.

“You got bitten…” He whispered, one hand gently running up and down the others back. “I have you Terry - will take care of you.”

Quote:
Terry didn’t honestly register the question from Seung about whether he wanted a hot drink or not, though if he had he would have told him that he had tried that when he first got home and the symptoms had shown up. Instead he was a bit more focused on curling into a little ball to try and warm up, though the ball didn’t last long when Seung slipped under all of the covers with him. “Tried to get the bunny out of the road.” He said when his boyfriend said he got bitten as he cuddled as close as he could to the other, hoping the other man’s body heat would do what tiny Ace could not. It was too soon to tell if it would or not but he was quite willing to try. “Gonna get overheated.” He said after a moment and the thought of Seung being under all the layers with him could do to the other even if it wasn’t doing anything for him. Not that he wasn’t grateful for the other man trying and he showed it by pressing a light kiss to Seung’s cheek.

Quote:
Ohh, that made sense. Terry would try and get it out of the road, had he heard about the issue with them beforehand though? He wondered if that would have even stopped Terry from trying tp protect the rabbit and save it from potential danger.

“I know.” And he moved for a moment, putting some distance between himself and Terry, so he could remove his own clothing so he didn’t overheat. He wasn’t suffering like Terry and so would indeed overheat...unless he stripped down. Left in his boxers, because those were a need, Seung slipped his clothing out from between the blankets, a hand or a foot poking out here and there, and his clothing falling to the floor - stared at by Yeong.

Once that was done he was pulling the other to himself against and holding onto him, petting his hair gently as he pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Will call in sick to work and school.” Something he normally wouldn’t do, even if it was for himself. But for Terry he would, Terry needed him.

Quote:
Terry laid there shivering, though thankful, as Seung moved away to at least get out of his clothes. It would help the other man at least be not as hot, though for himself the thought of stripping anything off at the moment was shied away from. “Better?” He asked when Seung had stripped down to his boxers and returned to the bed. Though he didn’t wait for a response to his question and instead cuddled right back into the other man while trying to ignore the pain once again shooting through his body. “You sure?” He would rather his boyfriend stayed with him, even if it turned out he couldn’t do anything for him, just because he felt cold and miserable and very much wanted to cling to any possible warmth. Thoughts beyond that were rather fleeting once possibly addressed like his earlier comment about Seung overheating.

While Seung was getting undress, Ace had slipped out of the covers to go curl up with Yeong and stare at the bed.

Quote:
“Better.” He confirmed as Terry went back to using him as a body pillow of sorts, cuddling right up to him. He could pick up a lot of what the other was feeling and while scrambled, at times, he knew the other was suffering and that was likely the cause for the mixed emotions, and feelings, that he was getting.

Biting back a whimper of his own, Terry had to be really hurting for him to feel the others hurt. It wasn’t like he felt pain but he felt the others emotions, or at least the strong ones, and Terry was in pain and it was strong. He felt it in his mind not his body like Terry did. “Took pain medicine?” He asked, whispering into the other's hair, one hand back on Terry’s back moving up and down as he hoped to soothe the other.

“I am sure...will explain partner needs me and is sick.” It was on the news about the rabbits so it wouldn’t be hard to explain. His boss...he’d lie and say girlfriend but for school he could say boyfriend, it wouldn’t be an issue there. His boss and their spouse were older Koreans, his grandparents age, and he knew how the older generation thought. Terry felt just so sad and needy...like a child who was sick and needed their parent. It pulled at Seung and had him pulling the other as tight to his own body as he could, tossing a leg over the other as he sought to keep him as close as he could in the hopes of warming him - even just a little.

Quote:
Terry gave a short confirming sound at the question, though he didn’t quite remember what he took really. “Took something. Matt helped clean the bite.” He said after a moment, biting back another whimper. He hadn’t come across anything that actually helped with the different symptoms the bites caused when he looked up the news and honestly had wondered out loud if the bunny bites were a bit like the bat attacks in October, at least until that thought was lost to the cold and pain.

“M’kay.” Was all he had to say to the response to his question, more focused on how the other man was wrapping around him. At this point he thought the cold might be slightly better but couldn’t be sure since the shivers were still as strong as earlier. Right now since it was so soon after the reports of the bites coming in, he had no clue how long the chills would be hanging around but he already wanted them and the pain gone.

Quote:
“Not leaving you.” He whispered, though with the blankets covering even their heads he was feeling a touch claustrophobic...too closed in. He didn’t want to move the blankets though, for Terry’s sake, it kept the heat in and could possibly help him in warming up. “Is good that Matt helped.” He’d thank the others elder brother later, not that he needed to.

Seung already figured he’d wait till the other fell asleep before eating, not that he was hungry now but for when he was. He’d stay with Terry when the other was awake and suffering, he really hoped it wouldn’t last long. As he thought about this the darker eyed of the two leaned in to press a kiss to the others cheek. “Wonder what is behind the bunnies...they are not normal...bunnies out in this cold...and this.” Nosing at the other to indicate the state Terry was currently in.

“Like the bats...but other illness.” What would they call this illness he wondered.

Quote:
“Promise?” Terry asked, feeling like a needy child but unable to help it. Normally he would have caught the other’s uncomfortableness about being buried under the covers like this but right now he couldn’t concentrate on anything the other man was feeling, only the cold and pain. “Mmhm, Matt always helps.” He said after a moment. His brother usually took his duties as big brother seriously, even when he was only a year older, so it hadn’t been unusual when he was growing up to be patched up by the other.

When Seung started to question about the bunnies and brought up how it was similar with the bat’s, something he had already figured earlier, Terry gave a short nod that was probably felt more then seen. “Not sure, maybe Mau’s can figure it out?” He asked as he tucked his legs closer to the other man. He couldn’t think of what could be behind the animal attacks beyond something to do with chaos but then again he couldn’t think of much right now.

Quote:
“Maybe they know...maybe not.” He wasn’t entirely sure a mauvian would know or could even figure out what was going on. Maybe though? Maybe they could figure something out but wouldn’t they need a bat or a rabbit for that? Or maybe not, he really wasn’t sure considering magic was involved. He also had no want to get near to a rabbit and end up like Terry, and have the other having to care for him.

With their legs well and truly tangled together he held the other to himself, moving in to gently nuzzle at the other. His hands slipping up the layers of clothing Terry wore and rubbing gently at his back.

Laying his head on the others shoulder, pressing his lips to the side of Terry’s neck he whispered against his skin. “Promise, will stay with you till better.” It wasn’t like he could run off, he lived here, he wouldn’t abandon the other when Terry clearly needed him. “Should sleep...might help...won’t feel so cold then.” Though how to fall asleep when your emotions were so...all over the place like Terry’s were? “Tried sleep aid?” He questioned while wondering if there was a way to help tire the other out so he could sleep and at least, if only for a short time, escape the feeling of being cold.

Quote:
“Haven’t even heard if anyone was investigating the bats.” Terry said, more to himself then to Seung. He wasn’t sure who would know for sure what was going on but he did know that he was probably not going to be the one figuring it out.

As Seung cuddled him and ran his hands over him, Terry relaxed. Either the cold was dying down for a bit, and he had read that it tended to come in random waves if he was remembering right, or the other man was helping a lot as he was starting to warm up a bit. At least he felt less ‘hypothermic’ and a few steps closer to ‘ currently having a cold shower’. “Thanks.” He said then pressed a kiss to Seung’s collar bone. “I don’t think so? Could try one.” He didn’t think Matt gave him anything to sleep, nor did he remember taking anything himself for that anyway.

Quote:
He didn’t think anyone was investigating the bats, though someone really should. Those bats had not been normal, in size or in the after effects from their bite. He did wonder if someone wasn’t investigating lowkey though, it would make some sense really. That wasn’t important right now though, far from it.

“Have anything to help with sleep?” He asked softly, while pressing his nose into the others skin and gently inhaling. If Terry could sleep he wouldn’t feel the cold and could, for a short time, have some relief from it. It wouldn’t stop the effects of the rabbits bite but it would bring him closer to it’s end, whenever that would be, and he wouldn’t have to suffer during that time. He didn’t like knowing he was suffering especially when he could feel it. It hurt...and upset him.

Quote:
Later if asked then he could have to agree with Seung that it was more than likely someone was lowkey investigating the bats, and probably the bunnies by now as well. “Probably? Not sure.” He said as he tried to think of anything that would just be sleep aids. “If so then it would be in the medicine cabinet.” There might be some melatonin at least though that would knock him out for hours. Terry gave a small shrug and nuzzled Seung. “I don’t remember what we have on hand though.”

Quote:
“I’ll go see.” As reluctant as he was he pulled away from the other and slid out from under the blankets. The cool air of the bedroom hitting his bare skin and causing him to shiver. He padded his way, rather quickly, to the bathroom to look for any sleep aids to help Terry.

When he did find something, melatonin pills, he went to get a glass of water and returned to their bedroom to nudge the other. Setting the glass of water, room temperature, on the table with the pills he moved to help the other sit up and pull the blankets down enough that he could see the others face. “Found something.” He said before reaching for the pills and offering them to Terry. The water was then picked up and held in front of the other, offering to help him drinking some down.

Quote:
“Ok, thanks.” Terry said then cuddled in on himself as Seung left him and the covers, the cool air triggering yet another shiver fit. They had thankfully died down by the time Seung was back with the glass and pills, though having to move out from under the covers enough to sit up and take said pills almost caused another. “Thank you.” He said then took the pills and washed it down with the water with Seung’s help. Once that was done he was quick to bury himself back under the covers fully.

He did reluctantly remove a few of his layers so he wouldn’t bodily overheat if his temperature went back to normal, then shoved the clothes out from under the covers. Once Seung was back under the covers and cuddled up to him, Terry settled down to hopefully sleep off the cold and pain for a while.

Quote:
Setting the glass of water back down on the bedside table he crawled under the bedding, after Terry and ditched his own clothing out the side of the bed. “You sure you’ll be warm….” He whispered, as the other cuddled against him. His fingers carding through the others hair. “Just rest, you need it.” He whispered against the others bare skin. He needed to get better, he didn’t like how much pain the other was in and just how...depressed or maybe it was misery..he felt coming off the other. Holding him just a bit tighter he pressed a kiss to whatever flesh he was close to, not wanting to move in order to properly kiss the other.
