The moment her eyes opened, Bhima had forgotten her dream. It was no longer important. Instead, there was this strange feeling inside her chest. Magic had never been Bhima's strong suit, but that was precisely what it felt like. There was a strange draw to leave bed, and quickly. She rolled over to Hijil and shook her by the shoulder.

"Love!" Her voice was quiet, but harsh in its whispering.

Sleeping at night and waking in the day was surprisingly easy to get used to, just as being surrounded by enormous women was. Perhaps the two were connected. There had been a few restless nights as she got used to Chibale, but she'd managed, and - up until then - she had been sleeping a warm, fluffy, dreamless sleep; the good kind that wrapped around her like a blanket.

She woke up blinking and groggy, still wrapped in the remnants of that sleep. "Hmm?" she mumbled, not quite comprehending. She attempted, on a whim, to snuggle into Bhima's hand as if it were, itself, a pillow. "What is it?"

Just because she was used to the sleep pattern of the place they had been staying in for so long, didn't mean that waking up was easy.

Bhima's hand went pat pat pat against Hijil's cheek as if trying to wake the woman.

"No, no, Hijil. It's happening." It came out of her mouth before she could really think about it. What was coming? It. Whatever "it" was. She felt it in her chest.

Apparently she couldn't return to her comfortable sleep. She blinked at Bhima. "Huh?" she asked, intelligably, as she meekly fended off the patting. "What?" She sat up, rubbing at her eyes. "What's happening?" This had never happened before, not like this, so she knew she should pay attention.Or try to - sleep still felt very pressing.

Bhima deflated slightly.

"I'm not entirely sure," she admitted. What could it be? She had this intense urge to head out to Aisha and check up on-- THE BABIES?! Her eyes widened. "I think it worked! I think we got them!"

Oh, Goddess, was this birth pangs?! What if they were already there waiting for them?! They could be so scared! What if someone else took them?!

That woke Hijil up very effectively. "Them? Them what? What? We got..." Hijil shook her head like a waking animal and roused herself from slumber, "Them?" That she still wasn't entirely sure what was going on was irrelevant. Now that she was awake enough to see it, Bhima was clearly anxious and needed her. "Okay." she said, adjusting her clothes, "What now?"

Bhima lunged to her neatly-folded pile of clothes and started to pull her top over her head. She had to at least be presentable. Pajama-undies were not for meeting your new children in, if that was indeed the sensation she was feeling.

"I don't know! I've never done this before!" The usually-stoic Bhima took a deep breath and let it all out slowly. Why did they have to come now? They'd have to go armed! "To be honest, my moms and I never really talked about this part. We're just going to have to wing it. Should we bring bedding?" What if their plea had only just been answered and it would still be days yet?!

Hijil was still lagging behind, but inklings of awareness were starting to glimmer in. She nodded, picking up a snuggly blanket. "I don't see why not?" she said.

Was Bhima talking about their children? But how? How did that work? Hijil was incredulous, but Bhima seemed so sure... Either way, bringing a blanket wouldn't hurt.

Hijil didn't feel what her wife was feeling, but the frantic energy she was giving off was starting to catch like a brushfire in the Tale. She watched Bhima, waiting for the next cue.

Bhima began to gather up some bedding, but didn't take the time to fold it before she headed for the door.

"Come on," she said. "I don't know if they've already opened up or what. My moms watched my flower unfold, so we cann hope, right?"

She took a moment then to grab Hijil's hand and grinned to her. "I can't believe this." It didn't feel like all that long ago that they had been children, meeting secretly in the jungle.

Flowers unfolding... She was talking about their children. Their birth. If that was the case, then... "Yes!" she said, "Lets go!" she took Bhima's hand and moved, barely led in her enthusiasm. They would be equally matched in speed, hand in hand, to see if their children were born. Hijil thought that was beautiful.

The sprint back to Aisha was the longest it had taken yet. It wasn't even due to her partner's lowered center of balance. Hijil was shorter, sure, but she had the stamina of a radaku. Even if Bhima had to slow every now and again, it wasn't for long.

She was out of breath when they arrived, and she stood panting and looking up at the tree. Were they going to know which was theirs? Oh, Goddess, what if they had been taken?! She looked around them, but there was no sign of little ones.

Hijil was out of breath, too, when they arrived. It was from more than just the long run and the rough terrain - Aisha, the vast tree, literally took her breath away. It... She was incredible and impressive, and Hijil didn't think that she would ever get used to... her. Hijil didn't really want to.

Her eyes drifted to the flowers that sat, nestled plumply in Aisha's leaves. Which were theirs? Were they theirs? Was Bhima just hopeful? She squeezed Bhima's hand. Hijil wanted to be hopeful too. "Do you see them?" she asked Bhima, noticing someone - an older Alkidike with pale markings - by the vast roots of the tree, "How do we know...?"

Bhima stepped up on one of the enormous roots and looked up. There were a few lotuses budding, and a handful were larger than the others. it was then that she saw them; two pastel-colored buds dangling heavy from the branches. tears welled in her eyes.

"Love, look." Certainly Hijil would recognize them as well. She wrapped her arms around her wife and kissed her temple. "Oh, my love, my love..."

Hijil tried to see what Bhima saw, and managed to see - amidst the flowers that sprouted along the tree (So many! Were all of them really babies in waiting? It was amazing and incredible) - two flowers that did not look like the rest.

They were the color of a healing bruise, celestial in light purple and blue amidst pinks and reds. They were speckled - just slightly - with hints of white, like stars peeking through mist. They were beautiful. But were they really theirs? Hijil couldn't tell. Aside from their color, they didn't feel particularly special.

But if Bhima was feeling something, then Hijil could only assume that there was something to feel. She hugged Bhima back, and hoped that this wasn't some kind of cruel waking dream for her wife... It had only just occurred to her that it could be so.

Noticed by Hijil but unregarded by the pair as they embraced in their hope, the light-marked Alkidike approached... taking her time, as there was truly no rush.

Bhima was distracted by the bulbs, but when she heard a footstep brush against the rough bark behind her, she whipped around. Was someone here to fight them? They had been seen by many on their way in, after all.

No, this Alkidike had a gentler face. She... had something to do with the tree? Bhima regarded her with a furrowed brow, still holding on to Hijil.
