Xochi couldn't recall a time she had ever taken a break from studying. A break? From what? Reading? Seemed silly, honestly. Everyone took a break, but she chocked it up to being lazy and not wanting to work hard.
But University wasn't like Academy and being a double botany and medicine major was starting to become a major, major pain in the neck.
The more popular coffee shop was not her style, but it was the closest (and cheapest) one. Finals, however, meant that nearly everyone was in there. The noise was kept to a dull rumble, punctuated with laughter and dashed with agonized groans.
"I'll take a mocha." The waitress nodded and Xochi paid. There was one one free table, and so the Demon took a seat. It was small, but there was enough room for someone else to sit.
