there's already one in japan and there is one announced for june this year i think

There are 4 naruto games in progress... The dates I can't remember exactly, but 3 for the psp, one for the ds.

i didn't even know naruto was being released for PS2. someone told me it was only for XBOX. o_O;

There are currently 4 GC Naruto Fighters out in Japan (I've played 3 and 4 courtesy of our little game club at college ^^), as well as at least 2 for the PS2. There's a little Naruto RPG for the GBA also.
As for American releases, there is one for the GC just recently released as well as one for the GBA. Another GC Naruto is slated for October 06 release.
Other games:
There's one out for the PSP, only in Japan as yet. There was also one released for the PSone and the Wonderswan. . .also Japan of course.
. . . Jeebus.
Okay, there's at least 5 for the GBA, 2 for the DS, 3 for PS2, 4 for GC. . .
It's really quite simple to find out, just hit up IGN.com and search for Naruto. From what I can see there's nothing for Xbox and this doesn't surprise me.

Yea I just bought the one that just came out on GC a few weeks ago, and I love it to death!! The only bad thing is the short length of story mode and the lack of ALOT of characters, but I'm willing to wait for the other games! 3nodding

All the rookie ninja from Konoha (Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Ino, Shikamaru, Chouji, Neiji, Hinata, Lee, Kiba, Shino, TenTen), the Sand nin (Temari, Gaara, Kankuro), the Sannin (Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Tsunade), Iruka, Kakashi, Gai, Kabuto, Sakon/Ukon, Tayuya, Jiranbou, Kisame, Mizuki, Zabuza, Haku, Hokage, Kimimaro, and my favorite Itachi. ^^ Oh yeah, and Curse Seal level 2 Sasuke, Kyuubi Naruto and unleashed Hinata.
. . .I might be forgetting someone.
I don't know what the story mode is like but it's a fighting game so I'm not expecting much.
