Caiden could not sit still. He had been meeting up with Xavier every now and then to practice the art of noise-making, but this was his first time preforming for anyone besides Xavier, CamoDad and Autumn. The brownblood jumped up from his seat again, and went to look at the string-pluck instrument he had brought. After his GameBro battle with Engrav, where Caiden had rolled a bard and played a lute, the brownblood could not keep his mind off the amazing instrument. He also could not keep his eyes off of the noise stick that Xavier wielded. The greenblood had obviously improved in his whittling, and it showed in his excellent craftsmanship of the screech stick. "Xavier your so good at making these!" The brownblood said, his eyes drinking in the small music concert that Nucleo had let them set up here. "And Amonee~!!" Caiden exclaimed, running back and forth in front of the large sign the jadeblood had painted, seeing it from all sides. "Your painting is JUST GREAT!" Caiden scampered between the various exciting things, and exclaimed loudly about how nice they all were. "AND NUCLEO!" The boy yelled, riling himself up, "THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LETTING US DO THIS HERE!" The boy ran between his friends, giving each of them tight hugs. "THIS IS GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUN!"

It was a night to remember! Amonee couldn't be happier at the small concert set up that Xavier and Caiden had arranged. He was looking forward to hearing their performance. The other jadeblood was very good and practiced occasionally during their travels which always gave the journey a whimsical adventurous feel to it. Caiden's musical abilities were a complete mystery to the painter but he was sure they would be loud and passionate like the orangeblood was.

"Thank you, Cai! I'm so excited to hear you guys." He placed a small tray of drinks down for them all to drink. He'd finally gotten the hang of the new froth machine and could make drinks without exploding half of them dripping over the counter. The drinks were covered in whipped cream and sugar petals. Anyone who drank it would likely suffer a bad sugar crash hours later.

"Drum up a lot of business, okay?" Amonee beamed, peppy and bouncy at the chance to hang around the Nightly Grind again. Nucleo had been fairly depressed lately and not keeping the shop open as much. Perhaps a boost in sales thanks to Alternia's most talented musicians would help cheer the barista up!

Amonee watched from behind the counter, eager for the night's work spruced up by lovely music!

Xavier had some reservation about having any kind of match off especially something that put him front and center. However, he had come to the Nightly Grind with the idea in mind it would be a fun evening. Friends would be there, and with any luck a few patrons might even make themselves known. If anything it was a night for fun and celebration among friends. A smile spread across the jadeblood's lips as he settled down into a chair near one of the microphones they'd setup. The tin whistle he had tonight was recently crafted specially for the occasion.

His eyes widened as the other troll exclaimed suddenly he was good at making his prefered musical instrument. Jade dotted his freckled cheeks as he chuckled sheepishly rubbing his neck. "Thanks! I've had time to practice how to make them. You are going to do awesome as well." He encouraged despite his own restless energy.

Xavier's eyes traveled first towards the tealblood troll he'd invited to come tonight. "Eilidh~ Thanks for coming." He chewed on his bottom lip thoughtfully, although he knew she'd root for either troll. Everyone here was friends in one way or another, it was a circle that slowly kept expanding. It was pleasant truly. Xavier's gaze flickered to Amonee. "We'll try that's for sure." He smiled finally a bright energetic one despite himself.

"Nucleo, how does weekly poetry or music sessions sound to yuh?" He raised a brow, a curious gleam in his eyes as he looked to his barista friend. While he'd been worried about him, he wanted the other to know he fully supported him and had his back just as always. Anything they could do to help him even in a small way was a victory by the jadeblood's books.

"Hm..I'm about ready if you are Caiden?" He inquired with a curious tilt of his head as he sat up a little taller in his seat. With any luck he wouldn't make a fool of himself in front of his friends..or a crowd.

Caiden looked all around when Xavier said Eilidh's name. "Eilidh is here?!? WHERE IS SHE? HI EILIDH!!" Caiden yelled from on "stage". He made to go run off and find her, and tackle her in a hug, when Xavier said something really exciting. Ready if you are. The brownblood could not stop beaming. "Yes!" He said, pumping a fist into the air and grabbing his lute. The boy stopped smiling for a second, focusing on the lute. He wiggled his fingers, making sure they were all there, and then placed them carefully on the strings. The boy inhaled deeply, silent for longer than he had been since he woke up this evening, and breathed out, his fingers plucking the lute strings carefully.

"It's no trouble at all, Caiden." Nucleo smiled as the orangeblood ran around excitedly thanking everyone. He'd been a little apprehensive about having Caiden and Xavier play live here at The Nightly Grind but not because they were bad musicians. It was more that he hadn't been keeping the cafe open as much lately so the customer base might not be as likely to show up. Still, those faces shining with hope encouraged him to give it a chance anyway.

"Sounds like fun to me." The greenblood nodded to Xavier, the other musician participant of the day. Everyone currently here tended to visit the shop every other day anyway so if they wanted to start hosting weekly activities that sounded lovely to him. He wanted to support all of his artist friends in their work. The glint of pink around Amonee's neck reminded him everyday of what beautiful things his friends were capable of.

"Sounds great." The barista encouraged, once the music started, giving Eilidh and Amonee a wink to do the same.

Xavier still was still not entirely certain about preforming tonight, or any day or time for that matter. Normally he made his way out into the mountains of Busthind and Four Fronds to find places to play. Not performing inside where he worked, and before an audience. It would be alright, both he and Caiden had a good support network.

It showed in those who had attended.

His gaze fell on Nucleo as he said it wasn't a bad idea. The jadeblood's cheeks dotted with his jade hue as the other winked. Oh what was he getting himself into? "T-thanks!" Xavier beamed then, a swell of pride and excitement even if not a great deal came of the venture. Perhaps they could have other trolls try their hand if they felt up to joining in. Although he had to admit it was exciting, if anything to see how far both Caiden and himself had come.

Music had been part of the jadeblood's life from the earliest memories. Being on stage made him nervous, but as he pressed his lips to the tin whistle. "Here goes nothing.." He murmured, more to himself really as Xavier began playing. Thankfully the sound came across clearly enough as he joined in, playing a few notes to start to begin the musical exchange. His fingers moved over the tin whistle as he played before he sat up in his chair to try and appear more confident than he felt truly. Xavier found a comfortable rhythm to begin their duet at, pacing himself as he started in to match.

Eilidh had slipped into the Nightly Grind, having been invited to see her friend Caiden as well as the troll she had feelings for. She smiled shyly as she shift through the crowd to Nucleo and Amonee. "Glad I didn't miss it..." She whispered, flushing teal as she heard her name.

She smiled softly, cautiously raising her hand. "H-Here C-Caiden..." She called out, biting at her lip nervously. "Y-You guys g-got this!" She cheered for them both, not picking an official side.

Caiden swayed to Xavier's tune, getting lost in the sound, hardly remembering it was a "battle" at all. This was certainly nothing like the battle that tealblood had gotten him into, and for that he was thankful. Caiden grinned as Eilidh waved at him, and he caught Nucleo's eye, beaming bright for his friend. Nucleo was seeming down, it was obviously becaouse he couldn't hear all of Caiden's heart in his song! Brow furrowed, Caiden focused on the lute in his hands, and the song in his mind. This had to cheer Nucleo up, otherwise... well Caiden would just have to do something special for him later if it didn't.

Xavier was smiling without even realizing it, a light sway to his figure as he listened as Caiden's fingers moved over his lute. The way Caiden played his next string of notes, made Xavier want to match the tune in his mind. His mind was lost in the airy melody as he joined in his own to tone to accompany the folk-like quality he was so passionately playing at. Xavier was use to the accompanying sound of air, or a running stream behind him when he played..but the comfort of the cafe made it fun to translate if anything.

His attention mostly was on the music exchange, although he felt comfortable as he found a smooth rhythm, shifting in his seat as he continued to play aiming to be harmonious with the other, rather than competing over him intentionally.'

The music was sounding so good and Amonee could barely contain his excitement as the two battled back and forth. Caiden's playing was so passionate and playful! It made him feel happy just hearing it, watching Caiden's enthusiasm live only amplified the feel good vibes! Meanwhile Xavier had that laid back relaxed sound that was so like the jadeblood. It was almost haunting but in a beautiful way.

"Really makes you want to get up and dance, doesn't it?" His eyes sparkled and he took Eilidh's hands as she approached them, leading her into a spin. The tealblood girl was so cute and he found her shyness endearing. Nucleo seemed to be enjoying the music from behind the counter which meant they had a little time to goof off maybe!

Amonee wasn't particularly skilled at dancing but he hoped it was the thought that counted and that as long as he didn't step on Eilidh, maybe she would indulge him!

"Can you do Waltzing Matilda? Oh please!" He called out to Caiden and Xavier, clearly he'd be fine with anything but how could one resist making a request when they sounded so good?

Caiden gave Xavier an inquisitive look as Amonee called out for a particular song. Caiden didn't really know songs, he just had feelings and ideas and interests, and he conveyed all his joy for life through the lute. "You start it up Xavier, ill fallow your lead!" The brownblood said. Then Caiden saw a yellowblooded troll in the audience, and he almost threw his hands up into the air to wave. But that would interrupt this great flow of music that was happening. So instead, Caiden called out to Elidae, in song. "Theres this yellowblood in town, she just came around. All my friends in the audience, do me a big favor, and turn to Elidae and smile, cuz shes a lifesaver."

Xavier felt his brows raise as Caiden looked to him with what he could only describe as hopeful. His expression brightened slightly as Amonee asked for something a little more lively to dance to he could only assume. Picking up the pace perhaps just a little to provide that atmosphere. While not with the same volume, Xavier played with gusto. His fingers quickly moved across the whistle as he responded in kind.

When asked to turn and face the yellowblood Caiden had invited, he greeted with a small trill on the instrument as part of his song and a brief smile. Seeing Amonee give Eilidh a small spin made his pump biscuit tight. All those gathered were truly connected by the ties of friendship in one fashion or another. Nucleo with any luck would see first hand the support and care everyone wanted to give the other troll. It was such a rich positive space.

Life was hard on alternia, stealing little moments like these were invaluable.

Last time Elidae Bonbon had been at the Nightly Grind, she was in very different kind of company. Outside of the cafe, she could hear the jovial murmuring and shuffling of trolls accompanied with some folk music. A very different kind of setting than what was in the city. Taking in a sharp breath of frigid air, she reached out a hand to open the door and braced herself.

In the room were some familiar faces, but most entirely foreign to her. The yellowblood had just stepped through the front door to Busthind's favorite cafe and taken off her coat, when a familiar voice rang through, calling her name in song. Staggering, Elidae blinked in utter surprise, before donning a wide and elated smile.

"Oh, hey, Caiden!" Elidae greeted with a wide wave, a tint of yellow appearing on her cheeks as she felt the eyes of the room suddenly on her. Really, she should be used to that by now! Offering the greenblood beside him a warm smile in return, she called with joy, "Wouldn't miss it!" before taking a seat at the bar, turning her body towards the concert so she could continue to watch. Lifesaver? She thought curiously, moving her foot to the pleasant music and placing her elbow on the counter for balance.

Breathing in the rich aroma of the cafe, Elidae wondered for a moment why she hadn't stopped by more often. Though her friendship with the owner seemed scarce since the last time she spoke with him. Her eyes shifted only once to the barista with a nervous feeling in her gut. If it hadn't been for him, she wouldn't have formed her strong bond with Kursha. But the interaction had still left an ill taste in her mouth. Something just wasn't right...

Quickly scanning the room for something else to think about, she noticed the ever attractive Amonee dance with a darling tealblood. She wondered vaguely on their relationship; perhaps she could question Amonee about it later. He certainly had many questions about her own personal relations the last time she saw him at her work.

Caiden was so happy. Almost all his friends were here, and they had smiles on their face. Xavier was mellow, as usual, but the brownblood could have sworn he saw the jadeblood grin a little more than usual. Its probably hard to grin with a shriek stick in ones mouth, Caiden rationalized. The brownblood laughed, he felt so free, so light, so happy. A dark feeling had been growing in his chest ever since he had gotten hit by the blueblood. But now, here, it felt like it had never happened, like that feeling never existed. Butterflies started to swirl around, dancing to the music, and Caiden's grin only grew. Now that he actually knew how to, they always seemed to appear when something exciting was happening.
