"Right?" Erebus laughed. "I'm still pumped man~ Let's hunt!"
"Race yea!" Makai flew passed Erebus, and Erebus was slow to step then picked up the pace after them. For a hunt, they were making entirely too much noise and it was mostly them burning energy.
Herd animals began to rummage away from them and the hunt was on.
Not noticing that they were nearing the swamp lands. To them, it was just a darker forest because of the night. The cool breeze followed after them and the sound of grass breaking and leafs began to echo throughout the forest...

LaMorteReine was having a good time. She had killed a full grown lion today and was now sitting on his corpse, looking amused. She was quite the morbid creature. She found pleasure and amusement in the death of others. This lion, she had not directly killed, but given him information that put him right into the path of something deadly. Of course, SHE was not going to help him. She saw it as a failure on his part to show survival skills. He should have thought about what she said more thoroughly so he saw the double meaning. Morte was still sitting on the body when two other cheetahs came into view. They were running at full speed into a swamp and she wondered if she would get to watch a death or two that was entirely not her fault tonight. It did not matter if she did or not, she could still be amused by the idea of it. She wondered if they would pull up before they stepped into the marsh where the mud could suck one down. She wanted to see and yet all the noise they made had her curious. So she spoke before they got to the dangerous bits. "Nice night for a run."

The two bantered and laughed all the way through. Makai jumped in front and of course Erebus was coming in rather quickly. Pushing each other and as soon as they got to the softer lands, and once hearing the voice of another, he landed. Causing his feet to sink in to the ground.
"Who's there!"
Erebus had been behind, and when he heard Makai's voice call out, he looked around- himself, landing on a log as he lowered himself out of view.
"Don't come this way Erebus!" He warned. Quickly Erebus made his way over to him anyhow and around. Surveying where the other voice could have came from before whispering over to Makai.
"Start walking this way- and i'll pull you out."
"I don't feel too well..."
"Just get close enough bro!"
"Fine." Makai hissed back.
As he begun to get closer, lifting his feet full of wet dirt just dripping off of him. It was up to his stomach now before long as Erebus watched every step. What he didn't watch, was the water. The swamp was filled with crocs.. Slowly, almost not even so- the swamp moved with just a trickle, and the silence grew.
"Hurry up!"
"I'm coming damnit-"
Erebus readied to grab him as soon as he got close....
"Did you hear that voice?"
"I think it was your imagination."
"No I heard it- someone is close. I'll get out- and you find them."
"Bro- I'm not going anywhere til you get out. Can't leave your weak a** behind."
"Shut up-"
They bickered back and forth. Unknowing the danger that began to slowly inch its way towards them...

"You are very loud for ones stuck in a swamp. One would think you want the moving logs to eat you." LaMorteReine got up from her perch and used several of the "moving logs" as a path over to the two. Of course this distracted the creatures lurking in the swamp as they started snapping at Reine instead of the stuck male. She knew how to deal with these creatures, though and took out eyes of the ones that snapped at her. She made a leap and got onto a nearby rock to the two males, high enough that the feline could reach it, but too high for the predators in the water. "One should not dally in these swamps if they wish to live." LaMorteReine had all the things circling her perch now and was a little disappointed that she had managed to help the others. Normally she would let fate take it's course, but her curiosity had managed to get the better of her and lead to an accidental assistance. Those males would certainly have enough time to get out of the water again now. Oh well, such was life sometimes.

Her voice picked up against the silence of the swamp, and the two males flustered about some more.
"It wasn't a dream. She's real- THEY'RE REAL!" Makai screamed and watched as crocs bite up at the regal looking cheetah that flawlessly jumped upon the 'moving logs'.
Erebus took this chance and threw himself forward, and threw Makai out of the water. He was always saving him- and this time had been no different. Nearly yanking Makai's skin off as Erebus hurled him over. It was such a fluid motion that he had forgotten to get out himself. A croc snapping behind him, immediately he turned back around and saw the log open its massive jaws. There- he waited for it to come close before taking a swipe at an eye then propelling himself on top of the croc itself, and onward towards Morte and jumping upon her.
Throwing his weight on to her, soaked and looked at her- and it was like she was some kind of ghost of the swamp. The way she looked, it didn't seem natural.
"Erebus!" He yelled out, not seeing them.
"Thanks." He finally spoke and jumped over her and on to the dirt
