Priorities always were important, as were routines. Even with a small creature wrapped up in his cloak, Nuri still made it a point to lead Naraka into the pen in their back yard where his familiars often rested after a long day. Normally, those he trained harder were stored in the pens at the palace, so here were his casual loungers who had a nice 'break' from their jobs.

Naraka fed and stored, Nuri shifted his arms and the whining creature before turning back to the house.

Asuri loved animals, but not quite the bolder types. Aeuri was a bit more gentle hearted, and probably wouldn't take to the warbeasts. That left Orin.

He'd have to find something else for his other two children, but first he needed to find the most overwhelming of the triplets, Orin.

Orin lounged out around their home in the quiet. Everyone was off doing their own things, running their errands, whatever. Orin had made sure he could do nothing allllll day.

It was one of the only days where him and his siblings didn't have classes to attend, training to be had, and the inevitable lectures from his parents because... well they were convinced that he was just up to no good all the time. It wasn't his fault he was often at the wrong place at the wrong time. He lifted his feet up off of the floor and kicked back on the couch in their family room. The light drifted in through the window's curtains and threw a shadow over his face. really it was perfect napping weather.

He closed his eyes and waited to drift off, before being interrupted by the sound of footsteps drawing closer.

As they walked inside, Nuri rocked the janarim pup a bit, listening for any noise in the house. It seemed calm, which meant Orin might not actually be around. Shrugging at the thought, he walked through each room on the first floor, before finally walking up to where one of his twin sons settled. It was easy to see, with the casual pose and hair and lack of greeting, that it was Orin.

"Orin..." Nuri greeted, before the Janarim began to scream and cry again. Letting out a grunt, Nuri turned to where the rug sat, before getting to his knees and unravling the squirming pup.

The footsteps drew closer and closer before finally stopping just a few feet from Orin's current resting place. He raised an eyebrow and opened his eyes at the sound of his father's voice... and some sort of squealing.

He swung his feet back off of the couch and leaned over, staring at the little pup on the floor with keen interest on his face. It was tiny, with a deep red coat and golden yellow markings. Its eyes were too small to tell whether they were actually a color or just black, but it was whining on the floor not really sure what to make of its current situation.

"Hey Pops... How's it going?" He called to his dad, still watching the little janarim on the floor.

Nuri paused just a moment, taking in the creature, before turning to his son. Well, at least he had his attention. Orin seemed interested enough to move out of his lounging spot to look at the creature, and didn't really freak out or back off. Maybe, if he was lucky, this would all be an easy transition.

"I was on assignment today and had to take care of a few squabbling janarim. Unfortunately, this one's mother didn't make it in time..."

The creature continued to whine and squirm, and Nuri took another moment.

"So...got any idea on why it wont stop crying?"

Orin looked at his father with a dumb look on his face. Why it wouldn't stop crying... his father was the one who was a beast tamer, what would Orin know about why a squalling janarim pup wasn't quieting down?

He shrugged his shoulders and got off of the couch and onto the ground, his bare feet crossed under him. "What would I know about crying janarim?" he said with a laugh. "I mean... it's probably just hungry, right? Isn't that why everything cries? Food, sleep, or ... number two?" He held up two fingers as if emphasizing his point.

He had to assume that a baby animal went by the same rules as a baby earthling. What other reasons were there to cry besides just missing its mother? Orin extended a hand towards the little thing's head and waited to see if there would be a reaction.

Nuri was patient as his son question him back, keeping his face smooth and relaxed and just blinking back at Orin. He wasn't going to make this easy, of course, but he did smile slightly as his son continued to think out loud. At least Orin was interested, and making an effort. Maybe this would work after all.

"I do remember you crying after a 'number one' as well." He responded with a candid grin, before nodding and continuing the discussion, "Yes, it probably does need some food...I found this little thing with his mother, but I doubt she had the time to feed him with the male invading her den..."

Orin flinched at his dad's mentioning of him crying. C'mon he was like... a baby. He hadn't cried at something like that since he was old enough to know better, which he might add was sooner than his siblings. He crossed his arms over his chest and pouted briefly before scrunching his face into an over exaggerated pucker. "Yeah well, not my fault, ok."

His dad mentioned the janarim being underfed and his heart went out to the guy. He didn't know what it was like to go hungry and he didn't want to. "Well do we have food for it? He looks pretty small, you're gonna tell me he needs a bottle, aren't you?" He answered his question before he even paused to close his mouth. There's no way something so small wouldn't need to be hand fed.
