Lime had only been an agent... for a while if he was being honest with himself. Still, he'd avoided most fights, getting into it only when he felt other 'agents'' nearby. Save face, pretend to care more than anything past his usual lack of caring. Didn't help he had a Russian doll for a weapon. Not very useful.
Tonight was no different, and a casual walk by the used book store yielded nothing. He thought he felt something off but no, he saw nothing in the windows. Energy reading was not the agent's forte.

It was only when he looked at a darting shadow did he realize what he felt.

A cat. One of those cats with a star on their head. The big game as he'd been told. Dangerous but possible. Kill them, get the big rewards.

problem was, they were in the store and he wasn't.

One good solid toss of his weapon later, and the front window shattered.
"Here kitty kitty."

Good, he thought, the cat was still here.

"Here kitty- I promise, come along and I won't have to be mean.." He'd honestly just snap a neck and be done with it. Killing animals wasn't a top thing he wanted to do but hey. Had to in this line of work he guessed. Came with the job package deal.

Looking around he almost missed it. Hissing might have helped but it was still a store. Lots of places for a cat to hide. Lots of ground to cover, but also a lot of places to corner and capture.

Looking up he smiled.
"Found you." He jumped for it, hand reaching out to grab and drag. Lime knew one thing about cats and that was unlike dogs, they were fast and running off.

Oh see now that was a problem. This cat had to come with him. It was his free ride to not having to work and do that starseed thing. "Aw come on now. I'm sure nothing bad will happen." Aside from being you know, killed. Or corrupted. which really only hurt a short while.

"Besides it'll rain soon. Don't ya hate the-" He followed the cat smiling. "-Rain?"

A shove, the bookcase went tumbling. Maybe Lime would get lucky. Bosses wouldn't mind a cat pancaked right? Just so long as the job got done.

"You did say please 'n all, but I got a job, and with you in hand, I'd not have to work for weeks." Laziness was really his sole motivation.

Lime laughed low in his chest. The cat almost sound like a bad thing. As far as Lime was considered, weeks off would be a nice vacation. Let him get focused back on the usual things. Like avoiding school.
"Don't be like that. I'm sure if you ask nice they'll just I dunno. Keep you. We have some dark cats. Just gotta ask real nice I bet."

Catching sight of the cat's tail, Lime jumped over onto a fallen shelf not paying much mind to where he was going, just to getting the objective. That cat.

"Come on kitty." Fingers found fur and flesh and with a vicious yank, Lime pulled.

There were some things that people who didn't own cats just did without thinking. One of those things was tail grabbing. They knew, but not really. No the depth of just how bad they had messed up until several pounds of claws and teeth found your face.

Yelling in shock and pain, Lime flung the cat as far as he could, feeling the claws and fangs rip into his skin in red, hot, searing lashes. <********!" He yelled, hissing as he brought a hand up to cover his face. "********- ********! ******** CAT!"

He stumbled back on the fallen books, too focused on his scratched up face to pay attention to the feline any longer.

Cursing a storm, Lime knew it was stupid. He could have hung on, done something-

But no, he'd let go, and the cat got away. All he could hope as he clutched his face was that the cat was hurting as bad as he was, if not more.
