He was focused on the twiddling of his thumbs, trying not to think about the hurt troll in the other room. Tzofia had not looked well when Static managed to get her here, and the blueblood's imagination could only go in circles thinking all of the worst case scenarios. His own feet stung from walking over the glass, wires and various debree. He had a weird feeling in his chest, like a spark was inside him, and it worried the blueblood as well. Refocusing on the twiddling of his thumbs, Static tried to ignore the sudden changes in his world.

Psykgi's physical injuries were deep cuts and burns from the lazers and falling shrapnel, but hers were comparatively minor. She'd been lucky. Luck being, of course, relative - the bulk of her wounds were invisible, where no one could see. But she would heal - she knew she would. She was a part of the rehab center, so she knew that, with the right encouragement and entrainment it was possible to emerge from the depths of this ill feeling happy, patriotic, and completely intact. She just needed some time with by herself and with her moirail to really take in all of the moobeast-s**t that had happened that night and deal with it.

Time she didn't have right now... she would have to wait, because her city needed her now.

She slapped on some basic wound care, changed out of her ripped, torn, and otherwise useless jumpsuit, and volunteered to assist at the medic tent. They would have pressed her into service anyway, if they'd noticed her up and about. She was handed a clipboard and told to check on some of the trolls that had been stuck in the emergency rooms.

She walked through the medical tents. The air smelled of blood, burnt flesh, smoke and hot metal. She ignored it. Pain was everywhere - she ignored that too. She wanted to run home, hide, and go find Leeroy immediately. She ignored that too. Instead, she put on the best smile she could muster (A little more wavery than usual, to be sure) and stepped into the room she'd been assigned to. "Hello, hello!" she said to the blueblood, taking out the clipboard, "How are things in here?"

Was he supposed to answer her? Tzofia obviously couldn't. Also she was in the other room, so the redblood must have been talking to Static. The boy looked back down at his shoes. He was a higher blood color, but she was older, what was he supposed to do? Finally the child looked up. "Hello" He said quietly. "They're.. uh, fine here, but one room over..." Static trailed off, not really wanting to think about Tzofia's injuries. The blueblood looked down at his hand, which was clearly broken, a few fingers completely smashed, and nodded to himself, yes, he was fine.

"One room over?" Like, in the next room? Like, someone in the next room? That door had been closed, she vaguely recalled, and there had been activity there. She hadn't been paying attention - it wasn't the room she was going to, after all. Why did he care, anyway? Well, she supposed she'd care if Leeroi was injur... nope, not thinking about that right now.

If there was one bomb, there may have been... NOPE, Not thinking about that now.

Nope.

"Well, either way, I'm here." she said, hoping to force enough cheer into her voice to banish that chilling imagery, "And oh my gosh, you are not fine. You need a cast on that." she said, pointing to what was left of his hand, "And probably some painkillers." It was... actually really disturbing to look at. And fascinating. "I can definitely go get someone to authorize those things."

Or he could get it amputated and replace it with a robot hand lol. She's getting to that option.

Raijin would be so disappointed if Static broke down and cried or something. The thought made Static flinch a little. Last week the boy had called out in pain when he jammed his toe in the door. Oh Raijin had been disappointed. Highbloods were supposed to be tough. They would be generals, leaders, commanders, and no one would fallow a little crybaby.

"N-No!" Static said, refusing the cast. The boy looked around the room, and upon not seeing his lusus anywhere he looked down at his feet. "Yeah, um, painkillers, that would be nice." Static finally looked at the redblood teen. She was bruised and battered sure, but she didn't look broken. "Are, are you a doctor?" The boy asked, "What are you doing around all of.. of this?"

She was pretty sure he needed a cast... or a new hand, honestly, because why not? She'd seen trolls with worse excuses and lower hues than his get themselves badass robot prosthetics.

"Oh, me? No, I'm not a doctor." She said, "I'm a volunteer.... and I guess, the same reason you're here. If you were here for the tower..." she said. She heard movement outside the room.

"One moment: I'll just get those painkillers for you, pronto." she said, darting out the door to see if she could catch an actual doctor before they were whisked off to another medical emergency whatever. She managed to do so, thrusting authorization forms, volunteer slips, and cheery persistance at them until she got what she needed - an easily applied, powerful painkiller, the sort that someone might use to help soothe their moirail after a particularly nasty limb-threatening fight... ... she wasn't thinking about that now.

With a burly (and slightly shellshocked) escort to make sure the damn redblood wasn't stealing it for her own use, she returned to the room.

"Here we are!" she said, applying it to Static, "It'll at least not hurt so much... No change in the room next door, by the way. Closed doors and busy sorts of sounds, you know. That sort of thing." she added belatedly.

"Who's in there, anyway?"

It rippled through his arm and he hunched over, trying to be a big brave blueblood and not call out. She was saying something, focus on that, Static told himself, "Um, a, fri- er acquaintance..." Static mumbled. The boy took a big, slow breath in, and stood straighter, letting it out. "Why would you, um, volunteer to be here?!" Static asked. He heard the sounds of suffering all around, the cries, the moans, why would anyone want to be around all this?

"Well, it's better than being out there." Psykgi said, "But really, I was already on the tower project... I might as well be on this... part of it." her voice faltered just a little, though her smile remained. This part of it. It felt better to think of this mess as just a part of the whole scheme of things, but honestly, this part of it should not have been.

Anyway, well, yes. That made sense - a friend. An aquaintence. Just as she'd thought. "Like I said, no change so far!" she said, "I could bring something over there, if you had something for them!"

Static said quietly, "I dont have anything for her..." Static shook his head, he didn't want to think about this kinda stuff, he needed a new topic. The redblood, yeah, have her talk about herself to distract him. "What were you uh, what did you do for the project?" Static looked up a little, curious. "They just said it was some space thing or something... but you were inside, what were they really doing?"

So it was a her. Psykgi filed away the incomplete information for later. "Pretty much that! We were building a tower to bring us back to space, and stopping the Chittentowners from stopping us. And... maybe sending a few people over to deface their stuff. Oh gosh, it was a lot of fun!" she said. Glob, she hadn't wanted it to end. Not like this. "Me, I... I was mostly doing public relations, talking to reporters and donors and such? Making sure that the face of the space tower was a smile, not... misbehaving robots." Couldn't put a smile on this, though.

The tower that lost had led to destruction, pain, chaos, death. but if the other tower had been fun, just an adventure for a bunch of trolls, then really, was that supposed to make it all okay? Static furrowed his brow, feeling back stabbed by trolls he didn't even know.

"Uh," Static said, feeling the need to be by himself. "Im, um, feeling better, so," Static stood up, trying not to shake as his legs buckled underneath him. "So i think ill just, um, leave..." He turned to go, "Thanks for talking to me..." He tried to say in an upbeat manner.

"Oh gosh, you really should stay here for now and get a cast on that." she admonished. She hesitated a moment.

"I have to go, but, ah... I bet your friend will need you when they're up... so you should let yourself heal."

"... and if you want to talk again, my name is Psykgi Mentha, and I'm always available." she wished she had one of her cards, but... well, what she'd had with her had been turned to ash. "All right?"
