Most people in the Parallel know of these things...
• “The Parallel” is just the widely-accepted way of referring to the Milky Way Galaxy.
• Via the Universal Translator, communication throughout the Parallel is made possible by a minuscule device (which comes in many forms, such as watches, earpieces, and the like) that automatically interprets language, updated by the Universal Language Organization (ULO).
• It’s very common to find cars hovering over the ground, though wheeled vehicles that do touch the ground are still common, having withstood the test of time due to their simplicity.
• Trains do still exist, and are a cheap and reliable way to get around.
• Mobiles phones have not become a thing of the past, and are still used, though wealthier individuals may rely on more advanced forms of communication, such as implants or communicators on their wrists.
• A “spaceship” travels interplanetary, a “starship” travels across solar systems.
• There are specific calculations that can be made by ships, utilizing their “jump drives” to travel faster than the speed of light, like hyperspace in Star Wars. It’s very useful for traversing space, but can be very dangerous if not done properly with accurate calculations, so it is best to be done in certain recommended spaces on maps.
CURRENCY
Credits, known officially as Galactic Credits are the main form of currency used throughout the Parallel. It is an electronic currency that can be stored in plastic cards, but unlike credit cards or debit cards, the holder can be anonymous, and the cards be exchanged freely, though they’re often swiped for purchasing. Their value is not too different from the US Dollar.
FICTIONAL RESOURCES
Cronium (Crn) – named after the titan Cronus, Cronium is a valuable and dark metal known as the best balance of strength and weight in the galaxy, 10x stronger than Titanium and as light as leather, renown for its uncanny ability to absorb kinetic energy. It is found in Suldar and sold in small quantities to foreigners for high prices with the permission of the Suldari Dominion. The Suldari, however, do permit its purchase by its own citizens, though selling it without government permission is a crime punishable by death.
Acronium (Artificial Cronium) (Acr) – an imperfect recreation of Cronium manufactured by Io in 2364, it is only half as strong and nowhere near as valuable, but found in greater quantities and used by most high-tier men-at-arms in the Parallel. It may not be Cronium, but it remains highly sought out.
Junium (Jn) – a metal slightly stronger than Cronium, but slightly denser than Titanium. It’s often used for building materials, and most high-tier ships utilize Junium.
Plutite – a glowing blue crystal used to power most energy-based weapons. Alongside its superior, Cronite, Plutite is even used for expensive jewelry.
Cronite – a rare, glowing white crystal used to power engines on starships and many reactors. It’s nothing more than Plutite that’s been exposed to more pressure.
ENERGY QUALITIES
In just about every circumstance, plutite energy will be the successfully pierce through most material, the exception being against acronium, cronium, and junium, at which point it’s like how an individual could try to swing at a knight in full plate armor with just a steel sword, with varying difficulty defending on the quality of the plutite and the quality of the acronium/cronium/junium it’s striking.
When used for melee weapons, energy blades have the most usefulness, but those looking to find the most efficiently in combat may prefer acronium, cronium, and junium.
