Sarabauite had a least forty ideal ways to die, included by not limited to: getting bear-hugged to death by Bigfoot and un-ironically choking on an artichoke. Never did she think it would by the hands of a mini-skirted, sparkly fifteen year old with a massive pair of wings on their a**.

But life was full of unfair circumstances, included but limited to again, the way a person may die.

The captain was only trying to fill her quota that night, but was apprehended by the eternal when she attempted to mug her for rent money. Sailor Rynkelo powered up in a flash and then gave chase, driving Sarabauite to flee for her life. She couldn't brave the precise shots of the eternal's magic projectiles, however, and eventually was worn down to a splayed mess on an apartment complex's rooftop. Her groans were silent as the clicks of the eternal's heels neared; rounding her like a jaguar on the prowl.

Eventually, she stopped, and rolled Sarabauite's head to the side with the tip of her boot to get a better look at her pained expression. Yet, the only thing the bespectacled teen could read in the other's eyes was complete satisfaction.

I am the hero. You are the villain. Tonight, you're going to die.

Ah, well, I made it this far, Jinxi thought, shutting her eyes. It wasn't the norm for her to be such a pessimist considering how her life had changed for the better, but in the back of her mind, she knew this fate was inevitable. Just make it quick.

Poppy was, in all honesty, just leaving campus to get herself a coffee -- but she knew enough to look up, when she heard what might have been the clicking of heels above her, and she knew enough that the flashes of white wings not followed by anything were absolutely a pursuit, and -- the point was, really, that she was going to protect whoever this was who was being attacked, because that was what she did, even if stupid brutal Captains got in her way sometimes.

(Her henshin was fast, and she winced -- she'd forgotten to take the wrist brace off. Oh well. She'd deal with that later. Right now she had wings and a lot of hair and an equal amount of power -- and to prove it to herself, she teleported right straight up with her arms crossed, tapping her heel on the rooftop.)

"Get off of -" she spared a split second to look at the Captain in question (She knew this girl! She'd met her as a lieutenant! She was so proud!!) - "her, you creep!" And just for added flavor, she teleported again, behind the opposing Eternal faster than one could blink - grabbing her by the neck, jerking her backwards, away from Sarabauite. "Pick on someone your own rank!"

There was a moment of hesitation, and then another, and then another. Sarabauite waited in anguished fright at the death that awaited her, the sharp pain to knock away her senses, but... none came? She was afraid to open her eyes, as if the fate before her was no better than Schrodinger's cat, and until she became aware she had no way of knowing whether she lived or died.

What brought her mind back to that apartment complex rooftop in Destiny City was the garbled choke that Sailor Rynkelo let out, sealing her fate as life when she saw the teen heroine be jerked back by a powerful hand. Pushing her glasses higher up on her nose, Sarabauite squinted, and then her face dropped to one of surprise because never did she think it would be a familiar face that would save her. She met that sailor before, right? Long ago? Was it really that long ago?

Well, she pushed such thoughts to the wayside now that she was saved, but pain prevented her from getting to her feet.

"Guh— Y-you get off!" cried the eternal as she jerked forward away from Chrysocolla's grip. The energy signature flooded in before the realization it was another senshi did, causing the eternal to stop for a second. "N-no way," she breathed. "You're a senshi, why are you..." She shook her head. "Just shut up!"

Rynkelo splayed her hand out toward Chrysocolla and a number of small, ping pong balls darted out, exploding on contact with anything or anyone it landed on.

Sarabauite could only watch on in desperation. "W-watch out!" she cried, possibly to no avail as the explosions drowned out her voice.

"You're hurting her," Chrysocolla said, very pretty and very calm even with her hand around the other girl's throat only a few seconds ago, behind her again with no flicker of movement (and okay, if she teleported again she might be pushing it a little, but she needed to look cool!), "and we take care of our own. I'm going to give you two options: you stay here, and I call a General King so you can make up for this, or I rip your starseed."

The attack looked painful to be hit with -- but, thankfully, she didn't need to be hit with more than one to teleport on instinct. Her one lousy gift. She could pinpoint the space in her mind so very easily. "That could be really useful," she commented, eyes wide, rushing forward with a sharp strike to the back of the knees and chaos focused in her hand so that she could reach right forward and through for that starseed -- she'd trained, and one lousy <********> baby Senshi (a very brief surge of white-hot anger) wasn't going to touch her or someone she was protecting. Not today. "Would your parents be happy -" down to the ground, reaching, reaching, almost there -- "to know you tried to kill someone?" And oh, that was the anger again, so hot she could almost feel it burning under her skin ready to rip her to a crisp.

Sailor Rynkelo could only lay there, wild-eyed. No, it wasn't from her own anger, it was the reflected fire in her eyes of Chrysocolla's rage; palpable and searing her straight down to her core. The eternal choked back a scream as her starseed was invaded, unable to form a retort as pain lapped through her entire body in waves.

By now, Sarabauite had managed to right herself. Pushing herself to up sitting, she clutched at her temple and shook away the haze of pain the eternal had left her in. Now on the verge of contributing to the fight, the captain hesitated when she saw that the situation... seemed to be well taken cared of. Quite efficiently, actually.

"Ah—"

Something unknown glinted in Sarabauite's eye then as she looked on in childish wonder at Rynkelo's struggles against Chrysocolla's rage. It was akin to being struck with an epiphany, only this feeling was a stroke of confusion and something else entirely, not so much clarity. But she continued to sit there, and watch, not a bone in her body budging. She dare not interrupt her savior's work, especially such a curious venture.

Rynkelo had managed to claw her hands tightly about Chrysocolla's, trying in vain to have her stop. "Please... Please!" she pleaded, losing to the pain. "I'll stop, so please just... stop!"

"No," Chrysocolla hissed, withdrawing her hand with the starseed within, a 5'2" beacon of ice-pure fury. "You don't get to make that choice. I didn't. You don't either." They said they'd go home -- they never would. They'd come back, and she'd find them again, and she'd have to do this again -- she took no joy in this. But they were the enemy, and what she had to do was what she had to do.

She'd probably hoist the unconscious girl into Negaspace later for proper retrieval, if there was a General Sovereign awake; it was hard, to rationalize the murder of someone her age, someone who'd no doubt been lied to and rewarded for violence as was the White Moon's way. An eternal with magic like that...she'd be a lovely asset. And she'd wanted to commit murder - you had to make reparations for something like that!

"U-um -- are you alright?" Her bravado disappeared when she turned to check on Sarabauite, rushing over; "I'm sorry, I should have powered up earlier -- that attack seemed nasty -- are you going to be ok...?"

With her threat neutralized, Sarabauite's mind slipped back entirely to a place of thought. She was so lost to them, actually, that when the sailor asked of her well-being, there was an entire three beats that passed before the captain even reacted.

She jerked back an inch and then blinked up at Chrysocolla, flushing from embarrassment. Sarabauite began to shake her head, then nod her head, then stopped.

"Y-yea... Yes. I will be all right. They didn't... They didn't do much to me." Sarabauite let out a breath. "I was clumsy this time, so it's my fault. I'm sorry you had to save my sorry hide, ahaha... But thank you."

"W-what about you? You got got really, ah"—Sarabauite swallowed thickly—"angry there. I thought you were going to kill her."

With the opponent neutralized and the starseed in her hands, Chrysocolla's demeanor had flipped entirely; she was even more shy than she'd been when telling Rynkelo to stop it, as she'd been confident there. But this was no time for that. "It's not your fault, don't talk like that...it's the fault of whoever told her that was ok." She sighed, heavy, shoulders slumped. "It's not like she's the first one, either. The real problem is with whoever's telling a bunch of teenage girls to commit murder - like we're not even people to them...I'm not going to kill her for something that isn't her fault."

She smiled, then, genuine and soft. "She'll be a lot more useful to the Negaverse, anyways. I prefer willing, but...she was going to kill you. She can't stay on their side."

Chrysocolla's complete change made Sarabauite flinch. For a moment, it reminded her of her mother; how she would flip-flop between screaming her lungs out to gently coaxing her daughter for something in a single breath. There was something different in this, however, that the captain was quick to note.

She... protected me? And tells me not to apologize? ...Why?

Again, it confused the poor Negaverse agent. Such comforts were alien to her, but at the same time, she found some sort of consolation in it that lifted a smile on her face before the feeling did.

"I-I'm glad that you're not hurt. Because of me. Because that would be unfair. Unfair for her, too. To be told those kinds of things and get away with them, but now..." Sarabauite glanced at the sparkle of the starseed in the senshi's hands and retched at its brightness, almost inclined to flick it away like a crawly pest. Instead, she fixed that smile back on her face and said. "But I'm glad she can be useful to us. Senshi are scary... I-I mean, the, um, ones in white. They're scary. Not the ones with the Negaverse, though. Definitely not."

Sarabauite wanted to bury her face in her knees and never look at the world again. Conveying her gratitude was difficult.

"Just, thank you. Really. I can't say that enough. Because sometimes I feel like the Negaverse isn't for me, but then people like you come along and show me that it isn't so bad. Still scary. Really scary, but not so bad."

"I know what she's been and I know what it's like," Chrysocolla said quietly. "I mean -- I only know what I was told about who I was, but -- I was a forced corruption too. She thinks she's doing the right thing because people reward her for it." Normally she might not have revealed the info, but it seemed apropos right now, to try and reassure Sarabauite. "I'm not going to kill any of them unless I have to -- they can always be so much better if they come to us." There was a core of steel to her voice. "I don't want to hurt anyone, really, but they need to learn."

Her smile was endlessly gentle, even with her convictions in view. "Don't worry about words, okay? You're smart and talented, or you wouldn't have been recruited and upgraded. You need to believe in yourself a little bit more. If I can do anything to help with that, um, I'd love to."

Sarabauite quickly nodded her head, only slightly comprehending Chrysocolla's explanation of a forced corruption, but figuring it was the best option in all matters. There may be clarity in the light, but everyone looks the same in the dark. It's why Chaos was superior—its warriors were under one banner, not scattered and morally questionable like Order! So the senshi's words were completely justified.

The captain laughed sheepishly at the compliment, awkward but enjoying the attention. "T-thanks. For that. I mean, for saying that. It's appreciated. A lot. I-I think you've done enough for me. Saving me, I mean. But I'm not turning you down! I mean, like, it's, agh..." Sarabauite sighed. "It's a lot. Just, like, living and this. Juggling this and living. Oh wait, that's kinda weird, I mean. It's hard. Adulting and captaining, since I don't know a lot of people— Can I get your number? Oh, wait. Wait, wait. That's kinda direct, but I mean, if you want to as, like, regular people. Civilians. If you want to talk as civilians, I'd like to have a friend! ...Just someone to talk to, outside of the Negaverse, but also in the Negaverse. If you know what I mean."

"I-if you need any help," Chrysocolla stuttered, ducking her head, "um -- do you have any paper? I'm at school during the day so I can't text a lot, but I'd love to give you my number, if you'd like." She clutched one wrist with her free hand and winced. "...honestly, though, I should really get back to the dorm...you're going to be okay, right? I don't want you to get jumped because I was stupid and decided to leave just because my wrist hurt."
