Her head bounced off Elsif's back as he walked with her tossed over his shoulder. Rajani was still unconscious though she was slowly coming out of it. The large man had one arm looped over her bare legs to keep her from toppling one way or the other. He did his best to ignore the scars on her legs since he could only imagine the worst. Since he wanted to get her to a healer he wasn't worried about being quiet or stealthy. At first he had thought to take her to Sol but in the end he settled for making his way toward Andile. Mostly because that was where his family was and when Rajani was looked over he'd take her home. Where she belonged.
Ethra was doing his best to keep up with the pace of the man carrying his owner. The maglardilla was screeching the entire time, trying to wake the shifter girl. Her state of being worried him. The insect tried calling out to her again and clicking his pincers to get her attention but nothing worked. So his cries grew more and more loud as he grew desperate.
Rajani's fingers twitched as they hung toward the ground, her arms dangling and being bounced off her distrusted brother's legs. She still had no idea where she was or that she was being carried away or even that there was more skin showing than she would ever be comfortable with. Her boots were gone and the lacing on the back of her shirt was undone and slowly working it's way loose. Both things attributed to her skin feeling a breeze and causing her to shiver. Being so cold would eventually cause her to wake.

The screeching sound was what drew Lixes's attention first, causing him to glance around for a moment, wondering what was going on. Had a maglardilla gotten itself stuck in a trap of some sort? That was what made the most sense at first, at least until he realized that the sound was actually on the move. Maybe it had been trapped and someone was carrying it off to a be turned into stew over a cook fire? A thought that made his stomach rumble just a bit before he sat up on the branch he was currently perching on, stretching out all over. He should probably get home and see about getting himself something to eat he thought to himself, one of those thoughts that was forgotten as he realized that the screeching was getting a bit closer. Leaning over he looked down, his eyes scanning the area, figuring he was going to see whoever was dragging the bug along. Instead what he saw chilled him a bit and sent a surge of a rather strange emotion through Lixes. There below him was someone who was carrying an unconscious Rajani along over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes! It was a sight that had him scrambling to his feet, grabbing up his hammer. Some foul villain thought that he would abscond with Rajani, huh? Off to do all manner of horrible things to her! Not that he knew exactly what they might be, all he knew was villains were villains because they did such things! Things he couldn't allow! As a hero it was his duty to save her from the man! He gave the sleeping Pyre a nudge with his foot before he rushed forward, jumping from branch to branch in a manner that looked quite impressive... and if he tried on any other day he'd of likely fallen on his face. For the moment though adrenaline drove him and it seemed all his jumps were perfect, allowing him to land behind the pair before he pointed his hammer at the guy, "Alright, villain! I demand that you unhand my friend this moment or else I am going to have to smite you!" He didn't know what smiting entailed but all the stories he heard told in the past about legendary heroes tended to involve the world so best to use it. Just so the guy knew he was serious!

The sound of someone landing on the jungle floor behind him had Elsif turning with his knife drawn. He wasn't sure what to expect. However, seeing the hybrid wasn't it. The large male blinked a few times and shifted Rajani's small weight on his shoulder. "Who are you and how do you know Rajani?" He had called himself a friend of his sister's but he wasn't sure. It could be a trick played by the man that had somehow brainwashed his sister into calling him dad. "It doesn't matter, leave us be kid. I'm busy."
Ethra was still screeching until he finally caught up. When he saw Lixes the insect seemed to hush up and rest a little. Clearly he was relieved to have some help in getting his owner back.
The shifter girl started to feel pain and become aware that her body ached. The fog of her unconsciousness was finally starting to clear. She could have sworn she heard Ethra. Was it morning? Was he trying to tell her that he was hungry?

"How I know Rajani isn't what is important here, villain! What is important is what you're doing!" He was obviously up to no good, how could he not be? Just look at him! Everything about him currently screamed 'bad guy' which made him want to get Rajani away from the guy that much more. How he wished that Drexl was here with him. His brother was a big, intimidating guy when he wanted to be and the back up would be appreciated at the moment. For the moment he would have to rescue her mostly on his own, with only Pyre as back up. As the guy said that how he knew her didn't matter and that Lixes should 'leave the be' he gave a shake of his head, taking a step forward, "I can tell that you're busy, kidnapper! I am not about to let you just wander off with her just because you say that you're busy!" As though anyone was as stupid as all of that! Even if the man had a knife Lixes wasn't about to back down so easily. He'd wanted to be a hero all his life and he wasn't about the run off the moment he actually ran into a true 'damsel in distress' as she was stolen by a villain. For all Lixes knew he could be a dragon in disguise! Though... that part of the story never was one that he believed in that much since dragons weren't real but still! One never knew what a villain really was until they finally revealed their true power. As such he had to stay on guard and look for his opening to rescue Rajani.

"I'm no villain, kid. Rajani is my sister. I'm just taking her home." Elsif glared at Lixes, clearly not pleased with the delay that he was causing. Thinking that the boy wouldn't do anything he simply turned away from him to continue walking away. Not that he would get far.
Rajani had finally woken. Her eyes opened to find that she was hanging upside down and being carried. All at once she was moving as if cold water had been splashed onto her. With a scream and wide eyes she pushed up with her arms and kicked with her legs. "Put me down! NOW!" Some of what had happened was coming back but that didn't explain how she was here. "What did you do to me!?" She was accusing Elsif of all kinds of things with that question.
Then her eyes landed on Lixes and she went rigidly still. Cold, hard fear was in her eyes but also shame. He was one of the few people that she could consider a friend and he was seeing her like this!? Not to mention her legs were bare! "N-no, no.." Her head shook violently from side to side and she started to fight to get free again.

Her brother? She had mentioned having one but this didn't quite seem right to him. Giving a bit of a shake of his head he said, "I highly doubt that. I have siblings and I can't say I would ever carry them out like that!" Of course he wouldn't be able to carry them given the differences in size but if things were revered and it was Drexl carrying him, he doubted his brother would just throw him over his shoulder in such a manner. This man had to be lying! It was some sort of deception because he wanted to throw Lixes off his scent! It was all but confirmed as Rajani came to and started to struggle. If she was really related to the villain then she would tell Lixes that he was in the wrong! She wouldn't be fighting against her 'brother' now would she? As she demanded to know what the villain had done to her that was more then enough for Lixes as he went rushing forward, taking a swing at the guy's legs with his hammer. He wouldn't kill him, he was a hero and that wasn't his job, but if he could knock him over then Rajani could escape! Here was to hoping that the guy was too distracted with Rajani's struggles to notice Lixes's incoming attack. Once the villain was defeated they would give him to the proper authorities, for now though he had to focus on the rescue!

Elsif was doing his best to keep hold of Rajani as she squirmed around, when she went still he was able to bring his other hand over to steady her. But then she started to move again and he couldn't get his knife away from her in time. Her movements caused him to accidentally cut her and he hissed. "Jani stop it!" He called out to her just before he was struck in the legs with a hammer.
He stumbled then fell to one knee with a gasp of pain. "What the..?" So the kid would do something after all!
Rajani didn't even notice the cut on her leg, instead she watched as Lixes got closer and when she noticed his hammer coming in she lifted up as much as she could to ensure her arms and head were nowhere near Elsif's legs when it hit. Thankfully it also meant that once he was down she could reach the ground with her feet! "Now let go!" Rajani brought an elbow down onto Elsif's shoulder as she shouted at him.
"Serin take you Jani!" He hissed at her. Even though she was his sister he hit her for striking him. His hit wasn't as damaging and was made to the backs of her knees in order to get her to fall backward to the ground. "Would you stop this! I told you that that man isn't your father and we're going home." Once she was down, still with one of his hands on her leg to keep her from running, a fact she hated and screamed about, Elsif turned toward Lixes and slashed outward with his blade. If this kid was some ploy made by the man that had tricked his sister then he needed to be dealt with.

Lixes was actually pretty surprised, though also pleased, when his swing landed and the guy was forced to take a knee. He'd done it! He actually hit a villain! Something he only had a moment to celebrate though as he spotted the blood on Rajani. Had the guy actually stabbed her with that knife of his? He really was a villain of the highest order it would seem he thought to himself, taking another step forward. "Rajani? Are you alright? I'm gonna..." His words trailed off as the villain took a swing and hit Rajani, knocking her over. It was something that made him go wide eyed and for a moment he was filled with a desire that was far from heroic. There was a moment where it was more like his earthling father's blood, that of an assassin, took place of the blood of a hero that flowed within him as well. His eyes narrowed a little, looking a lot harder for a moment as he lunged forward at the man. Lixes took the haft of his hammer in both hands and swung at the guy as hard as he could, completely disregarding the knife he held and the fact that he was trying to stab him with it. Let him. If he could bash the guy senseless and save Rajani from him then the wound would be well worth the trouble!

Rajani heard Lixes and instantly her face darkened. She really didn't want him to see her like this. It was embarrassing. What if he saw that she was broken and didn't want to be her friend? It was odd how that mattered to her for once. Still, since she was being held by Elsif she kicked and screamed at him to let her go. "Get off! Let go of me!"
Her kicking and screaming distracted him just long enough that he was hit with Lixes' hammer again and this time he really did let go. Sadly he also seemed to have been knocked out and fell onto Rajani, pinning her.
Panic took hold since she didn't know that he was out cold. Her arms flailed and she did what she could to claw and beat on Elsif. Tears ran down as she tried to get unpinned. "Get him off! Lixie! Get him off! Please get him off!" She didn't want to ask for help and she didn't want the only friend she had to notice her scars but Rajani didn't have a choice. Her mind was in full panic mode and her breathing was coming in quick gasps of hysteria.

The feeling of his hammer connecting with the villain was somehow... satisfying, in a way that Lixes really didn't care for. He didn't want to think of it as being a good think to feel his weapon collide with someone in such a manner even if the guy was a bad guy. He shook his head, lifting one hand to rub it against his face, before Rajani's voice forced it's way into his head. For a moment he'd only been able to hear the thudding of his own heart in his ears but she was able to drag him out of it. Left a bit dizzy he looked toward where Rajani was, taking in the fact that the guy had her pinned down... and a part of him wanted nothing more then to take another swing or two. He didn't though, a combination of the fact that Rajani was pinned under the guy and... well, after closer inspection he saw that he wasn't conscious anymore. A real hero wouldn't attack a man when they were down no matter how tempting it was. Setting his hammer down he stepped in closer, reaching out to catch the back of the guy's shirt he dragged him off of Rajani and sort of tossed him aside. Once he'd been moved he held a hand out to Rajani, "Are you alright?" He asked again, oblivious at the moment to his own wounds, not really caring about those. He wanted to check on Rajani, see if she was alright, and get her as far from the villain as possible.

She felt the weight lifting off her and once she could move her legs she was basically doing the crab walk backwards, scooting away from the shifter male. With sharp deep breaths she stared at Elsif, seeming to ignore Lixes' hand as he offered it to her. Her whole body was trembling. Rajani moved her eyes to the hammer that the hybrid boy had left on the ground and then back to Elsif before she timidly made her toward it. Crawling across the ground she grabbed at the hammer and raised it over her head as she got closer to the unconscious man. "I told you I'm not your Jani anymore!" She screamed at him even though she knew he couldn't hear her.
If Lixes let it happen then she would slam the weapon down onto Elsif's back. Likely more than once. "You let them take me! I hate you!" Her cries were mixed in with her tears this time, her voice not quite as loud since her emotions were taking over in place of her anger. There was likely few people in all of Tendaji that Rajani hated more than Elsif.

Lixes watched Rajani for a moment as she moved away from him, heading toward the hammer that he'd left on the ground when he moved to drag the villain off of her. She was saying something about not being 'his Jani' anymore but Lixes was lost as to what that meant. They knew each other in the past, perhaps? Surely the guy wasn't really her brother though, he seemed too... well, villainous for it. So maybe it was something else? An old boyfriend that was trying to kidnap her back into his affections or something? Well, no matter what it was it seemed as though she was going to beat him to death with the hammer and... well, he didn't think he could allow it. Lunging forward he caught hold of the handle of the hammer above Rajani's hand, pulling back, keeping her from crushing the guy, "You can't, Rajani. There is no honor in killing an unconscious man. If he was awake I wouldn't stop you from taking your revenge but right now... you can't. Now, come on. We should see about getting you far from him and you can pray to Serin that she sends some menzuri to eat him or something."

When her downward swing was stopped she let out a sob but her name being said made her look at Lixes. She almost had half a mind to wake Elsif up just so she could beat him with the hammer. Instead she let go of the weapon since it wasn't hers and scooted away from both males. Her hands then started to rub at her arms. Rajani felt dirty and her skin was crawling. "I'm sorry Lixie." The shifter couldn't look up at Lixes as she did her best to curl her legs up under her and hide the scars. Some looked like claw marks but some were bite marks, and not just from an animal. "Don't look at me." What she wouldn't give for a blanket to hide under.
She had always accepted that she was broken but that didn't mean she wanted others to see it. Rajani was too worried about trying to cover her marred legs that she paid no attention to the fact that the lacings on the back of her shirt were completely loosened and open. Nor did she pay attention to the cut that was still bleeding lightly. "Don't look. Don't look." Rajani whined.
Then Ethra moved forward to curl up at her legs and help her cover them. Something that she was grateful for but it didn't change the fact that she felt raw and exposed.

Lixes found himself freezing in place as she told not to look at her before he was instantly whirling around, giving her his back, "Ahh... sorry..." He wasn't sure why he wasn't supposed to look her way but if she demanded that he turn around and not look at her that was what he would do. He stood there, awkwardly, before he said, "We should still get going since we don't want to be here when he wakes up." Mostly because he didn't want to feel that same sort of angry feeling again that he did moments ago. "We aren't too far from Andile and there are healers there. Do you want to go there?" He asked, digging into his pack to get out a bandage that he had in there, wrapping around the wound he'd gotten from the villain's knife tightly. Best that he got that looked at before his earthling father saw it. If he did the man would be sure to hunt this villain down... and that wasn't something that Lixes wanted to think about. It wouldn't be messy or anything, more like the guy would just... vanish. Something he might deserve he thought to himself before he shook his head, lifting a hand up to rub his temples with his free hand.

Andile? It took her a solid moment to realize where they were. Rajani looked once more at Elsif. If they were close to Andile then that meant that she had been unconscious for quite a while. But then she heard Lixes mention a healer and she noticed that he was wrapping a cut that he'd gotten from the man on the ground. "Lixie...?" She asked timidly. Mostly she just wanted to make sure he hadn't gotten hurt too badly while helping her. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for... is it bad? Do you need a healer?" Rajani could do nothing for him since she refused to touch him. Not because he disgusted her, but because he didn't need to be touched by a broken thing.
Slowly she got to her feet, still uncomfortable about her legs being bare, but more worried about the hybrid boy. It was only then that she discovered the pain. Both from her own cut and from a sprained ankle that she likely got after falling from the tree. Rajani sucked in a breath and looked down to see how bad her own injuries were. Even if she had a bone sticking out she wasn't going to a healer. Healers touched.
"I need to get home." Well, actually she needed to go find her boots and hammer, though they were in the forest. She just hoped that no one else found them first. Then again there were other needs too. "I need to wash.." She was still trembling from the whole ordeal. Where could she wash off around here? A stream? A river? Both of those would be too scary for her to go to on her own but she needed to make herself feel clean again. "Lixie.. I need to wash. I don't know what he did and.. Rajani stared at him.
