OOC For those still starting, you are free to post, please read page 1 first, then respond to page 1, page 4, and then finally page 8!) Lumiouse city far exceeded your expectations. And it wasn't even the fact that you nearly got run over by a group of bikers for some reason circling the perimeters of Lumiouse City gym, each of them holding an egg and shouting maniacally about something about shinies, or even the fact that consistently, every five steps, there would be some kid asking if you really really wanted his Wurmple for "wonder" trade. No, it probably had to do with the fact that the city was beyond crowded. It was a few people short of a full out riot, due to a very recent local attraction that had popped up right in the middle of city, right on top of that aforementioned gym.
Perched on the highest point of the tower was a large black-red monstrosity that seemed to suck any visible light around it into pinpoints of shadow. Your pokedex defined it as Yvetal, but the image on the dex didn't quite match. As you navigate through seas of bodies to get a better look, you can see the police already trying to form a barricade around the city away from the stationary creature. People were shouting now, some nervous, most angry, and bodies were pushing you forward, uncontrollably, towards what was most definitely now a riot.
You can hear almost incoherent angry shouts, and it takes a fair bit longer for you to extract yourself away from the mass, away from the traffic pileup and the trainers flying in to see for themselves this unusual phenomenon. Legendary pokemon never flew in this close, considered uncontrollable deities of this world. Few to none had ever been recorded.
It takes you a little longer locate where you were actually supposed to go, to deliver a note to the local Professor. The lab was the smallest, most pathetic one you've seen so far in any experience, pretty much just a sit-in basement behind the bike shop, with a sign that said "PROFESSOR AWESOME IS HERE" that hadn't seen any form of maintenance in what seemed like centuries. After following two back alley doors, you finally got to the place, the door already wide open. Immediately the smell of putrid fruit overwhelms you, causing a small gag reflex before you attempt your venture a second time. Bottles of Cheri Beer are strewn on the ground - short of those, the only visible article of furniture was a very obvious self-made hammock, hanging from a burst pipe and a very precarious nail on the wall. On the back of the wall were some posters of a few tournaments that even you did not care about.
As the professor didn't seem like they would be waking any time soon, maybe it was better to just leave them. It was uncertain if they were even male or female or just some giant shaggy brown-haired monstrosity made entirely out of Zigzagoon fur.
As you head to leave, something catches your eye, a back door in the distance, barely visible thanks to the extreme lack of lighting. There is a computer blinking - someone desperately trying to call into the establishment. Around the computer are the messiest array of pokeballs, empty storage boxes, and what could only be explained as gigantic server towers, some messily taped together to maintain any semblance of balance.
The call finally ends and you see a blinking message in a message box instead:

It was really, really busy. Really busy. Zar wasn't sure what was going on. He wasn't actually very good at pokemon training, or breeding. He mostly researched things, filling up his books with sightings of pokemon he never captured. The only pokemon he'd ever caught was a little black lizard which had grown up into a much bigger, much scarier lizard. She stayed in her pokeball mostly for Reasons.
He'd gotten up the courage to go and see the professor, but the place was an absolute mess, nothing like the stories he'd been told. Nothing was the way it was supposed to be and he was nervous.
At the very least it seemed that he had put most of his funds if not on pokemon or pokemon care into his outfit, all grey and black and very expensive. He didn't wear a hat. This was a remarkable fact.
He eyed the "Professor"
"B..barth." he pointed at the figure. "Do you think he's....?"

Barth toed a dripping bottle. "Drunk," he supplied his fellow researcher. Barth's area of interest was almost entirely in tech, which meant he got very little in the way of recognition (pokemon behaviorists were the one who filled the pages of researcher journals). He could, however, afford to have a silly hobby. His family was very, very well off, but it was his older brother that carried all the titles and responsibilities. Leaving him with a lot of not-creating-scandals allowance and a lot of tinkering to spend it on.
He seemed more concerned with the tower set up.
"Do you know, I don't think I've ever seen servers this big, balanced this precariously."
He leaned forward, and with a dexterous tap, clicked the blinking message.

Sammy wandered in not far behind Barth, and Zar, in her hand she was tossing a single luxury ball into the air. "Hey, anybody ho-"
She stopped short as she nearly gagged on the smell of the cherri beer. Still someone was already inside and so she followed in catching site of Barth and Zar, with Barth looking over the computer. She followed after him a bit wondering what he was poking at.
"Should you be messing with that dude?"
False on the other hand strolled right into the lab covering his face with a small rag as he entered. "Charming, we have a giant beast perched around and the professor is drunk off their a**...." He strolled right over to them, giving him a rather rude shake to wake him up.

Sweet Fear, the mess of the place! Lareina had impulsively launched herself backwards out of the room, pressed against the wall opposite to the entry way. As if it wasn't bad enough to have to deal with the throng of trainers on the way in, this is where she had to deliver the note? Not to mention that she, a traveling Pokemon medic with an enviable collection of perfectly labeled potions, was relegated to messenger. Once her disgust was tempered back into place, the next impulse was one that she had to carefully fight off: To start cleaning up and cataloging every bit of the mess to create something more fashionably organized. Though, in this world it was probably more natural to want to collect everything. Clearly the professor needed a PokeDex for his life. Given that others were already prompting the pile of potentially human fur, Lareina ignored the professor and found herself interested in what the individual clicking on the computer was up to, "Do you work here?" It was hard to hide the wrinkle of horror on her nose, the smell of the place only just tolerable, but at least it meant there was plenty to be curious about.

Lure-Ranger (dark skin, looks like they walked out of an REI add)
For Lure, being a Ranger was about communicating with pokemon. And to them what did communicating with pokemon mean mostly? Roughing it out in the wilderness with nothing but some pokeberries, a sleeping back, a water filter, some spare pokeballs and nets just in case-
Oh, and one repel.
If they say a zubat horde. And ONLY if they saw a zubat horde. One zubat was fine but a horde of them? No thanks, that was a bit much even for an experienced Ranger to handle. However, the recent hike and expedition was over so back into the city they were, just in time to wonder if the collapse of civilization was upon them. Nvere had they seen so many dang people flipping out over, (what they had originally assumed was), a bird. Once no, that wasn't a bird had been established however? Lure just reeled back and decided it was perhaps best to just head to their initial destination.
Upon arrival however, it seemed they were not alone, and the supposed professor was... Lure stared at the being the stranger was shaking.
Pulling out their pokedex, Lure attempted to use it to identify if that actually the professor of just a new type of mutant pokemon.

[ Iyari ]
It was a far cry from her homestead back in Fortree City, laid in concrete and large buildings, but Luminose city still had a charm to it. A charm that made Iyari want to smash people's heads in with how many were blocking her path. A Snorlax in the way would be a blessing at this point. It made her question what she was even doing here. Just deliver it, get to the Herboiste and get back to what's important... Though it was almost impossible to even see the shops as a surge of energy pushed her forward again.
"Hey!" She snapped angrily, throwing an elbow into a face or two as she pried herself away from their clutches, turning to look up at the black and red mass on the tower. "That's trouble." She muttered to herself, before moving back from it. If there had been less people she might have taken some time to look closer, after all it was a rare sight. I bet all the attention is stressing it out though... A soft glance stared up in compassion for the Yvetal before she clicked her boots into the maze of side streets.
"...What..." While there was a Yvetal hanging out on top of the gym this was something she couldn't believe. If looks could kill the small space would be on fire, but she muttered and slipped inside, the gag reflex hitting her like a ton of bricks. She remembered how it was dealing with baby stunky and remembered the bit of wisdom her mother had taught her about smiling. Something about the muscles being used could fight against it. Though, now she looked somewhat crazed as she stepped over a Cheri Beer with a clank.
It was apparent she wasn't the only one there, but her eyes moved to the professor and she let out a terse exhale, leaning against one of the precarious walls, avoiding being stabbed by it. She glanced at the computer and the message, curious about what it said. Though, her curiosity was sated as another person had clicked on it and she peered over. Though, something nagged at her and she looked into her hand and back at the currently useless professor. Who'd want to trust this guy with catching or doing anything?
Something clicked and the paper again. "...Hm." Slowly, she unfolded the note she was supposed to deliver and read it just to see if maybe she had missed something.

Crimson- Painter- By Computers
It was at the insistence of their assistant that Crimson took a break from painting, 'that same damnable flower for the hundredth time it was not going to change in the next five minutes Crimson so just put the damn brush down and eat before your pass out and die. So- the artist known only as Crimson did just that/ Paint stained hands set away the oil inks as their assistant fussed and huffed over the state of the studio, the bright red roses in the vase remaining the sole untouched thing not permanently stained with some form of artistic medium. Usually inks.
However, as the artist washed his hand, he did look out the window. and Well. Well then. They had never been to Luminose City before and since moving from Kanto all of a week ago? Why not go for a little day visit? Besides, they were supposed to go meet that professor...
The day visit had been a mistake. Silent as the grave, Crimson attempted to navigate their way through the many roads and just kept getting hopelessly lost.
When they did end up at the 'Lab' the smell nearly topped them. It was just that powerful. Pulling up their shirt to cover part of their face, they looked around at everyone gathered and slowly went to go look at the message and computer set up.
"....Now this is art." They said, somewhat impressed with the set up.

Elio - Team Flare Grunt - By ProfElio's ability to care for errands was fairly low. Told to go deliver a message? Fine, if they insisted. His sigh as he entered the city was at first, one born of apathy but when they saw what all the commotion was about? That was certainly Interesting. Tipping shades down for a better look, a low whistle escaped them as they admired it. It was possible this was just why he'd been sent to go see the professor. Pokemon like that certainly did require something a tad more intensive than the usual flare, (haha. Elio found that joke never really got old). When they arrived at the hole in the wall professor's hook up, the beer and overall lack of fashion was appalling. Augh. Red suit tucked up to avoid touching anything offensive, they went over to the ones harassing what Elio assumed was the professor. Of what had been at any rate before they'd gotten plastered. "Get called here and we find a dead body. Well. At least we know the cause of death."

[ By the computer ] Unable to tell if their sentiment was sarcasm or true appreciation, she likely should have filtered her words with more care, but she couldn't hold back the biting retort, "If your definition of art is that of a Muk's, sure." At least their nostrils seemed to agree on the matter. She kept an eavesdropping eye on the professor's computer screen, but glanced over at the as yet unidentified artist. "It seems the professor is receiving many messages today, presumably as a result of the new tower topper." Although she wasn't local to Lumiose city, she had been visiting the local PokeCenter long enough to know that the creature atop the gym was not a native attraction to the city. Granted, the near-riot was a good indication of that regardless. "Ah, my apologies, I am Lareina. And you are..?"

Gilly - small pokemon trainer. team - sable eye, paras, mimikyu, doublade.
The crowd was impossible to pass through. Gilly struggled to push her way through to get to the professors lab, but instead was met with elbows and the occasional sweaty armpit. Ugh, doesn't anyone shower?
Gilly reached down to her bag and threw a pokeball. Bam! It accidentally hit someone in the shin.
"Who kicked me?" Gilly flinched as Mimikyu emerged from the ball. The man then turned to the guy next to him. "Hey man what's the big deal?"
"My deal? What's your deal?" the other man replied. Gilly motioned to Mimikyu and he skirted around the two men's feet and made his way back over to her. She glanced sideways at the brawl beginning to form, and raised Mimikyu over her head.
"Do you see it, Pipipyu?" Mimikyu started to motion with his ears, and Gilly made her way in that direction. She reached the door to the lab only to see it already crowded and occupied with a bunch of people. She strained to see what was going on inside.

[Burglar Bing ] The commotion was just what she liked. Most people were too frantic to notice if she picked a pocket or grabbed herself a free PokeCola. Lumiose City was much more developed than her home town of Lavaridge. Definitely more exciting but she did miss her hot springs. It had been a long journey here and the springs back home would have been the perfect reward for a job well done. She took a moment to remember exactly what her job was. Deliver a note to some professor. It wouldn’t be a problem if wasn’t for all the damn people getting in the way. Bing whipped her head around to see what the hysteria was even about. She looked up at the menacing pokemon that the pokedex she stole claimed was a Yvetal. Not interested in that. Not only does it look like it’d kill me, but catching one would make me a target for any gangs, teams, or greedy maniacs.Bing loved pokemon. But she also loved being alive to keep on loving them, so she ignored the monstrosity and kept moving. The crowd was simply too annoying where she was, so she decided plow through them. After taking a little recoil damage from blitzing through the crowd, she finally located the shabby lab. She looked hard for anything of value, but came up short. She stopped at the sleeping mass of fur that she assumed was the professor. She stared at it longer than most would. Before finally throwing the note at their head region. “This is for you. Have fun,” she growled. She was disappointed by the whole affair. She was about to leave when she noticed the computer and the message on it. All she had to say about the message was, “Boooorrring.” She ignored the message and focused her attention on the poke balls nearby the computer. She double checked the pokeballs, hoping to find one that wasn’t empty.

[ Mimi Magloire ] Team: pichu, teddiursa, togepi, comfey, espurr Profession: Breeder
---------------
Mimi was enraptured by the presence of the majestic beast, but she had a mission. A mission she had every intention of completing. And so, as others pushed and shoved, she squeezed her way through the crowd to get the the professor's place.
However, the lab was... well... Mimi had smelt worse, but it was... still pretty bad. Perhaps she would do the professor a favour. Or ruin his life. "Oh mon Dieu, Fifi, sweet scent please!!" Her comfey let out a shrill cry, basking the room with a pleasant floral scent that... only smelled 10 times worse when mixed with the smell of rotting fruit. Good job Mimi good job.
Anyways... where.. WAS the professor?? Aside from the room looking like it had been ransacked by a herd of Tauros and the professor possibly breeding a new breed of piloswine, she wasn't quite sure... if there was ANY evidence of human life here. Well, if the professor wasn't here, it'd be rude to intrude, but... Mimi couldn't help but be intrigued. It wasn't everyday one got called to a professor's lab, and her curiousity got the better of her.
Well, it definitely got the better of her Espurr, as it had been staring intensely at the computer screen (or perhaps it was staring at the blinking light). Mimi felt bad the professor worked in such a chaotic environment, and took it upon herself to help tidy up the place while her espurr pushed every single button visible.

Hex Maniac Mimsy_ No place was called home, but Lumiose felt more like home than anywhere else she and her mother had lived, insofar as Mimsy could imagine home might feel. Maybe it had something to do with the anxious energy and the creature that seemed to want nothing but to turn the whole world to shadow and chaos. That was something that she could respect. Honestly, she couldn't figure out why everyone was making such a fuss; if it wanted to fix this troublesome world by turning it inside-out, it should. They were quite rude for impeding it. Still, this place was really no different than any before it - not on the inside, if one were to take it all apart and see. Her mother always set her on the very same path no matter the terrain, keeping her curiosity at bay with errands and deceptively cyclical scheduling. They never stayed in the same place for long, so she never had any particular need to make friends or learn names, but she did tend to seek out the local Professor for any information they might have on the specifics of the region. Each had such peculiar irregularities when compared to the region before it, and it delighted her to learn about them. The Professor seemed busy today. Or the lab seemed busy, full of people that a lab were not meant to contain, people who would just make a mess of things. The lab didn't seem to like it, but none of its efforts to expel all of these visitors worked one bit. Not the sounds nor the smells nor the prohibitive size. Mimsy hummed an utterly unpleasant, off-key tune as she stared towards the sleeping pile and unwanted people with wide eyes, all while rocking a cradled Mimikyu in her arms like a baby. The pacified creature toyed with a chunk of the girl's unkempt hair as though it were braiding it, but the result appeared to be more like an impossible knot than anything else. This was precisely the sort of situation that her mother had warned her to avoid, considering the fact that she was without supervision in a strange man's basement, but she'd always had a terrible problem with her insatiable curiosity.

[ Camilla Forester ] Being a trainer for some time, Camilla had seen her fair share of legendaries. No, she hadn't caught any because she hadn't felt any need too, yet. In fact, Camilla often enjoyed the adventure it took just to find them more then she would have catching them and enjoyed simply getting their entries in her dex. But, clearly, something was clearly wrong here... Very wrong... Frowning, the almost ginger brown haired girl with short sausage ringlet curls, looks up at the great stationary beast that seemed to be getting the angst of most of the city... Camilla was a Kalos native and she KNEW what that was perched motionlessly on the tower and she knew why people were so upset... Poor Clement and Bonnie must be having a heart attack right now... Yveltal, Legendary Pokemon of destruction... Counterpart to Xerneas, Legendary Pokemon of life... What in the world was it doing here?! "What's going on here..." she mumbles in a concerned tone. Camilla didn't really have time to worry about it, as soon, a frazzled looking assistant pushes his way through the crowd and see's the Dedenne on her shoulder. "Dedenne?" the mouse like Pokemon says as it taps her cheek and points over to the assistant. "Camilla! Mimi! Professor Sycamore has a urgent message that needs to get over to the... Other professor across town!" he says urgently, though he seemed tentative about calling... That one, a professor. Camilla hadn't even known there was a second professor, but she was more then happy to help! Mimi the Dedenne waves at the assistant cheerfully before crawling down to get a better look at the missive her trainer was given. "Ok!" she chirps cheerfully, despite the atmosphere, as she takes the missive and slips it in her seafoam and lavender messenger bag. Sighing with relief, the assistant and her try and pry their way out of the mob that had formed around the tower... It took some doing, but finally the pare make it out. The assistant points out the location on her town map before nodding and heading off to one of the cafes... If the world was going to end, he might as well go out with a good cup of coffee in him... Smiling and waving towards his retreating form, Camilla opens her bag and pulls out a bike that surely shouldn't have fit in there. Once she had it all unfolded and set up, she hops on, as her Dedenne hops in the basket in front, and rides off towards the specified location! The location in question seemed quite odd for a Pokemon Lab... It didn't nearly have the grandeur of Sycamore's lab... Or even the cleanliness of any of the other professor's labs she'd seen... Sure, Kukui's 'lab' wasn't so much a lab but a beach shack, it was at least a well kept beach shack. This... This was frankly gross... The overwhelming smell of rotten berries made her inner trainer cry and the intense smell nearly makes her and her Dedenne gag! The bottles upon bottles of cheri beer strewn about the ground wasn't a good sign either... Now she understood why the assistant seemed tentative about calling this guy a professor... Camilla was and wasn't surprised to find other people were there all with similar missives to her. Different stamps were upon the envelops, however; one's she recognized from various other professors... Why would they be contacting this two bit professor so urgently? Quietly, while others seemed intent on either opening their letters or trying to wake the furry lump of professor, Camilla wanted to read the message on screen. Her eye's widen as she listens to the message and it causes her to tap her chin curiously. Couldn't Yveltal be caught with a regular Pokeball? Was it somehow different from other legendaries? Considering the power it was reputed to have, it wouldn't surprise her much if it couldn't be caught normally.
