October is halfway over and that means one thing: Halloween! Shops are decorating, neighbors are covering their homes in fake spiderwebs, and pumpkin patches are showing up everywhere! Some neighbors seem to be avoiding the holiday and those have become targets for a few pranks. So what are you doing to get ready for Halloween Night?
There was a something of an unspoken law amongst the rebellious youth of America. Anyone that chose not to decorate their house for the holiday of Halloween, well, they were accepting the possibility of their home being targeted for another sort of decorating. Only it wouldn't be fake webs and jack-o-lanterns these folks would find, but runny remains of broken eggs, or the white lengths of toilet paper streamers hanging from their trees.
No, it really wasn't very nice, but of course, nice wasn't the point. Besides, Cassie had never considered herself especially nice.
The point was to have fun, and, maybe, those folks that hadn't help up to celebrating this year would think twice about not celebrating the following year.
But mostly it was about fun.
Which was why Cassiopeia Lyons indulged in such delinquent activities. What was life without a little fun and thrill? Boring, that was what. And Cassie wasn't a big fan of being bored.
It was a real shame her brother wasn't around. He'd have loved to head out with her, but Cassie really wasn't sure where her fashion challenged twin was hiding tonight. Ah well, she'd just have to ride solo tonight. which, honestly, wasn't that unusual as of late. Ever since the youma attack that had led her to the Dark Mirror Court, there had been a lot more evenings on her own, or with other dark mirror senshi, than with her brother, which Cassie was hoping wouldn't be permanent. Once things settled a bit, once she got the hang of this senshi thing, then maybe they'd get back into their usual trouble making ways.
Tonight wasn't that night, but it would be fun.
She was dressed in black; black hoody, black leggings, black beanie hat. Even the bag she had slung over her shoulder, the contests of which consisted of a carton of eggs and ten rolls of toilet paper. She was the poster child for trouble. The only color on her person was the pink of her shoes, and the colorful paint that decorated her long board.
She was heading away from the more metropolitan area that their apartment resided in, towards the neighborhoods that lay on the edges of the city. Newer subdivisions with cookie cutter houses placed close together. Good places for trick-or-treating, and causing trouble.
The house she stopped in front of was a two story number done in a light blue. There was a star over the garage door, but that was the only embellishment Cassie could see. No pumpkins, no skeletons, no spiderwebs. Nothing.
With a smirk, the teen let the bag fall off her shoulder, unzipping it as she left her board on the lawn beside the sidewalk. The first thing her hand touched as she reached inside was a roll of toilet paper, and she pulled it free, unrolling a long length from it as she swept her gaze up to the high branches of the large tree that rested at the center of the yard. "Let's get started, then."
