Glowing green orbs glanced towards the sky as Basskirk lifted his head into the oncoming breeze. His translucent wings shifted at his sides as the wind buffeted his frame. The stallion let loose a grunt of displeasure, toes flexing into the ground beneath them, shredding blades of grass and ripping them from their roots. "Winter approaches...." he snorted softly to himself, his tone rough and dry. "Disgusting." he groaned, tearing his gaze from the grey clouded sky back to the path ahead. The many eyes that sprouted from his mane and tail shifted restlessly inside his ebony locks though the larger orb inside his split chest remained still.
It had been weeks since he had found himself a form of amusement. It seemed not many were willing to part with their eyes, though fighting to take them was half the fun. Still, it was almost as if the very lands itself were conspiring against him, as the moment he caught wind of another creature it was already too late. "I crave....." Basskirk spoke gruffly to himself as he pushed forward, heavy paws scrapping the ground almost lazily. The cold made him feel slower, sluggish. "I....crave...." he repeated again but paused, mouth slightly open as the words fled silently from his lips.
A laugh.
Short, dark, feminine. Not of his own. Ears perked forward as the stallion swung his head, searching for the origins of the voice.
There, few feet from where he stood, was she. Small, many times smaller than he. Hair billowing in the breeze, horns that glistened like ice jutted from her head. Shining black strips hung from her neck and pools of inky black liquid oozed from her legs. "You." he spoke, his tone volumes louder than before. "Who are you." he sneered lightly, the seemingly knife lodged in his neck quivered from the force of his vocals. How had he not seen her? Sensed her? Had he fallen out of practice or was she simply that clever....that deceptive.....?

Morrigan laughed again. A whimsical, almost lazy laugh that poured out daintily from her muzzle. Her two toned eyes blinked at the large beast that had come strolling into her campground like some kind of sluggish, half sleeping bear awoken from its hibernation only to come stumbling out of its cave, lost. "Its been ages since I've had visitors...." her voice dripped like that of the tendrils seeping from her leg as she lifted a hoof to paw gently at the blade of something thrust into the ground, the silver metal still recognizable to anyone with half a brain. "Curious though as you may be.... you do not look as if you could hold my attention this night." she smiled softly, deadly.
Her tail flicked slightly, the bulk of it hardly moving despite her efforts. Her own ears pricked forward atop her head as she dared to take a step closer towards him. "You come seeking something. What is it?" she tilted her head as she gazed at him, his features seemingly no shock to her as they might have been to another creature. However, she regarded the eyes lodged in his mane, his tail. The areas of his body where his flesh seemed split apart, revealing the red mass of muscles and flesh beneath. She noted the way he winced whenever the big one in his chest moved or the slight tinge of pain in his voice when he spoke.
"I will offer to you.....that you interest me a fair bit." she smiled again, letting loose another short laugh. She turned her head back towards her blade, eyeing it. "I wonder.... how many more rips in your skin... I could make?" she pondered aloud, shifting only her gaze towards him.

The stallion let loose a guttural much like what one would call a growl. His gaze focused upon her own, upon her mismatched orbs taunting him. Teasing him. Laughing at him. Basskirk's paws twitched, his toes digging harder into the ground, itching to spring forward and rip her eyes from their sockets. "I asked.... you a... question." he spoke, the fight to restrain himself obvious. He paid no need to her blade or her idle threats, advancing slowly, wings stretching to their full extent then back again against his side.
"Why should I indulge you with an answer.....when you have yet to give me one of your own." he questioned, tilting his head as he drew even closer. His figure towered over hers, she was like a small cub to him. An easy morsel. How badly he wanted to take his time toying with her, enjoying the torment he could cause with ease.
And yet, he held back. For all her claims of he being the one of interest, she piqued his curiosity much the same. "An answer.... for an answer....." he grunted, stopping only when he could draw his full height above her, glowing gaze peering down his nose at her.

The mare rolled her eyes with a half sigh. "Stallions...." she remarked, tossing her head into a new breeze, the wind whipping strands of her mane about her neck and shoulders. "I suppose if you call those statements questions...." she taunted again, side eyeing him and his reactions. "Most call me The Inkwalker..... few call me by my true name." she smirked mischievously at him, her intentions of not revealing her name quite clear. If he wanted the answer to that, he would have to earn it. It wasn't something she gave out freely.
"There...now that you have an answer. Do I get mine?" she teased, tilting her head back to peer up at him as he loomed over her, his size having less than the desired affect. She watched the orb in his chest begin to rock back and forth relentlessly, like a caged animal trying to break free. As if controlled or influenced by it's actions, the smaller ones throughout his strands of hair seemed to do much the same as their larger overlord. "My my, I hadn't realized how excited you were to see me..." she jarred, lashes fluttering over two toned eyes. Something told her he was going to be mountains of fun to toy with.

Basskirk's eyes fell shut, teeth grinding against each other in effort to stifle the orbs movements. It was a strange mixture of excitement and agony whenever they reacted this way, a feeling the stallion was sure he'd never quite fully get used too. "I would hardly call it...excitement..." he groaned, irritated by how perceptive she was. It was like he was an open book for her to read. A primal desire to shred into her flesh maybe, but he wasn't about to fully admit a twinge of excitement coursed through his veins.
"Inkwalker....hardly sounds like a threat." he spat, her 'title' - if she could even call it such - did little to impress him. "And most would call me 'The Butcher'." he retorted, a brow quirking as he searched for her own reaction. "What I search for... seems to have already been found." he said darkly, a thick grin slowly creeping over his muzzle. He raised a paw, muscles flexed, claws extended. He'd enjoy playing with her. He'd make sure to take his sweet sweet time tearing her eyes from their sockets.

Morrigan eyed his raised paw but remained unflinching. "The Butcher? What, because you've butchered yourself so? Clearly its not from how threatening you are." she dared to laugh in his face, tossing her head back as she took a few steps to the side.
"I'm afraid I shant be your toy tonight Butcher." she snarked, allowing herself to take her gaze away from him as she passed by his side. For a few brief seconds, her back was turned to him before she craned her neck over her shoulder. "I doubt you'd follow through with your plan anyhow. I'm too..... exciting for you." she laughed, flashing him a wicked grin. The more the orbs in his body quivered and shook, the more her grin spread. If he wasn't having fun with all this, then she was certainly having enough fun for the both of them.
"I think.... we could strike a bargain... you and I." she admitted matter of fact, her gaze flickering down towards a frail flower slowly succumbing to the encroaching chill. She toyed with it lightly using the tip of her hoof.

A burst of course laughter bubbled from the stallions lips as he brushed off her insult, amused by her offer. "What could you offer me little one?" he questioned, his tone dripping and dark as he turned to follow her. With each step his paws quivered. It had been far faaar too long since they had felt the warmth of crimson liquid trailing over his ruff fur.
But deep down, he knew she was right. He had been holding back for far too long now. Something kept him from toppling over the edge, and the more she spoke the more he wanted to hear what she had to say... despite how her voice graded on his mind. "Its my turn to be curious. Prove to me you are worth sparing. Maybe I'll let you keep your eyes a while longer..." he smirked, lips pulling back over his teeth in a wicked snarl. "But I warn you....if its not worth my while I wont play nice."

Oh now he was willing to play!
Beaming, Morrigan turned to face him yet again, her smile now about as whimsical and lazy as her laughter. "That's the spirit!" she cooed, thrusting her hoof forward as it came crashing down upon the frail flower, crushing it into nothing more than fragments into the cold hard ground.
"You like toys..... victims. Trophies. I can get you them." she nodded confidently, pacing back towards him, stopping only when she drew close enough to feel his breath against her coat. "A never ending supply to fill your twisted whims.... and all I ask is your devotion to me." she said darkly, her features twisting to match that of her tone.
She tilted her head as his growl of protest, simply grinning in amusement. "Calm now. Nothing that complicated. I bring you victims..... you owe me. Whatever that may be... well I'll decide at the time." she proffered, watching him for a few moments more before pushing past him back towards where she had left her blade lodged in the ground. Craning her neck down she paused just short of snatching it between her teeth. "Do we have a deal?" she side eyed him, waiting for his response, a smirk already threatening to curl its way over her lips yet again.

Basskirk was still inwardly wondering how he had come to be in this situation. Perhaps the cold bitter wind was slowing his judgement just as it had seemed to be slowing his movements as well. Yet she seemed like a tiny ball of fire, dancing around him and offering him the promise of warmth as long as he stayed by her side for however long she decided. A mountain of toys was such a tempting thought that it sent shivers down his spine.
But could she be luring him into a trap?
He thought deeply about her offer, keeping her waiting in silence for several long moments before finally speaking. "If you can offer what you promise..... then I accept." he grunted in his pained voice. He studied her smirk as she took her small blade between her teeth, her eyes giving him all the reactions he needed without words. He waited for her to make the first move before he drug his heavy paws over the ground behind her. He'd follow her, play her little game, see just how much she could deliver on her promise. And if for some reason she couldn't, or simply ceased to do so?
Well then... he'd have a rather lovely set of eyes to add to his collection later.
