Text: One shouldn't be out this late...Words the girl had heard
many times over....Even as she crept along the darkness. A small, forced chuckle could be heard from her...as she crept along the seemingly labyrinthine hallways.....The ominous sounds that echoed throughout the othewise empty air...
Thump.....Thump.....Thump..Footsteps....!
Someone was approaching....Moving at a steady pace...
'I....It'll be okay...!' the girl assured herself, as she tried to move as quickly, yet quietly as possible. It was nothing..it would be nothing....
Thump...Thump...Thump..The footsteps were slowly growing closer....But, the girl wouldn't dare turn around....Wouldn't dare slow her pace...Because if she was found...it was all over.....
'I...I have to move..!' she thought as she
scurried, trying desperately to avoid turning her head...knowing that one look would be enough to confirm her suspicions...That which was following her being able to catch up to her, and....
No..it was unspeakable...
She rounded the corner, and pressed her back up against the wall...Trying to calm her breath..
Da-Dum...Da-Dum....Da-dum..Her heart was pounding....It was beating at a hastened, uneasy rhythm....Pacing...

The squeaking of protesting metal, structural support whining at it's movement....But, it calmed almost as quickly as it started....And, the girl held her breath.....Waiting one...Two...
Three moments, before stealing a glance back at the shifting shadows...The encroaching darkness.....
It was empty.....It had to be.....
She quietly paced a bit faster as she started down..rapidly approaching her destination....
It would just be a quick turn, and the opening of a door....And, she would be free......
Just a bit more....and it'll be over.. she thought, as she rounded the corner..
Clink...shlink..The sounds of something rattling....Metal scraping against metal....
Ah..?! Someone's there?! she thought, cupping a hand over her mouth. She was trapped....
If she went forward, she'd be seen by who was there...But, if she went back, she'd run into...
whoever was following her...
A tense position....A worrying situation.....As the girl pondered her actions...Never for a second considering an even greater threat..
Tap Tap..The possibility of a third figure, seemingly appearing out of nowhere....Having crept up on her through the shroud of nightfall, and with a firm motion of the hand......
"EEIIIIIIIIIIYAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed with all of the air in her lungs.....As the room filled with....
"Pffffffffffffffffffftahahahahhaahahah! Oh man, Sis, I got you GOOD".......

The looming darkness was quickly abolished by the presence of light, a few flicks of some switches illuminating the situation. Suzume had been grasped by one of her older brothers, the other having been rattling in the kitchen...And the other...
"Ah..? Suzu, are you okay?"Had been headed towards the bathroom, as she had made her daring journey across the house....
"Thaaat was meaaaan!" the girl protested, lightly bopping her brother's chest.
"I just wanted some pudding..!"Even though Mom said you can't have any late at night?" the eldest one called from the kitchen, looking over.
"Look, I know you got that new one from that Sakurazaka kid..."'You mean her Boyyyyyyyyfriend." the teasing one called, as the girl shoved him lightly.
"Sai's my best friend!" she lightly whined, shoving him away.
"He said that he ordered it special for me! Of course I'd want to try it!""Ah..? Oh...Sis and her pudding.." the other brother called sleepily, starting back towards his room.
"I'm uh..going to go back to bed now..""I know you would. So, I was waiting here on the couch for you." the teasing brother called, with a small smirk.
"Juuuuuust in case you decided to try to sneak in. Happy Halloween, Sis."The eldest brother shook his head lightly, but couldn't hide a smile, as Suzume puffed up her cheeks, and folded her arms angrily
"You're evil!" she snapped towards the teasing brother, trotting back to her room in a huff.
"Like, the ULTIMATE Evil!"
