If there was one thing Misha believed in strongly, it was that a good party could solve a lot of problems. Judging by the number of bonfires and pizza parties and the like that had already happened on the Prytaneum campus, she felt safe in saying her opinion was shared by the others. After what they had been through, too, she felt they were more than entitled to blowing off a bit of steam. If the steam involved booze and dancing and costumes? All the better. It wasn't like they hadn't already seen some of their fellow Chosen in less-than-normal clothing. A Halloween costume would actually be more covering! Of course, a girl could only do so much organizing on her own. After making fliers and lists and starting to broach the subject with others, Misha had hit the wall. Now it was time to call in some muscle. That brought her to a particular door in the Zeus dorm and she knocked, smile on her face. She only hoped that Brian was home.

When Brian went to the door and pulled it open, his eyes were downcast. He wasn't forcing a serious face so much as he seemed to be thinking, but when the door was open far enough for him to be soon, he smiled. Misha. Oh, good. Of course it wasn't likely to be anyone else, but Misha's was always a pleasant arrival.
"Hey! What brings you here?"

"Oh, the usual." Misha took a moment to register his bland, meaningless expression but she smiled brightly nonetheless. If there was one thing she had learned about Brian, it was that his control raised the bar for every stoic out there and a neutral face did not necessarily mean bad news. Of course, if it did mean he was upset, she had faith she would be able to ferret the information out of him sooner or later. Hopefully, sooner. The thought of Brian being upset made her want to bite hard on her lower lip. She resisted. Leaning a bit against the doorjamb, Misha brought her face closer to the small opening so she was eye to eye with him. "I missed you," she answered. "I also wanted to ask a question so it's two birds, one stone. Got to get my regular dose of Brian or who knows what would happen to me?"

Brian opened the door the rest of the way.
"I hear it's important to stay on a strict Brian regimen," he teased. He made a face at his own comment than, laughed and shook his head. Eh, it was only Misha. it was hard to embarrass yourself with Misha. It was a part of her magic. "What do you need?" He was expecting an invitation or a task. Misha didn't usually ask things that required a trip to his room.

"A hug." Shameless as ever, Misha opened her arms wide for him. She only had to wait a few moments before he laughed and stepped into the hug. Her arms slipped around his waist and, as usual, she rested her temple against his chest, her head tucked nicely under his chin. "Mmm, thank you," she murmured contentedly. She waited a handful of heartbeats before disengaging. Then she stepped back and smiled up at him. "Have I told you lately how amazing you are? And that is completely honest and not flattery to butter you up before asking you to help me with a project." She said it in a laughing rush but he knew her well enough to see the earnest honesty in her eyes; it mattered to her if he thought she was using him.

A hug, eh? Somehow Brian doubted that was it. Either way, he threw his arms open with a laugh and accepted her into his arms. Just like usual, he fit around her and rested his chin on her head. A hug was always nice. He wasn't the most physically inviting man in the world, but he loved a good hug.
"Aww, thank you," he said as she pulled away, tilting his chin down somewhat. He reached out and booped her hip. "What do you neeeed? I'd be happy to help." Whatever it was, he trusted Misha to not try to force him to do something horrible. He was glad to assist her. He owed her plenty for her friendship.

His boop earned a giggle and she swatted at him playfully. "Brat!" Misha stuck her tongue out at him. Then she relaxed back into a smile. "Weeeelllll, I was thinking that Halloween is coming up and I think we should have a party," she explained. "Do you think you would mind helping me move heavy things with your manly strength? And maybe even carry some bags back from the store with me?"

Brian's smile broadened at the insult, but he did recognize the actual question. If he was good for nothing else, he could carry heavy things. In fact he was a little flattered that Misha would come to him for help. She must have known she could trust him.
"Flatterer," he said, and then his voice went a little softer and a little more earnest. "Yeah, of course I'll help. When do you need me?"

For a moment, Misha almost said always but caught herself. Internally, a thoughtful frown flitted through her mind at the impulse but she dismissed it in the next instant. Even she had lines with flirtatious talk, right? Aloud, she answered, "Whenever is convenient but soon if you don't mind. I figure if I get the supplies early enough then I can take some time in the set-up. I want to get the word out, too, so people have time to get costumes. I'm going to require costumes." Misha watched his expression, the earnest tilt of his head, and relaxed further, weight shifting to pop one hip. Her smile warmed more. "How do you feel about Halloween? I'm not going to have to wrestle you into a costume, am I?"

"Well, I'm free now and for the rest of the next few days." Pretty much forever, now that he was unemployed, but he didn't want to burden Misha with that fact. She would worry, and the last thing he wanted was pity.
He wrinkled his nose and lifted his lip in an exaggerated scowl. Costumes! He never knew what to wear and pretty much always felt ridiculous. "I'll help you set up, but Halloween isn't really my thing. Do I get Special Helper relaxed requirements?"

Misha laughed at his hopeful suggestion. She could not help it! His expression and tone just tickled something and she almost hated to put her foot down on his question. "Nope! Sorry, Brian, but even my Special Helper is going to have to come in costume." Reaching up, she stroked gentle fingers along his cheek before making a sympathetic noise. "Poor sweetheart. I'm so mean, I know, but I'll help you find a costume if you want."

"Tch, alright," he replied with faux disappointment. He'd find something, he was sure, especially with Misha's help! "Yeah, I'd like that. I never know what to wear to costume parties. I haven't been to one in years."

"Then we'll have to make sure this one is super perfect. Just for you." Misha beamed at his capitulation and dropped her hand, lacing her fingers with his for a quick squeeze. "If you like, you can even have an opinion on my costume and I'll take it into account. As a perk for being my Special Helper."

Brian arched a brow and swung their hands a moment.
"Why do I get the feeling that you already know exactly what you're going to be?" he asked. Of course if Misha said you got some say, you did. That didn't mean she had to take it into account at all! "Just come find me when you need me, hm? I'll stick around here. Unless you want me to come now?"

Misha shot him a slightly guilty grin. Only very slightly guilty. After all, he said whenever and now counted as whenever, right? "Now works if you're free. I don't want to drag you away from something more fun than shopping with me." Her pale eyes danced. She had a feeling she knew his answer but it still showed manners to ask.
