It had been a little difficult to find her in the crowd but at last, Amonee Brycer had found his target: a relaxed tealblood waiting in the mass of people at the festival. He'd heard a lot about her from the other two trolls that he was close with, Xavier in particular, and had sent her a letter to meet him this year at the Harvest Moon Festival to meet face to face and make mooncakes together.
"Hello, you must be Eilidh! I'm Amonee." The jadeblood waved at the girl as he approached, incredibly excited and energetic. "I hope you weren't waiting long, I lost track of time on my way here. Really really sorry!" Amonee pulled Eilidh into a friendly hug without thinking that she might not want one from someone she'd just met. He was an overly social person without much thought to personal space.
"Have you ever made mooncakes before? I heard you're a great baker~"

Eilidh had been waiting for a little bit for Amonee to show but she wasn't overly worried. She had met a troll named Caiden while she waited so it wasn't like she wasn't entertained. The tealblood looked to Amonee shyly as he approached her, shocked when the other hugged her. Her cheek flushed teal as she nibbled at her bottom lip. "Y-Yeah, Hi... N-nice to meet you... Amonee." She greeted. "I've seen...y-you before but its nice to actually meet you." She said, relaxing a little. "M-mooncake?... Y-yeah... I-I make them sometimes..." Eilidh replied, smiling softly. "I... wouldn't say I'm great... b-but I do adore baking...a-and cooking." She explained. So this was Xavier's jadeblood friend? He seemed really nice like Xavier had told her... She was now glad she had decided to reply to Amonee's letter. "I-I hear you make stuff... Like Xavvy's belt clasp."

Oh goodness, wasn't she just the cutest troll! Amonee watched Eilidh stutter shyly before a small smile spread across her face and he could've just died. Xavier was somewhat similar in this quiet happiness and he could easily see how the two would get along comfortably and easily. So that was why the other jadeblood talked about her so much!
"The belt clasp was a hard project but definitely rewarding. He looks good in pink, don't you think?" Amonee laughed, looking incredibly pleased with how the belt had turned out. After the beautiful choker that the others had made for him, he felt excited to make trinkets to give back in return.
"Well, Nucleo says that your baking is wonderful. So I'm sure you're greater than you think, Eilidh." He glanced at her with a smile before looking to the table of ingredients for moon cake making.
"Umm... how do we start, you think?"Hobo Pixi will add coding later, too lazy now

Eilidh blushed, "n-nucleo said that, really?" She said, sounding a bit hopeful. She took a little breath, "and y-yeah... Xavier looks good in anything." She agreed, smiling to amonee. "M-maybe... the mixing the dry ingredients first.. then slowly add the wet." She advised, moving to the table beside her newest friend. Yamashii now? I'm always too lazy haha

"He did! And Nucleo doesn't praise people unless he means it. Oh, not that he's a grump!" Amonee chattered on, comfortably filling any quiet lulls in conversation. Eilidh moved to the table and he joined her, letting her take the lead. They had a basic recipe but he lacked a basic understanding of baking beyond the microwave.
"It says one cup. But I never know how big of a cup to use!" It was clear he thought it meant like a cup to drink out of! "Do you think this one would work?" Amonee held up a mug.

Eilidh bit her lip with a smile, "o-oh... no.. t-that's not how that works." She told amonee, grabbing a measuring cup. "T-this is a cup." She explained, smiling to the other. She wasn't sure if the other really thought a mug was a measurement for a cup or if he was more or less testing her. Happily, Eilidh helped amonee mix his batter. "There, perfect t-texture... n-now all you have to do I-is dump it into a pan and bake it." She directed, smiling. Yamashii now? I'm always too lazy haha

Her smile was small and soft like a candle's glow that lit up the room with a cozy light. The jadeblood couldn't help but beam back at her.
"I see! I always wondered why Nucleo kept those around." Baking was a lot more fun when you had someone experienced and kind helping you fix the mistakes. Eilidh was both stern in correcting him and gentle in instructing him which was honestly good for Amonee as he puzzled through the recipe and the baking instruments. Rarely did he meet anyone willing to tell him he was wrong at something which only resulted in him repeating mistakes later. It was kind of nice to have some more direct trolls around.
"You're so good at this, you should help Nucleo out at his shop!" The ditzy greenblood gushed, not really sure if she had an interest in that or not. "I work there occasionally and it'd be a lot of fun if you were there too! We could make latte art together. Wouldn't that be cool?" Amonee never seemed to stop chattering for long but he did watch her carefully, pausing whenever he thought she might interject.

Eilidh was focused, wanting to make Amonee and her own mooncake come out perfect! She looked to the other, "Yeah, it'd be hard to get the same baking or cooking results each time if you were using all sorts of different measurements." She explained, nodding with a smile. "Papa Bear is..." She quickly looked over her shoulders to confirm her lusus was in fact not there. "..He is a really really bad cook. I had to learn so I could survive... especially since he eats honey more than anything else..." She giggled a bit, looking back to the batter. "our batter looks really good." She enthused silently. Scrapping the edges of the bowl to ensure the batter was mixed all the way, Eilidh gave a quick glance at Amonee. "I... had actually planned to ask Nucleo to work at his café when I see him later." Her eyes brightened as he told her that he worked there as well. "Really? Maybe I can teach you to cook!" She exclaimed, which for her is about the volume as a normal troll speaking. "I-I'm... not good at making drinks." She admitted, nibbling her lip again. Yamashii I didnt reuse this quote thing at all @@

She looked so focused on what she was doing and it was interesting to watch her process. Amonee was not great at staying on task himself so he valued that in others. The mention of her lusus got his attention as he noticed, well, hers was nowhere to be seen! Maybe next time he'd get to meet them!
"Oh, he'll say yes for sure. Nucleo always needs help, even with all those clones!" The jadeblood laughed, thinking about the midnight rushes that sprang up at the café. It was almost always bustling, when it was open. These days, the greenblood was more withdrawn and the Nightly Grind opened its doors less frequently but hopefully that would change.
"Well since you're teaching me how to bake, I'll help you with the drinks. How's that?" Amonee gave her a smile and a wink. Eilidh clearly worked hard at what she did and would probably pick up how to use the coffee machines quickly. The painter himself preferred to mess around with the decorations by adding chocolate syrups and foam to make pictures which sometimes slowed down production. Having a faster more competent clerk behind the counter would help the business a lot!Hobo Pixi If it works, it works! ; )

Eilidh smiled to amonee, "yeah... nucleo works really hard." She agreed, tilting her head. "W-wait... nucleo has... clones?" She asked, unsure what he meant by that. "L-like... a twin?" She asked curiously. She then sighed, wondering if she should talk about her powers... before remembering papa bears reasoning to keep it secret. "I...I didn't know." She said finally, moving to put the batter into a pan then into the oven. "Amonee, thank you again for asking to meet up... I.. can see why Xavier and nucleo like you so much." She smiled, wiping some flour from amonees cheek. "I'm excited to learn from you and teach you."

"Yes, he can make copies of himself! It's really something incredible to see. Such a useful power, really." Amonee laughed, clearly very impressed with Nucleo's abilities. It seemed to him like you'd be able to do just about anything if you could make multiple versions of yourself to help you. Eilidh seemed confused and uncertain about it though so he tried to reassure her.
"I mean, it's good but... you don't have to have powers to be just as capable- oh!" She wiped at some stuff on his face and he flushed, not having realized what a mess he had been making. "It's almost as bad as paint, isn't it?" The jadeblood looked down at the white flour smeared into his dress with a sheepish smile. He felt bad that they were getting ingredients everywhere but her calm manner and sweet words were enough to distract him from dwelling on it.
"I like you too, Eilidh. I think this is the start of a marvelous friendship!" His pump biscuit was practically beating out of his chest with excitement. Amonee loved to make friends, especially friends with someone that his best friends liked a lot. She was certainly living up to the things he had heard about her!
"Let's come up with something special to surprise the others with to sell in the shop. Pleaseeee, wouldn't it be so much fun? Like a fancy coffeecake! Or a pudding!"

"Oh... I didn't know." Eilidh explained, "I've never met another powered troll before." She mused out loud, smiling to amonee. "Baking was meant to be messy." She giggled, patting the flour off her own dress. "The cakes should be about done." She mentioned, nodding to amonee. "Hmm... okay. We can figure something out." She accepted, smiling brightly. "Maybe a special doughnut or something?" She mused ideas with the other troll.

"Another...? Who else have you met?" He questioned curiously as she dusted herself clean. Somehow, she looked completely natural covered in a coat of flour and sugar. Perhaps it was similar to how Caiden wasn't quite right without a smear of paint somewhere on his body. The cakes were done and he helped clear a spot to put them to cool.
"My favorite flavor is maple! What's yours? We should mix them together for the doughnut!" Doughnuts and coffee, of course! It sounded delicious, why hadn't Nucleo sold them already? Amonee plucked his sketchbook from his bag to write these ideas into. They didn't have many diverse ingredients to experiment with, just what was at the mooncakes stand. To make this bestseller, they'd have to hit the store and reconnect to try again! So that meant, proper planning beforehand.
"If we plan it all out, I could get the stuff from town and bring it back to Xavi's place. We could make it there tomorrow, what do you think?" His eyes sparkled brightly. How he hoped she'd say yes- he was having a great time learning more about Xavier's mystery girl!

Eilidh bit her lip as she realized what she had said. "O-oh... i... " she looked around, leaning in to amonee. "I.... am.. a powered troll.." she whispered quietly to him. Once she pulled away, she looked to the other with a seriousness to her tone, "please don't tell anyone." She asked, looking to her mooncake. Smiling softly, the tealblood shook her head. "I can't tomorrow... I'm going to confess my feelings to... someone tomorrow but.. the next day is fine." She told him, "I think.. we have a really good idea.." she agreed, smiling brightly. "Honey is my favorite flavor of course!" She exclaimed, covering her mouth shyly as she realized she was loud.
