Mano was diving again, deep down into the waters of the ocean, with his trident in hand. He wanted to seek out a large fish today, something that was big enough that it could be made into not only some really good dried pieces good for travel rations but also a nice, big soup that he was planning on making. It wouldn't be just the giant fish in it either, it was going to be various other types of fish as well, something that he hoped Kyrian would really enjoy. He wanted to make something that would be like a 'taste of Matori' as it were, made up of all sorts of different things cooked up together and made delicious for the two of them. Coming to a halt he found himself hovering in the water, scanning from side to side, taking in the waters around him.
After a bit of scanning he found the one that he wanted, a good saw mahi mahi, one that he knew was both delicious and a large enough size that it would cover what he wanted it for. He started forward toward the good sized fish, drawing back his trident, and thrust it forward toward the colorful fish. He was able to spear the fish with the three prongs of his weapon, getting a good hold on it, and started to head toward the surface. He was dragging the fish along behind himself, eager to get it to the shore so that he could get it gutted as quickly as possible. The moment that he broke the surface, taking in a breath of air, he was suddenly being dragged back under again by his trident.
The moment that he was under the water again he looked down toward the fish, expecting to see it struggling, when he spotted what was going on. The snaptrotters... the damn whelps, they were back... he set to kicking his feet faster, trying to drag himself backwards toward where the shore was located while the the snaptrotter dragged him in the other way. It was a fairly equal battle given that it was a smaller sized snaptrotter but just when he thought he might be able to win out against the fight. A thought that vanished instantly when a second whelp showed up, grabbing hold of the fish as well. The two of them set to twisting, flailing, and tearing at the fish... and Mano watched in utter horror as his fish was torn in half and off of his trident. The two snaptrotters seemed to almost smirk up at him before they set to racing off with his catch.
Mano gave a string of curses in his head as he moved back to the surface once more to get another breath. Once there he found himself treading water, his fin ears twitching with annoyance. Well now... that hadn't gone well at all. The little thieves seemed to be back, meaning that fishing was going to be a bit of a pain again. No matter, he wasn't going to let them ruin his chance at making a delicious stew for Kyrian!

Mano headed toward the shore, grumbling as he went, finding himself empty handed at the moment. He'd thought that he had gotten his hands on a rather good fish only to have it stolen away from him by a pair of bratty little snaptrotters. How he wanted to give them both a little punt but given that they had fled with their stolen food he didn't even have the chance to do that much. Pulling himself out of the ocean he stood on the beach, starring out over the water, as he tried to decide what he wanted to do next. He supposed that he could always figure out a different source of food? Maybe he could raid a tide pool or he could fish from the shore where he would have more control? He would also be bale to keep his eyes open and make sure that the snaptrotters weren't able to steal his fish again.
"Little monsters... that fish was meant for my Honey." He grumbled, his fish ears giving a bit of a twitch as he walked along the beach, seeking a good place to fish from. A bit of searching allowed him to find a good place to stand, where he could see through the clear water to where the fish were swimming. He squatted down, his trident resting against his shoulder, as he took in the various fish in front of him. Alright, which of them did he want to aim for? There were a lot of them that looked good, a lot of them that he knew tasted good, but he knew that he couldn't take them all. Alright, then he would go for the biggest one among them if at all possible. If he did that then he would be able to fill a good portion of the order that the mahi mahi was supposed to fill in and of itself. Drawing back his weapon he prepared to thrust it forward toward the fish... when there was suddenly a wild splashing of water off to the side that scared off the fish.
Turning slowly he found himself watching as the two snaptrotters from earlier where splashing about, making a giant mess of the area, kicking up sand. He stood there for a long moment, his eyes going wide, before he gave a curse, "Oh... come on! You little monsters! Go and steal from someone else!" He called out before he started to charge forward into the water toward the pair.
The two snaptrotters turned around, starring at him with wide eyes, before the two of them hissed and scattered. One went for deeper water, the other toward the shore, and he was quick to chase after the latter. He was going to catch that one and give it a swift kick in the backside! A thought that had him chasing along after the shuffling creature, waving his trident at it as he went.
"You just wait until I catch up with you! I'm finished dealing with you little thieves!" He called after the creature, something that only made it flee that much quicker along the beach.

The chase with the snaptrotter continued for a time, with Mano trying his best to catch up with the creature. It was rather far ahead of him and had more legs then he did, meaning that he doubted that he was going to catch up. That didn't mean that he wasn't going to continue. The way that he saw it maybe if he continued to chase after the beast enough then maybe he would be able to get rid of them for good by scaring them enough? Would this chase be enough to have them give up on the free food that they had been stealing from him? That was what he hoped for at least.
After a while longer the snaptrotter finally made a ninety degree turn, racing toward the water, with Mano in hot pursuit. He followed until he was up to his waist in the water... and the shadow of the creature had vanished into the ocean. He starred after it, breathing hard, as he stood there. Lifting a hand he set to rub it against his temples before giving a little grumble. Here was to hoping the little monsters were gone for good this time... or at least long enough that he would be able to catch some fish at long last! He just wanted to catch fish for Kyrian and himself!
Giving a little sigh he turned around on his heel, heading out of the water once more. Alright, he would find himself a new spot, and he would try the whole fishing thing again. Here was to hoping it went right this time.
