Along the way she had run into Lex, also wandering and occasionally looking down at their phone. She of course said hello. After finding out he was playing Pokemon Go, she made a quip about searching for ‘tiny invisible monsters,’ which segued nicely into asking him if he’d like to investigate with her the rumor of a larger, much more real monster apparently hidden away guarding a vault at the back of the Armory. And who wouldn’t be interested in that? Despite the fact that she hadn’t really expected him to join her, he’d seemed interested, and she was pleased to have a potential friend along for the ride.
“So, how have you been since coming back?” Sylvia hadn’t gotten much of a chance to talk with Lex at the Halloween party, so she decided to make up for it with some chatter on their way. They were close enough that a brief exchange of niceties would get them as far as the vault, but they could delve deeper into conversation if they wanted to after.
She opened the door for Lex when they reached the Armory. She still had a bit of hesitation entering a building solely used for storing weapons, but it only halted her for a moment before she was beside him and looking around at the decoration again. It was such a big place. And there was a dragon head. She wasn’t sure she’d ever get over the dragon head – at least, maybe not until she met a dragon herself. After the moment of observation, she spotted the door at the end of the building and gave Lex a nod. That was their target. She strolled with him to the other end and took a deep breath, halting before actually opening the door. “Well. Ready to see what’s back here?” She glanced over to offer Lex an intrigued smile.
