Ark-Verse Combat Rules & Guidelines

In the Ark-Verse Role Play, fights are determined AHEAD OF TIME. The victor is automatically the character, or team with the highest total level. Anytime someone is attacked the attacker must create a topic in this combat forum and list all members of their team (party/crew/allies). The enemy, if they wish to engage in the fight, will post the same for their side (or run away). You must include the total level of your side in your post. Your characters level is equal to the number of posts in this guild (The Note) divided by 100, and rounded down to nearest 100. Maxed out at 1,000 posts per RPC.

Example: If someone has 345 posts in the guild, their RPC's level is 3! If they have an ally with 213 posts (level 2), their combined level is 5. If the enemies cumulatively have only level 4. The team with a total level of 5 automatically wins the fight, BUT in this forum you are to discuss this fact. You can decide to barely be defeated by the lower level group (if you are nice and like interesting plots!). Let me summarize this:

- When you attack another individual or group (in Ark-Verse) you must create a topic in this forum stating the names of all your allies, and their individual levels, and the summation of all levels (limited to allies who are currently already in the topic). Also list to the best of your knowledge the enemy's team captain (and allies if known), and quote their username if possible to link them to the topic, or shoot them a PM.

[You do not fight in this forum, the fight takes place in Ark-Verse main forums]

- IF the enemies accept the fight, they will respond in this forum with a post that has the same information for their side. They will also be able to state if any information is incorrect, and correct it in their post.

- The team with the highest total level wins by default! Going into the role play, you must acknowledge this. If your side has been pre-ordained to lose, you must eventually lose the fight in the RP. Feel free to start fighting after the defending side has made their response/engagement post.

Additional Rules:

1.) Only allies within the same topic (at the time of the attack), may be called upon to join you in the fight. [If you had previously told someone to meet you at said location they will arrive after the fight takes place]

2.) Allies do not need to be determined ahead of time. If a fight takes place and there are several free radicals (people without allegiances). They may post in the combat topic and choose a side.

3.) Once the fight has been resolved, the losing party must vacate the premises (usually just a single topic). Sometimes there are multiple topics to represent a single town, or sub-region, in this case the losing person(s) may be forced to leave all related topics, or even the whole forum in some cases. If there is a disagreement, please message the captain. You only need to vacate the premises for as long as the winning side says you have to, which can be no longer than one week (168 hours).

- You actually only need to vacate the premises if the enemy combatants want you to. In the Combat Forum you can discuss whether or not the losing party must leave. Sometimes you have a fight, and make up at the end and all is jolly. In this case one does not need to vacate the topic(s).

4.) Your fights can be as long or as short as you like, but anytime after each player from each side has posted at least 3 times, the side that has been preordained to win, can declare "Victory in 3," which means the ordained losers each have a maximum of 3 more posts! The third post is the last post for each of your members, and should include an exit, death, etc. This is to prevent people from dragging fights on.

5.) Once a fight has been initiated, and the member(s) of one side do not post within 72 hours they forfeit the fight.

6.) You may take the losing side hostage/prisoner at the end of the fight for up to a max of 3 days (72 hours). After that they may escape. You may only take one prisoner for each member of your side (who was not defeated). The Prisoner may decide to stay longer if they wish.

7.)
When large fights break out people typically pair off fighting individually. The winning side is allowed to have certain members lose an individual fight, and still win the overall battle. Likewise, the losing side may have a few members win individual fights (only if individual on the per-ordained winning side decides to let them of course). Expect a moderator to interject, and force members of a winning side to lose on occasion. That said they still win the overall battle.

8.) Role Play Characters (RPC) can never be killed unless the person wants their character to be killed. On occasion a moderator might come out of nowhere and force one side to have at least one member die at the end of a fight (they might tell you exactly who should die, or decide randomly, or let your side choose among yourselves). IF this happens, your character is not dead forever. They can be revived through...Runic (magical) means. This isn't likely to happen except during epic battles, so don't worry. Though if you are constantly role playing badly (god-modding), we might make you die more often as a form of punishment.

9.) At any time, a moderator can interject and force members of a certain team to lose their individual fight. Only the captain (narxfang) can tell someone that they must die.

10.) If a moderator (i.e. crew member), is involved in a fight they have no authority. All appeals and decisions must be done through a different moderator. Only the Captain and Vice Captain are exempt from this rule (They may still bring in alternate authority if a dispute is made for the sake of fairness).

11.) Rules may be created at any time, if so, they will be added to this list and must be followed immediately. Rules may also switch numbers, or be revised. If a rule changes significantly, you will not be penalized for breaking it, but you will be required to follow it.

12.) If one has over 1,000 posts in the guild, and also has a second RPC in Ark-Verse, there RPCs are never allowed to team up, nor be involved in the same fight. They may be in the same faction, but never will they be allowed to fight alongside each other.

13 Any member with over 1,000 posts will have to include their current RPCs level in ALL posts (as part of their post format). This is to prevent confusing on their RPCs level.

14.) If all else is equal, whomever has more allies wins.

15.) The Ally Rule: If someone is level one they will always beat a level zero, but two level zeros can tie a level one. Likewise two level ones will tie a level two. In tie situations, total F&R will act as tie breaker.

Post Script:

-The reason we use this forum INSTEAD of PMs is in order for everyone to be able to see the decision (of who will win & any conditions) just so everyone knows the outcome. This prevents people from lying in PM (that they will lose the fight, even though they have a higher level) and causing trouble. Please do not create any non-combat related topic in this forum.

Alternative Combat: Dueling + Rules

Many of you enjoy the thrill of engaging in combat where you are unsure of the end result. In order to preserve this form of combat within the guild we will now have a "Duelist Combat System" in place. You are now allowed to challenge someone else to a duel. A duel is a combat session where you each get 10 posts (starting usually with the challenger unless agreed upon otherwise), and the victor is decided by public vote at the end of the fight. Here is the catch, we are only allowing this form of combat for 1x1 fights. If you are in an all out brawl between two factions you will have to follow the previous rules of traditional combat. There will be no splitting up into tiny duels and bypassing the original system because that would cause a mess with multiple voting topics, etc. In other words this dueling system works exactly like our coliseum tournament fights. I will specify a few rules for how this will take place.

Rules:

1.) Combatants are allowed to create a combat topic where they can choose to (a) Shorten how many posts are required (e.g. instead of 10 posts each maybe 5 or less), (b) change locations of the duel, (c) set a time limit for the duel, or lift all time limits, (d) ask mods for help with whatever they need. Rules can be changed (fairly) with mod approval.

2.) Duels may be refused unless otherwise stated. Duels initiated by a quest, may state something along the lines of, "Challenge someone else to a duel, they may not refuse," and have a few preset rules that apply.

3.) You are not allowed to enter a duel. It is strictly One vs One.

4.) Unless decided otherwise a duel is forfeited if the opponent does not post within 3 days time (72 hours).

5.) A public vote will be established after a duel has been concluded. The poll will be open for 3 days. Combatants and their allies are all allowed to cast a vote in the poll.

6.) Any rules that are not conflicting with normal combat, apply.
