'Language Arts'... Champagne couldn't really say she minded this class. After all, aside from the spelling and grammar bits, a lot of it was reading and writing! The research projects were never that fun, unless she could find a topic she liked, but short stories? Shakespeare plays? Banned books she could only find in this class? Yes, please!

Language Arts had turned out to be a fun class after all! The research papers had all been open topics within a set theme, so she could have some wiggle room and choice in what she wrote about, and they'd even gotten to watch a couple movies based on the books they'd read! Of course, the books were way better than the movies, but wasn't that typically the case?

Mischief had a secret, and language arts was the class that brought it out in them. It wasn't an important secret, at least so far as most would see it, but for Mischief it was all about image and writing poetry was not the image that they wanted the school to see. So when poetry and poetry writing were on the class schedule, they griped along with everyone else, hiding the fact that they were eager for the assignment that came with it.

Mischief made sure to drag their tail to class this time. Saturday class had been nothing short of torture and they had no intention of repeating that mistake again. Now they sat in the center of the room listening as the class discussed the meaning of a Shakespeare play. It may not have been the most exciting topic, but it was so much better than wasting the weekend writing a report.

Mischief wasn't overly sure why everyone seemed to think there was some deep meaning to art, sometimes a red box was just a red box, a poem about a pretty flower was just a pretty flower, and a play about fairies and donkey-headed men was just something to laugh at. Why did they have to pick it all apart until it just wasn't fun to read anymore?

Candy walked into the class he was least looking forward to. It wasn't that he didn't like to read, even he could get into the right book, he just didn't know when the last time the right book had been a school assigned one. It was all flower poems and thou's and thee's that made no sense and was of no use to anyone born in this century country. He dropped down into his seat dropping his books on his desk with a loud thud, not caring if he annoyed those around him or not.

Funtime Freddy made his way into the Language Arts class and took a seat. Language Arts wasn't a bad class, in his opinion. There were times where he enjoyed reading the material he was told to read, whether it was to himself or out loud to the class. Today looked to be a read to yourself kind of day though, so he quietly took his book out, found out where they were supposed to be reading from, and got to reading.

Candy stared at the book without really seeing the words. He was supposed to be reading it to write a report on it, but just a few pages in his mind wandered and he had stopped really comprehending what it was that his eyes were skimming over. It didn't matter anyway he was sure he could bluff his way through the report by just reading a few random pages here and there anyway.

Candy jerked his head up with a start and looked around quickly. He had fallen asleep over his book. Had he made any noise, had anyone noticed. Of course they hadn't, it's not like he snored or drooled or anything. However, when he made eye contact with the teacher, she was giving him the darkest glare he had seen in a long time. Candy quickly ducked back behind his book, still feeling her eyes burning into him.

Huh. Turns out Language Arts wasn't THAT bad after all. They got to watch some movies based on the books they read. Too bad the movies cut so much stuff out. Probably so they wouldn't end up being way too long. Ah well. Toy Bonnie would just need to stick to the book versions instead.

Toy Freddy made his way to the class and seated himself. Language Arts wasn't that bad. Better than maths anyway. Today they were reading Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy about two "star-crossed" lovers. The bear 'tronic pulled the book closer, his brow furrowed in thought as he read quickly to himself.

Candy had expected the assigned reading book to be as terrible as all the rest they got stuck with. He just wasn't a fan of fictions. He liked the real stuff, about people and places he actually knew of or could visit someday. So when he found himself so engrossed in the murder mystery that he didn't want to put it away when the class was over, he was more than a little shocked at himself.

Colby was much more nervous about going to his next class. The kids in social studies didn't seem to like him, and he wasn't sure why. He visited his locker and stood there for a long time without needing to. Maybe... maybe he wouldn't make friends after all?
The bell rang, signalling that he had to hurry up. In a panic, he grabbed every book in his locker and ran down the hallway to the classroom. He made it barely in time, since the teacher was still preparing the lesson on the board. He flopped into a seat near the back of the room and pulled out a book, hoping it was the right one.
