As the weather got colder and the holidays came ever closer, black Friday was a week away, Seung had started to think and to wonder about Caedus. It had been a very long time since he'd seen the alien and he wondered how he was doing, how did he tolerate the cold and was he eating enough? With everything that had been going on in his life, up till now, he hadn't really thought about it. The alien had entered his mind for short periods of time here and there but hadn't stuck around in his mind long enough for him to do anything.
When he'd thought of the other this time however it had stuck and lingered for days. When he'd gotten paid Seung had decided to do a bit of shopping, blankets, pillows, some books, and a few other things including a really good tent. The items were good quality but he'd gone for items on sale and done whatever he could to lessen the cost for himself, it wasn't that he was being cheap but rather efficient with his money. He'd had to ask his cousin to come with him, telling her that he would explain things to her later in private, since she could use his fathers car.
He still wasn't talking to his parents so was using his fathers car through his cousin so his parents didn't have a clue. He had recently, without telling Terry, gotten his license - he had passed the test. In the interest of his cousin getting more time behind the wheel though he was letting her drive, as she had a permit and would be going for her license soon.
After the shopping had been done, ending in a big grocery shopping trip, he'd been dropped back at Terry's where he'd told Eunkyung he'd need her again later tonight if she could help him again.
The following few hours had been spent cooking, lots of cooking, he hadn't explained to anyone what he was doing aside from saying he was doing some cooking for a friend. He figured it wasn't a lie, not really anyway...he was just stretching the truth - a lot.
He knew Terry was studying for finals, as final exams were coming up quickly, so didn't mention the trip to the other as he knew Terry would jump to join him and put aside his studying in order to do so. Not wanting to interrupt the other, and what he deemed important, Seung had kept silent on what he was doing and when Eunkyung had arrived he'd welcomed her help in getting the foods into the car. he'd filled several tupperware and he was smuggling out chop sticks, fork, spoon, and knife as well. He had cups and a tea pot as well, both things he had purchased for this trip when he'd been at the grocery store.
As it was getting darker out, and Eunkyung had only a permit, he'd taken over driving all the way out to the edge of the woods where the alien had last been staying. Here was where he unpacked the car and told his sister that he'd get back on his own and yes he was sure he would be fine. He would talk to her later, there was a late night restaurant in the city and he'd call her later and meet her there - his treat. They would eat and then go for a walk and talk. He knew the promise of a good, hot, meal and a walk would win her over so wasn't surprised by the bright smile or her bobbing assent to his idea. Once she was gone he turned back to everything he had to carry...it was a lot...a few trips worth...but it wasn't anything he was against doing. Powering up he started in with the food first, so Caedus could eat first while he brought the other things.
Making his way toward the clearing he called out to him, to alert him and let him know it was someone safe coming. "Caedus. It is Venice...knight of Ganymede...I have food for you - hot meal." All home made. He'd brought many different dishes, not sure what the other would like most. "Brought other things too...need to bring them here for you." He added, thinking about the camping stuff and the rest of the food waiting for him to move here...he might have gone a bit overboard with the cooking...just a bit.

Caedus had managed through one winter, but he certainly wasn't looking forward to another. Watching a single cycle of a year on Earth had been enchanting, but his time had been spent in hiding. Constantly moving, struggling for food. Caedus was a proud man, and did not like to rely on charity, but he had not found a way to survive self-sufficiently. He had taken to traveling in many places, though he never seemed to stray far from the clearing he'd first found himself. It was a stroke of luck, then, that Venice would be in the same area. Caedus had just settled down on the ground; though the Earth was cooling, the rock he pressed his back against was still warm from the setting sun. He paused, considering if he should get up or call. The thought of food was enough to get him to move; he had been eating very little this past month. With a little groan he pushed himself up. He creaked now, as much as ever. While his old cloak was gone, he was draped in a new one--a gift, from many month ago. The seasons had worn it, but he seemed to be taking care of it. As much as he could manage, at least. "I am here," he replied, trying to stand tall. "Good evening." He blinked when he saw the first load the Knight was carrying. "Are you preparing for a feast?"

"No, is all for you. Do not know how much you eat - what is normal." He said honestly, dark eyes looking over the other. he took note of the new cloak and smiled, that was good. Maybe he could make him one as well? He already had a lot of things he was working on, things for his wonder, but it wouldn't be that bad really.
"Sit, eat. Have other things for you...for winter - is getting cold." He said nodding his head as he finished speaking. "Will go get the other things while you eat." He said as he motioned for the other to have some of the food. "Things from my home, don't know if you will like it all...so many choices." He had made soups, rice, vegetables, noodle dishes. Some had meat and some dishes had none while a few had fish instead of pork or beef. He had tried to give a lot of options to the other.
That said he hurried off quickly, wanting to get the blankets and pillows, the tent also. He had his hands full with the items and more still he would need to get, another two trips at least but that was fine. When he arrived this time it was with a tent, he'd need to put it together, two large blankets and a pillow. He had more pillows and blankets, plus books. "Winter is cold here...found out last year. Don't want to get sick." If he could...he wasn't from here after all.

"I eat a lot," Caedus warned hesitantly. He couldn't help but be curious when the male mentioned 'other things', but he was satisfied with the food. Caedus could not differentiate between one type of food and another; either he liked it or he didn't like it, and right now he would eat just about anything anyway, so it didn't matter. By the time Venice came back, Caedus had already managed to eat through three containers. He seemed surprised by the sheer amount of things Venice had brought and blinked. "It is cold, but I survived. This is a lot. Is it easy for you to carry?" he asked, adding a second later, "I need to move frequently. I have not yet found a place suitable to hide me. I do not wish for the Negaverse to find me. Or...even some Senshi. Knights. I fear I have made enemies of some of them."

"That's good to know. Means though easy to lose weight for you - being here as is." Being in hiding and who knows who brought him food, and how much. If he ate a lot, and was in decent shape, that he assumed he burned through what he ate quickly and losing weight was an easy thing for him to do - not good in these circumstances. Maybe he could talk to others, a few who knew of the other, and they could get food together for him in order to keep him well fed? Spread the cost and the amount of cooking which was needed...it would be a good idea and helpful really.
"Yes, but cold is still cold...and being warm is better." he said smiling as he set things down. He might as well set up the tent for now, so he went about doing just that. "It is and isn't, some is hard not due to weight but size and shape." he commented with a smile at the other as he worked.
"Maybe if there are caves...temperature is less up and down and less elements to worry about." He didn't know the area well, much worse than the other did surely. But if there was a cave around it would be a good choice. "I am sure you have in our group....not all get along among knights and senshi. Many different opinions and do not work together well. Even with common enemy and common mission, when you helped us get to Negaverse...division even then. It does not work and will hurt us." He said shaking his head sadly. If they could work together better it would benefit them all, right? Surely it would.
The tent wasn't the easiest thing to get together but he did manage it after some time working on it and he turned to smile. "You speak English well enough...do you read it well?" He asked, hoping the other did. He had gotten him a selection of books, some history and books to learn from while others were stories and other such things to entertain himself with.

Caedus watched, brows knit, but ate some more while Venice spoke. "I have stayed in a few caves," he confessed. "But I move so often, I do not like to be easily found. There are only so many that I have found in the area." He finished two more containers of food, stacking them carefully next to him. "I speak English well enough. I was rusty, but conversations this past year have brought me a bit more clarity. I can read it well enough. My eyes hurt after a while, and I do have some difficulty, but I think that comes with age. Or living in darkness for so long. Your letters are so tiny, and so many look similar. But I am also out of practice. I have a book, given to me by someone a while ago. I have read it many times. Why do you ask?"

"Can move everything I set up into a cave...stay there at night to keep warm - too cold. Will get colder soon, snow." He had been here last winter and the snow had been deep at times, nothing he wasn't used to though. He didn't know how used to it the other was, or how much it affected him when compared to a human though. He did worry, he couldn't help it, as he looked the other over. At least he kept safe - that was good. He didn't have any reason to not trust the robed figure and didn't wish to see him hurt, he hoped the other would find a way home eventually...that his home was still alive and well - he deserved it.
"They say not enough sun, during some stages early on, can make sight bad - is why mine are bad...too much time indoors." He'd heard the stereotype, the first time he'd worn his glasses in class, and while he'd shrugged it off he had looked into a bit. Smart and wearing glasses was some sort of stereotype - oh well. The glasses were true, at least for him, and from what he'd found out it was common among Asians and likely due to the time spent indoors rather than outdoors - due to school hours.
"Brought you books, was making sure you could enjoy them. Some history and learning...some stories - made up. Fantasy, romance, many things...didn't know what you would be liking...and different types are good." The variety would be good, otherwise he might get bored, reading about similar things was nothing anyone wanted to do. "English...am still working on myself. Am better than I was, still more to learn. No first or second language. First language would be hard for many here." Holding up his hand then he smiled. "be back, want to get rest of things for you."
Turning he hurried himself back to where he'd left the remaining items. When he did return it was...with a lot of books that were in a large container to keep them safe. "Tried to think some useful for you...so understanding some things. But some for entertainment. Can't have all learning." Some were considered classics while others were more modern, in terms of the stories he'd picked. He'd gone with a good mix over all while trying to not show a bias in anything either, which wasn't all that hard really.
With the tent set up, and the rest of the blankets and pillows with the books, he set about filling the tent up with the blankets and pillows so the other would be warm and could sleep peacefully tonight - or so he hoped.
"Others have come and kept you company - but must miss home yes?" He asked after some moments. "Will people you knew still be alive? People here - not such long life...well...long for us but maybe not for your people?" He was curious and hoping he wasn't over stepping bounds, he genuinely did want to know and was curious. It was another culture...another race altogether and it was fascinating - just the idea. As he finished filling the test he placed the top back on the container which held the books, since it was now empty of the blankets and pillows he'd also been keeping in there for easy transport. Moving to join the other he sat himself on the ground slowly.

Caedus continued to snack lightly as he listened; he had already made a dent in the food he had been brought but seemed no closer to filling up. He was quiet for a while, eyeing the amount of things he had been brought and trying to figure out a plan. He couldn't stay in the same area for long, so taking most of this with him wasn't going to be an option. He'd have to hide it nearby and make trips to and from it, at least until he found a better place to set up 'camp'. He was worried that any semi-permanent residence in this area would give him away to anyone who might wish to do him harm, and he had stayed alive for so long already--he didn't have the option of not being cautious now. He was thinking about home even before he was asked about it. Nodding, Caedus found himself looking up to the stars again. "I miss home," he mused. "My people are long lived. I know that they are all right. They will be there when I return." He sounded determined, as if will power alone would guarantee that he would make it back--and that they would be there when he returned. "Earth lives are so fleeting. Ours are not. Perhaps we are fortunate in that way. But you are fortunate to live on Earth, at least. It is beautiful here. Each night is new and wonderful. That is not always the case at my home. Most nights are the same, and our world is unchanging. We are unchanging."

Listening to the other he paused, sat himself down, and watched the other eat and listened to him talk. To live long, at least here on Earth, would be a curse and a blessing in his opinion. To watch the world around you, the things which were safe and familiar, change would be sad...devastating for some. But also it would be amazing to see what could change and would - to see new technologies and the way people stepped forward and came together...if they ever did. But to live on a whole planet that was long lived, according to the other, didn't it give way to population problems? He was from a country facing some population issues, though they were the opposite of too many people. His countries population was facing too many old people and not enough babies being born, not enough people to support the old...and the problems which came with it.
"Aren't there...too many people there? And why no change at night? Weather - you have? Or always the same?" He questioned, wanting to learn more. The other could give an insight into another place, somewhere far away, it felt like he imagined touching a dream would be or having a dream be real or a fairy tale.
"Anyway to help you go home? You miss it there...here is not safe for you. Maybe back home would be, away from the darkness here." Would the darkness seek him out though? Why had his planet not been touched by it as so many others seemed to have been.
"Will help you, if I can. I know about being in a foreign place and missing a home. Getting used to it here but still not home - at least home is still the same planet." But he figured he could relate at least a little bit. At least here the people were all the same, even if they looked a bit different. They were the same race. Beliefs, culture, language...all so very different.
"I can bring you, if you want, to my wonder...isn't your home but is space..." He offered after some moments of thought and hesitation. It was the best he could do, on his own, to at least bring the other somewhere off this planet even for a day. He could get in to space for a brief time if he wished. He didn't think to offer his wonder as a home, it wouldn't suffice and he couldn't keep it properly stocked of food for the other, as he couldn't visit save for every three weeks - it wasn't acceptable.

Caedus' face was hidden beneath his hood and it was difficult to see what emotions he was sifting through. His eyes were half lidded, though, that much was obvious. They seemed to glow faintly in the shadows. "There are not too many. There were only a few when we first cultivated our world. We have grown, but we do not breed as humans do. Our weather is synthetic, at best. And our world is nearly always covered by night. But we have lighting. It is beautiful, like starlight in a jar. And our plants and trees all glow. We worked very hard on them." He had stopped eating for just a moment, clearly enamored with thoughts of his home. "I will see it again, some day. I know it. I am still gathering energy. When I have enough, I can leave. I can return to my home. I will no longer be your burden. But, I will see to it that I redeem myself before the end of all of this. I am not ungrateful for all that your kind has done for me. I will make amends for what happened against the Negaverse. I will earn forgiveness."

"Plants...and trees glow." The only thing he could think of, when hearing those words, was that movie Avatar. Did he mean something like that? Or something else? It had his imagination going, wanting to see for himself or somehow know what it must look like. "You must have...wish we had same thing here." It would be nice - lovely really. He had heard about breeding, reproducing, but it was ignored for the moment. It was something worth asking about though...just...not yet.
"Not a burden - never. Have helped us and a friend - at least to me." He spoke gently, sincerely. He didn't like the idea of the other leaving but also understood it. Maybe it was that they had something in common or perhaps it was the idea of another world, one so different and alive! With life...unlike what it seemed every senshi and knight faced up in space. There was just something there which he liked about the other.
"Do not need to. Don't know all of the past - what happened...how this came to be. So long ago...it was not you who did it. Can you tell me about it...what happened...what started it? Why it had to end and what ended? I can help you - energy...I can take a crystal...give you some of mine to help." If the other wanted to go home he would help, slowly, as much as he could and provide some of his own energy to help him. He knew it might annoy some people, bother them, but it was his choice and he had made it - he wasn't backing down from it if the offer was accepted.
"Will help you here and help you get home...just...tell me about then...about your home. Nothing is up there when I go...a wonder, other buildings - no life. Seems like there won't be while I live. Others say the same - no life. So to hear of life up there." It gave hope maybe? Or told him it was possible, that life had been and was still out there...that there was more beyond the life found here.
"Please."

Caedus hesitated for a moment, as if he were perhaps unsure of exactly what Venice was asking of him, but slowly he moved to withdraw a crystal. He kept them in the same pouch he always did and placed it delicately in the palm of his bandaged hand before extending it in offering. Information was valuable to him,but so was energy. "I can tell you more," he said after a moment. "What are you asking about specifically? When is 'then'?" Events were harder to speak of, it seemed, than his home. His voice was not like humans, and his sentences were sometimes far from eloquent, but there was no doubt that he held great love for his home. "My people are a hardy breed. We are stronger than humans. In every way." He paused and looked almost apologetically at Venice from under his hood. "I mean no offense. It is simply biological. We are an advanced species. Humans are advancing, though. I like your lights." He nodded towards the city. "You are all focused on entertainment. I like that, in a way. We are always working. But I love to work, so it is not so bad. I enjoy your culture. Ours is very reserved. I have worried that it makes me standoffish to your kind, but things were different for us. Earth has been burdened only with Metallia. You have powerful warriors. No creature will enslave you if you keep fighting. I admire that."

Taking the offered crystal he pocketed it, before it could tap his energy now. He'd start letting it drain from him later, not now. He would feed it when he could and as much as he could at those times. He wanted to help the other as much as he could, even if he was the only one to help him. "When everything fell apart...did happen at once or around same time - right?" Or maybe not...he was rather clueless about that. But a thousand years or so ago was what he'd heard several times, so it was all around then, it had to thus be connected - right? But why and what had done it.
"That is good. It is good some higher life still lives." His words were genuine, as was his smile. It was good to know there was something else out there, a sort of hope. Something which had survived what their home worlds and wonders had not, though his ancestor had been from here and sent to Ganymede. He had been human as well. His wonder, Venice, still showed some signs of his ancestors heritage here on Earth. Trinkets and other things he planned to keep and add to even. He wanted to make his wonder his and make it comfortable.
"No offence taken. I am hard to offend." He said with more of a smile. "I am glad. I wish you could see other cities - bigger...more lights." Cities like New York and his own home of Seoul. There were other cities, ones he'd seen on tv and in pictures online, that were bright and filled with people. Places he wouldn't mind visiting. He'd been to Tokyo, as he had a cousin who attended university there, and it was...amazing.
"We live short life, as you said, we want to live well - to enjoy all of what we have. We work but entertainment - social need is important. Humans like to connect...internet means we can share from further away - never meeting close together. Travel easier too." He was glad the other liked their entertainment, even to some degree. It seemed they came from two different cultures but how different? There were so many different cultures and ways of living life found here on Earth. No one was likely to be exactly the same but some might be close.
"We are, most any way, people who like freedom and independence - to be different. Some not so much." Like people back home, there was still a sense of fitting in and being like everyone else...being accepted. It was changing though, and he knew it. "Maybe people from your home can learn...can see of us and learn... Some here reserved also but changing. Maybe in books you will see things you can tell about - to your people." When the other got home, not if - when. He would help him in getting home however he could. Even if he was the only one to help he would do it, the other deserved it for helping them.
"I hope you are right - that no one makes us slaves. We are few in number...strong though...but strong enough?" There was no way to tell when this simmering war would bubble over and then would it be too much? Would they fall..and if so then what?

"I cannot say if everything happened around the same time. All I can recall is that Beryl was coming into power. She became very prominent. And then she tried to destroy us. What happened after then..." he shrugged. "I have no certain understanding of what transpired. I can only assume. I wish I could be of more help," he murmured--and sounded like he meant it. Shifting positions slightly, his eyes returned to the starry skies. "I like the lights. If I ever return to Earth, under more pleasant circumstances, I would love to explore. I have faith in the warriors of Earth. It is impressive to me that so many great warriors have gathered on one planet. I would be surprised if such a creature arrived that could wipe you out. I hope..." He was quiet for a few seconds, and then added, firmer, "I hope that such a thing never happens. You must have faith that you can beat Metallia, and all the evil she represents."

Listening to the other he bobbed his head up and down, running his fingers through his hair. "Do you know why Beryl was bad? All I hear is Beryl bad and Metallia too. What is Metallia..?" He asked wondering if the other knew about the second question. "Even little information helps - very little known to me. Only a year as a knight." And even then it seemed some knights didn't know things about the past.
"Welcome back any time in future - I'm sure. If I can help I will...if it is my lifetime." If not...then he hoped whoever was the knight of Venice would help. But who would that be? He wasn't going to have children, not considering his relationship. He couldn't picture having children with some female, especially if it was just to pass on his family name. It wasn't a reason to have a child.
"I will hope. I hope we work together better to save here and elsewhere on Earth. Then you can see the lights and not hide away." He couldn't, not now anyway, walk down the streets of Destiny City or anywhere else. He was stuck here...looking at but not being a part of.
"Is anything you want to know about Earth or anything I can maybe answer."
