"Uuuggghhhhhhhhhhhhh"
Adenah groaned dramatically, sliding further and further down into her chair until her back was nearly parallel with the seat itself. Her mother's mercenary group tried to hold back their snorts and laughter, especially since Dris'rynne was trying her best to ignore her daughter's antics.
But the little one was just sooooooo bored! Momma told her she would get to come to the inn with her and that usually meant a lot of snacks, but if she had known it was going to be all business she would have stayed home!
"This is so boooooring! I thought we were going to buy snacks, moon momma! Papa said that you would buy me snacks so why aren't we-"
When she started commenting on the amount of dirt under the table that's when Dris'rynne told her to go play. Finally; freedom! Adenah ran off before her mother could even finish speaking to her, and burst out the rear entrance onto the sands.

Ooooh! Everything here was so different from home! "Momma! I'mma go explore a bit, kay?" Kyril beamed at her mother before slipping away from their room and downstairs. Her momma shouldn't mind that much right? It was only naptime that she was leaving after all. And it was boring when her momma even fell asleep on the bed. How could she entertain her while snoozing?
And, who needed naps anyways? She was a big girl now of so many years after all!
Proudly, Kyril scooted down around until her hands found the door and then her feet found sand. "Hot." She protested before turning around and bumping into another youngling, "Oh." Blinking, Kyril stared at the other girl before grinning, "You're strange." She commented happily. The girl even had fire hair like Koril!

"Hey!" Adenah stumbled a bit, puffing up when she turned around to glare at whoever had bumped into her, fully expecting it to be an adult - and seeing another kid instead.
One who was calling her strange.
"You're one to talk." She pointed out boldly. "You're just as strange as I am; maybe more." It was obvious to tell what kind of hybrid the other girl was, which meant she could skip a lot of the guessing.
"And how come you run into me? Don't your eyes work?"

"I know!" Kyril beamed as if it were a compliment, "It's cool." She bounced on the balls of her feet, "Makes us special, right?" Forget those normal people! She enjoyed being the oddball in the crowd. Her mama always said to just embrace her uniqueness and she definitely made certain to do so!
"They do." Kyril pursed her lips in a pout, "But I was startled by the hot sands." Flushing lightly the child twisted her fingers in front of her, "I sorry." Her mama also always mentioned she should always be polite and quick to apologize rather than fighting in public, "So whatcha doin' here?"
She stuck out a hand as an after thought, "I mean I'm Kyril. Who're you?"

"I...guess?" Adenah quirked her brow as she watched the girl, subtly (not too subtly) looking around her to see if anyone else were watching. Had some bigger kids put her up to this to tease them both? Or was she just naturally....weird?
"Ain't ya ever walked on sand before?" Seemed kind of weird for her not to, given the area that they were in. Adenah just assumed that everyone had at some point in their life.
"My mama's talkin' work, so I came outside." She scrunched up her nose, as if the concept of 'work' as distasteful, even in word form. The little one moved a few steps away from the other girl and bend over to pick up a pretty stone jutting up from the sand. It would have hurt a lot to step on, but in her palm it looked like a crystal! "Hey kid, come're! Look at this!"

"I have..." Kyril glanced down sheepishly, "But I forgot that there's no water here with it." She was completely used to walking along damp sand as they lived by the great waters. There even if the sands startled your feet at least you could run to the waters and cool off. Out here though the sands burned hotter and were far drier. Kyril crinkled her nose at the thought. It was still taking her a while to adjust to this...strange place.
Blinking up at the idea of work, Kyril smiled. That was why her momma had stopped in also! Maybe they were working together then? But before she could bring up the thought Kyril found her gaze widening, "Ooooh." It was a pretty stone! "Anymore?" Her gaze was beaming as she glanced around in the sands, but it seemed there weren't. Pouting, she glanced back towards what the other girl had. "Lucky..."

Water? She must live near a watering hole. She'd seen a few in her life, but Adenah had never been allowed to stick her toes in them. Her momma said it was for people to drink from, not to play in. Apparently Kyril's momma didn't care as much as Dris'rynne about cleanliness!
"I don't know; maybe? You gotta look for them. I found this one, but I'm sure we could find more." She even got down onto her knees and pawed at the sand, pushing as much away in an attempt to find out. However, when her efforts yielded no results Adenah looked down at her stone, back to the girl, back to the stone, and finally just held it up, "Here, you keep it."
It was pretty and all, but she'd just lose it. Better to let someone have it that really wanted it.

"I'll look more then." Kyril followed the other girl's lead and began to shift even more sand through her fingers. At one point she found a pebble, but when she raised it from the sands the girl watched in disappointment as it stayed dull. Nothing special about that! Sighing, she placed the little pebble back down before glancing over towards the other girl.
Didn't seem like she had any luck either. Taking a deep breath to hold back the sadness of her loss, Kyril found herself surprised instead. "Me?" Blinking the small hybrid reached out a hand to slowly take the special stone, "Are you sure?" It was normally easy for her to take things from her brother or even parents, but this was a stranger. And receiving such a precious gift was definitely the last thing Kyril had expected!

"Well, yeah, seems like you want it more than me." Deni whipped her dirty little hands off on the pleats of her worn dress and stood up. She could always find another one; surely where there was one, there had to be more! And besides, Ani could help her look. This girl...didn't seem like she had much of anyone around to help her.
"You just gotta...hrmm...." How did the adults do it? "...you gotta...trade. Yeah, you gotta trade for it! Somethin' you find for somethin' I found. Sounds good, right?"

Kyril smiled sheepishly, "That obvious?" The little girl shook her head while clutching at the prize. Kori-ko never let her have any of his toys this easily. Why couldn't this girl be her sibling too? She seemed so nice!
"Trade?" Kyril tilted her head thoughtfully, "Is there anything you want?" She asked quietly, "I'll try to find it so I can trade you for the stone!" She was born to do things the correct way and if the adults did it then that was surely the best way to handle this!

Adenah paused for a moment before squinting and bringing her forefinger as close to her thumb as possible without touching. "Lil bit."
The little fireling cupped her hands behind her back, twining her fingers as she thought. Anything she wanted? Well, she wanted a lot! But she didn't know what this girl could give her that her momma couldn't.
"How about...a cape! Like the soldiers wear. Do you think you could find one of those?"

"A ca-cape?" Kyril repeated with wide eyes. How could she even get one of those? Well she didn't say it had to be from a soldier...Kyril pursed her lips thoughtfully.
"I think I know." She grinned, "So something that can be made into a cape!" She paused, however, and glanced around. "Though we'd have to find the material first..."

"A cape!" Adenah held her arms out wide, flourishing them as if she had a real cape attached to her back. "Haven't ya seen 'em? They're big and really pretty!" Nuri had one, and he was a big military guy! She wanted one just like it.
"Oh, oh, you do?" She grinned and ambled a little closer, bouncing up on the balls of her feet. "How 'bout....sheets! Or a curtain! From the inn! They've got lots of 'em. They'll never notice."

"Yep, yep!" Kyril's gaze sparkled with imagination. She had always heard about stories with the princes in capes and the knights and the kings and all the dashing people.
"Ooooh." Kyril wasn't certain about stealing, but at the same time if it was for a good cause...and they wouldn't notice. The little girl finally nodded, "Let's do it!"

Adenah nodded and moved towards the inn, sneaking up close to the door before holding up a finger for quiet. Then, she pushed it open slowly and snuck in, holding it open just long enough for Kyril to sneak in with it. "We gotta find good ones, but not so good that they'll miss'em."
With as many people as were around she had to wonder if there were any rooms left to take from, or if they were going to have to take from the main hall itself. That would be trickier.
