It had been a bit more difficult to find Theriar some empty land close to port than it might have been if he'd decided to live on the sprawling beaches. This would be better for his work, though, as he did seem serious about pursuing a career in fishing. She would introduce him to the local fishermen later, or at least bring him down there to meet them, but for now they were getting the builders set up in preparing Theriar's new home.
"Few days," she said casually, her hands on her hips. She had no problem telling the builders what to do. "Will be nice. Good and sturdy."
"So how many doors are we putting up?" a builder asked, and Trelenwy just looked to Theriar.

"Three," he said without skipping a beat. It was always good to have an escape and because he was a bit bigger then average, his house needed to be a bit bigger then average. He let Trelenwy direct most of the things, she was the one who had lived in Matori for longer. She would know the specs needed for it. He got to choose the superficial stuff which he was quite happy with. It felt weird having so many around him and Trelenwy, he was used to the relaxed state of them by themselves, without...interuptions. And lets face it builders were all about the interuptions, from the whistling at passers by to the incessant hammering. He was excited to play with the design but he would be happier when it was quieter too. Back to him and Trel, what he was used to.

The builder nodded and went back to work.
It would have been hard for Trelenwy to not notice the worry on her friend's face. He seemed bothered by it all, but certainly he'd get used to it, just like he'd gotten used to the ocean. She didn't want him to worry all too much just yet, though.
"Wanna check on boats?" she asked. She reached out to touch his hand. "Or walk?"

Theriar squinted suspiciously at the builders, Trel might not feel it but he did. She seemed to pick up on his mood. He wanted to protect her..from the others, but they were not a threat? He had to sort out his feelings, they were rediculous. If he went to look at boats there would be other men there as well. He didn't really like other men all that much, especially crowds of them. "A walk would be good." He seemed to hold his breath until they got away. "I'm sorry, I'm not used to so many ..others being around me."

She nodded and simply began to walk. Theriar had a habit of following. She was glad for his trust in her. If he wanted to get away from the crowd, that was what they'd do! It wasn't like the builders got paid before they finished, and she would help him inspect his new home before she let them accept payment.
The young woman began down the beach, her eyes down on the sand as she pushed a lock of hair behind her finned ear. Then she smiled up at Theriar.
"Jauhar isn't busy?" Or maybe he just avoided it on purpose.

He smiled down at her, relaxing more and more the further they got down the vast, seemingly endless expanse of sand. "The part where I am from is not. I tend to stay away from the places that are. A complicated history...." He gazed off down the beach stoicly..that was until his eyes realighted on her. Then he got somewhat playful, out of the blue and raced a short distance away his eyes sparkling, "Care for a bit of tag?" His feet danced in the sand as he waited for her answer.

Ah, yes. Trelenwy understood having a complicated past, and she definitely understood not wanting to talk about it. Theriar was a good friend, but she wasn't sure it was time to share life stories yet. He didn't seem like he was ready, what with the way he switched moods.
"Tag?" she asked. Like the children? She had never played tag before. She might not be any good, and his legs were much longer! "Um. Okay." If it would help him feel better, sure!

He dashed close and poked her gently, before racing off a short distance to look back at her curiously. Would she follow him? He had no doubt she would be more maneuverable then he was in tight corners, she had a certain grace to her moves, reserved at times but ever elegant. Now if only he could bring out the play in her. "Come on?" He asked. "Lets go." He twirled in the sand, baiting her.

She'd had a lot more practice running in the sand than Theriar had, that was for sure. Maybe she would still have a chance? She didn't want him cutting his feet on shells or anything either.
Oh well. He seemed determined to play tag, so that was that! She paused as if coiling back, and then sprung forward in chase. Her expression was still cool and curious.

Theriar learned pretty quickly that she was faster then he had thought, he kept ahead but not without much planning, that was until a copse of trees slowed him to the point where he was very much within her reach. He smiled a small secret smile that he wasn't really aware of himself. Darn trees anyhow.

Trelenwy wasn't sure how well she was doing when she couldn't catch her partner, but his legs were much longer and his stride much more broad. Did they do much running in Jauhar? He'd said that it was a jungle, so when they approached the trees he thought he might well go shimmying up one, but he did not. Instead she lunged out and grabbed him by the arm. Clearly she didn't understand the rules, though, as she simply stood there holding him.
"Got you." She smiled up at him.

He peered down at her hand, "Indeed you did, wonderful job, now, this is the part where I get to chase you," He wiggled his fingers gently. "But you have to let go first." He grinned gently. This was a lot of fun. These past few months had been the best in his life. He loved Matori, loved having a really good friend. He didn't need seven just one.

Oh! There was reciprocation! Without hesitation, Trelenwy turned abruptly and made a break for the beach. She didn't know exactly where to go, but she figured that she could probably maneuver more easily than Theriar. Her game-play was more in dodging and changing direction than it was about speed.

He felt like skipping after her but he didn't want to tease her that way so he gave chase, holding back just a smidge before, she started this new movement that he could just not grasp, until he managed to get just close enough to touch her. "Tag," he giggled. They must look quite the sight, two full grown people chasing each other around just like kids on the beech but he wouldn't trade this moment for anything.

Oh, so that was why they called it "tag!" Trelenwy laughed and came back after her friend, all smiles as she chased him back across the beach. There were, in fact, a pair of young people watching them from over the rise, but she didn't notice. It was her inability to catch Theriar that made her stop.
"Okay!" she called to him, "You win!" She plopped down in the sand right where she was and looked out into the ocean.
