Liira was washing the dishes, staring out of their little Tale home's windows and watching Tyyn leave the house once more. She was so grown up now, and she could feel a little pinch in her gut every time she realized how soon it would be before Tyyn was wanting to leave the house for good.

She felt arms wrap around her from behind and she sighed in the familiar irritation that bubbled up in her voice. "You know it's too hot for that nonsense." She whined out to Tau.

Tau padded into the room and could see his wife Liira standing at the window watching Tyyn leave.

It was the look on her face that he saw so often now, he couldn't resist but to come up behind her and wrap his arms around her in a strong embrace. And he couldn't help but laugh when Liira got into her usual fussy tones. "And you know I don't care, right?" He murmured back into her ear. He liked stifling his little iceling. She was so tiny and so... hot. All the time. Like a furnace. You would think that all Zenans produced this much heat, Tau had to wonder how they survived anywhere else at all.

Liira immediately put the dish she was washing back on top of the counter and twisted until she was facing Tau. She pushed him back roughly and furrowed her brows. "It's. Too. Hot." She complained. She saw the look on his face and her frown softened into her typical pursed lips of irritation she got when she knew she couldn't seriously be mad at Tau.

"And tell me again why we can't move to Zena? I'm just going to be too happy when I get to drag you up to the mountains for our trip soon." She smirked, knowing all too well that Tau wouldn't be the least bit pleased with it. "You know, we can always settle for a middle ground and move to Sauti." She teased, knowing full well that neither of them would be happy with that decision.

Tau grinned as Liira pushed him back, but quickly began to grumble and groan when she mentioned moving... again.

"I'm telling you, it won't work. My mother and brother are here, they need us. Tyyn is here. And... it's coldddddd. I don't want to be cold." He frowned and pouted to his wife. He was practically just a big baby. "Why should anyone have to put on that much clothes every. day." He whined.

He plopped himself down onto the couch that was in the family room open to the kitchen and waited for Liira to come join him.

Liira watched with a grin while her husband whined and groaned his way through the argument they had had many times before. He was such a wimp, he couldn't stand any temperature below Tale's stifling hot. "Oh I know. But still. I put up with this for you. You could at least do the same for me."

She took her seat next to Tau and leaned back, lifting her feet up and tucking them under her. She was already down to the bare minimums of clothing and she was still sweaty. All the time. It was ridiculous. "And your mother and brother don't need us anymore. Your brother is a grown man now, and he can help take care of your mother. You should know this." She scolded Tau. He shouldn't need to be told that his brother was already in his 20's himself.

Tau hung his head as his wife chastised him. He knew she was right. His brother was plenty old enough, and probably overdue for moving out already as it was. At this point he was just coddling him. "Yeah, ok. Fine." He dropped the subject. Friendly teasing was starting to turn too serious for him.

He turned and twisted where he was sitting in his seat and started to pinch Liira playfully. "I saw how you were looking at Tyyn dearest." He said with a smirk. He only ever called Liira pet names like that when he wanted to get on her nerves.

Liira could feel the pinching and prodding and she wormed where she was before slapping his hands away. "And how is that, darling?" She spat out the last word with venom. He knew she hated being played with like that, and even worse, she didn't really know what she was thinking when she looked at Tyyn like that.

Tau bellowed out a laugh, it was exactly where he wanted to push his wife to, that tender point of irritation where he didn't quite know if his next words would land him on the couch, but he had to hope for the best. What was life without a little danger, right? He thought to himself with a laugh.

"It looks to me like... well, like you are feeling the pressing depression of having an empty nest." He wiggled his eyebrows. Liira and Tau both could see that Tyyn was getting older, and really, she would be wanting to leave the house soon as well. For the added effect Tau put a hand right on Liira's belly.

She felt the hand on her stomach and she cringed. Tau was hitting a little too close to home, but she wasn't the type of person to have put words to the feeling.

"You know - I love Tyyn - but she was an accident. I don't plan on having any more accidents in the future." She hesitated. "But Tyyn is getting older. And with everyone in the house more independent... well, what are we doing?" She asked her husband.

They were just settling into a routine, and as much as Tyyn stressed Liira out when she was an infant, she missed the feeling of her belly growing, the lack of sleep from getting up in the middle of the night over five times a night.

Tau listened to Liira's words, and he put his hand on her belly with meaning now. "You know... I get what you're saying... but it doesn't have to be an accident this time. We're older, we know better. And... what are we doing?" He echoed Liira's question.

They had been almost forced to be together, not because of some outside force, but Tau's feelings of responsibility. And with time, well, he loved Liira. He knew he had felt it much much sooner than she had. She had just... well tolerated him in the beginning. It made him laugh now, but he knew that they had grown to love each other. "We're a proper family now, right? And families grow. They want to grow."

Liira nodded her head at her husband's words. It was true, they hadn't liked each other at first. Well... alright to be honest, Liira hadn't liked Tau. Tau was trying to get her approval like his life depended on it and she had turned her nose up at him every time.

But when she accidentally had made them a family, well, she guessed she grew into that. "Families grow..." She echoed Tau's words now.

"This family maybe should grow." He answered the unspoken question between them.

They had withstood the test of time and of the fates. They raised a child together, nothing exploded, nobody died. And they were still together by choice now.

Liira put a hand to Tau's hand, still resting on her stomach. "This family should grow." She affirmed. "Not an accident, this is something we decide." She continued.

She would never have guessed that they would have stayed together after all this time, but after the years, she didn't really want to think of her life without Tau. He was the father to her children, and well, the louder, more immature other half to her bitter heart.

"I would like our family to grow."

He leaned in closer to his wife, pulling her to rest in his arms. "We should work on it sooner than later, yes?" He whispered the words in her ear, hoping that his breath on her neck would lead to the starting of their family that very hour. Making the baby was always more fun than the nine months after anyways.

Liira let Tau pull her in closer and she leaned her head back into his body. He whispered the words into her ear and she sighed. They could start trying, they could expand on their family, add another little one running around the house and the village. She hoped to the gods that it would be better behaved that Tyyn was once she learned to walk.

"Maybe it can even happen before we take out trip east." She whispered back into his ear with a smirk on her face. If she could just remind him again that they were going to Zena, baby or no baby, it would be an accomplishment for her. "My parents would be pleased." She laughed lightly.
