To cross the corruption, you must choose a path. The map below shows threads (denoted by white circles with characters on them) and the threads they are connected to (denoted by purple lines).
So, to go to another village, simply choose a thread connected to your village and follow the purple line to different threads until you arrive. Threads are layed out in this format:
character from the map - name of thread (to: place1,place2,place3)
The "to" section shows which threads you may travel to from this thread.
If a thread with a certain symbol does not exist, you must choose a different valid thread to travel to.
Of course, it isn't that easy. The corruption is full of surprises and dangers. So, you must generate a random number before you may pass through. Once you do this, you may trigger an event. If the event is a dangerous one, a mod will control it as you attempt to survive. (If you are in a group, choose someone as the "leader" of your party to generate the random number).
And each thread has a post count to cross it. If you trigger no danger, go ahead and cross in one post if you like. But if there is danger, you must either defeat it, or post as many times as the post count to cross requires before you can get out of the thread. And of course, you have to actually be able to rp and escape the thread. If you're stuck in a pit, it may take you longer than the thread calls for.
Corruption beasts are drawn to chakra, so If you use chakra in a thread, you must roll a second time for the event. So, you should not use techniques to cross the corruption, and it is better to avoid monsters than to fight them and draw in more. You will not have to roll more than twice per thread.
Lastly, there are rare treasures in the corruption. No camping for specific treasures is allowed, but feel free to explore the corruption in search of them. Some are only a bit helpful, some are S ranked weapons. If you find a weapon that can't be used because of your rank, you may still keep it until you rank up.
