Quote:
It was like any other light, winter snow. It was chilly and clouds hung in the sky but if you looked up you could swear you could still see the stars. The snow falls gently and coats the ground in a light layer--but these aren't normal snowflakes. Mixed in with the regular snow, crystalized snowflakes seem to be falling. These are roughly the size of a quarter and are light and hollow. They are fragile, like glass, but glisten like a fine cut gem. No one can explain this anomaly, but these small snowflakes won't melt. And they are all over Destiny City. You can find them gently falling to the ground, or lying in the fresh fallen snow. They don't seem evil--but they do make for some cute keepsakes!

One one hand, the song Let it Snow was playing around in his head. On the other hand, peering up at the cloudy, snowy sky and still kind of seeing stars made him bristle uneasily. If it was just normal snow with patchy clouds, he'd shrug it off.

Instead, his boots kept crunching over what sounded like glass, and after a while, he began to realize the source. Snowflakes, small, but still far larger than they should be and crystalized peppered the ground and made his brow furrow. The reports were all over about the stuff, and touching them didn't make them melt--weird. But even as unnerved as he was by the weather phenomenon, he wasn't entirely sure if he could go to his usual sources for blame--the senshi.

Surely not even their strongest had this sort of strength, the notion alone made him snort. Some of them were powerful, yes, but even this was excessive for them.

...right?

Gritting his teeth, the Negaverse Lieutenant kept moving, trying to focus on his patrol and not the strange glinting snowflakes. Though, he did debate briefly if collecting some would work as a gift...

That thought was derailed almost as soon as it came into his head, a new energy signature catching his attention and making him pause. Pale eyes turned in the direction he was sensing the signature, brows furrowed and jaw set. It was not Negaverse, but it still felt like... Chaos? Senshi. Yet not. He'd felt something similar before, when he and Jet had dealt with that White Moon Senshi and the darker garbed senshi she'd been with. A corner of his mouth twisted in a partial grimace, recalling what had transpired in that mess. Still, he trudged forward, across the snowy rooftops as silently as a six-foot-three guy in military boots could. He still wasn't sure what sort of senshi that one had been, and figured that, if nothing else, this might give him a better sense of what else was in the city.

Sorry for the delay! ;;

It was colder than Juliet would have expected, normally, but she seemed more resistant to the cold like this. Certainly not enough to excuse sub-zero temperatures, if they ended up going to that sort of place -- but her interest had been piqued by the crystalline snowflakes. She felt a sort of kinship with them, not that she'd ever tell a soul. (She was allowed, perhaps, to have secrets. IT wouldn't hurt anyone.) Even moreso, with her identity as Juliet, the cold and the white -- she had always felt at home there and then, now more than ever.

People didn't usually come to this corner of the park on days like this, with the wind picking up and her overlay pushed back to float in the wind, the metal benches too cold for anyone -- but Juliet, after all, wasn't people. She was whatever people would want her to be, and with snow lighting on the bench behind her and her blue eyes cast out into the sky, she had an array of the crystalline snowflakes laid out in a row. They were organized by size, in symmetrical order -- for no purpose, really. But it was nice, to do, to give it some purpose.

Juliet was already pale-skinned, but against the snow in her dark fuku, she might as well have been porcelain.

Parks were notorious areas for ambushing civilians for energy drains--and for youma attacks, and for spaces to attack Order. That he was heading further into one now didn't surprise him much, but that he found a figure alone in the winter air, did make him lift a brow.

If it wasn't for the fact he could sense an energy signature from the area, he'd have almost thought the tiny figure was a large doll, but he wasn't going to believe someone just happened to set up a mannequin with a black-dominant uniform reminiscent of the style the other Dark Mirror had worn. Different accompanying colors, and Seraphinite noted clouds where the other Dark Mirror had looked like a lame pirate, but he put enough together to feel confident in his assessment.

His eyes drifted down, noting the arrangement of the crystalline snowflakes and his head faintly tilted to the side. An admirer of whatever fashioned them, or aware of the source?

"Works of yours?" His voice wasn't gentle by a long shot, but it was neutral, watching her with careful eyes. Senshi had magic. His luck with magic was rather horrific, and he wasn't inclined to give this senshi a chance to screw him over with whatever her magic was capable of. But if he wanted information, he knew brute force would only prolong the time till he'd likely get it--if he managed it at all.

Not sure if she was sitting or not--sorry if I misread!

There was almost a visible delay between Seraphinite's speech and Juliet's processing of it - she tilted her head up to meet his eyes, her own clear and blue. There wasn't necessarily any higher thought going on or anything - she just took time to respond and understand, sometimes, and this was one of those occasions. She was, as always, somewhere else entirely when it came to her mind; and Seraphinite had to wait for things to get transmitted back.

"I'm not much of a crafter," she demurred, hands placed politely one-on-top-of-the-other on her lap. "I feel a kinship to it, I suppose, given my powers -- but it is just snow and ice, for all the beauty in it. If I could create something as lovely, I would be quite pleased with myself."

The delay in response made him frown, the cynic in him half-expecting it to lead up to an attack or finding the girl was nothing more than some illusion. But she did, eventually, move and respond, though her wording did little to dispel the concerns.

"What sort of senshi are you then?" Again his gaze flickered over her uniform, taking in the cloud motif, before looking down to the ground and finding another of those odd, hollow, crystal snowflakes. Lifting it up with his bare hand, he watched as the real snow began to melt against his warm skin, while the larger crystal snowflake remained.

"I've never seen just snow and ice that refuses to melt, so I can't agree with you on your assessment of that being all these are." After going silent for a moment, he moved forward, watching her still for sudden movements, as he set the snowflake he'd picked up in line with the others she'd arranged, keeping to the theme of by size.

"Ever seen anything like it before?"

"I am," and here Juliet rose from the bench, brushing off her overlay of any trespassing snow, "Sailor Juliet of Whiteouts, of the Dark Mirror Court." She curtsied, posture perfect, not a hair out of place. "I've met few others of my alignment, and those I have met have all been of higher power than I, so it's hardly your fault for not knowing." The words themself might have been rude, but there was absolutely nothing in Juliet's delivery to imply any falsehood or spite.

"My magic creates snow, but otherwise -- no, I've never seen anything similar. Beautiful, aren't they?"

Though he'd met her curtsy--a surprise, to be sure--with a polite bow, one arm bent at his back, Seraphinite's expression darkened a bit at her words as he straightened. He'd been asking of her power, not her court, and while his wording had been poor true, her assumption at his lack of knowledge made him cut her a hard look. "I've met another of your level," he stated in a tone that did not suggest a positive encounter. "Your court seems as willing to assist the Negaverse as it is to stab its agents in the back."

Or cause another agent to stab a fellow agent. Point being.

A magic that creates snow--was that it? There were too many variables left uncertain in that vague description to judge her threat level, though Seraphinite was acknowledging her lack of hostilities.

Stiffness, as well, if it could be called that.

"They are. Fragile, though. They won't last long if they're not put up on a shelf or hung up."

"I wouldn't know," Juliet smiled again, simple, precise, clean. "You are the first agent of the Negaverse I've seen, after all -- I can hardly cast judgement with this little of a pool to work from. But I prefer not to cast judgement at all." She moved, foot by foot through the snow and hands clasped behind her back, in almost a circle -- taking in the surroundings like they were new to her, their beauty unseen prior.

"There is nothing inherently wrong with fragility - they serve their purpose just fine, I would think..."

Seraphinite gave a brief, simple nod. "Fair enough." How she'd gone without encountering another agent prior to him, was a concept lost to Seraphinite, and quickly brought on the idea she'd not been a senshi for long or did not opt to power up very often. He had to resist snorting. Maybe the traitorous senshi traits were learned not inherent, though she could also simply be waiting for an opportunity, or not find value in a fight at this time.

He crossed his arms loosely as he watched her, jacket rustling as he gave a shrug. His own gaze flickered almost lazily around the area, lingering on the delicate crystals. "If the purpose is only for decoration, then fragility can raise its value to some, but for practicality or survival fragility has no place." He moved a boot and listened to the sound of glass shattering and crunching under the tiniest weight, grinding the fragments of the crystal into the snow. "Beauty and strength is preferable."

Daekie
Should we wrap this up for quick reqs~? Would love to have them meet again tho after this *u* Congrats on being the first senshi he doesn't have an issue with (yet) Juliet~!

"Practicality and survival," Juliet winced at the crunching noise, "are hardly all there is, I think...but I should really be going, actually." Her cheeks were pinking from the cold, a light layer of snow dusting her hair -- if she'd been outside long enough in her fuku to organize the snowflakes without any further layering, then she was definitely due to go inside and warm up. She curtsied to Seraphinite again. "I hope you have a nice day." Obedient, calm, sweet but with no legitimate personal touch to it -- just like almost everything else she'd said.

Post-curtsy, she moved off to the path and out of sight, likely heading towards a cafe where she could be warm again.

This had been a... surprisingly civil conversation. Seraphinite bowed again in response to her curtsy, offering an equally polite but no personal hint to it, "Have a good evening," in return.

Still he was a bit caught off guard by the exchange. No hostilities, no attack, no use of magic. It was an entirely different experience than really any other encounter he'd had with a senshi, outside of the one or two corrupts he'd encountered in Negaspace. It baffled him a bit, though as he began to make his own way out of the park, he kicked himself mentally. He'd done nothing to ask her about the court, though he relented that given her lack of experience with many others of the court, there was a chance she wouldn't have had much information to share. Assuming she would even be so inclined.

Shaking his head, he headed out, at least determined to finish his patrol before he headed home.

Daekie
I'll edit the title after this for reg + fin~ I GIVE HER LOTS OF POINTS FOR THIS. And will definitely poke you for more Rp 8D Or am open to vice versa!
