For a single night, strange bats descended on Destiny City after construction disturbed their nest! They flew over Destiny City's Fall Festival and a few nearby locations, descending on the local populace and attacking anyone they could. Being bitten by these bats leaves two small marks that will itch for a few hours. Then, anyone bitten will feel exhausted and fatigued. They become extremely sensitive; skin feels like it becomes overheated in sunlight, and bright lights are painful to the eyes. The victim will feel constantly cold and hungry, no matter how much they eat or drink. They may also be prone to agitation and bouts of violence. These afflictions may last only a few hours or a few days and then suddenly disappear. Destiny City can find no explanation for the sickness, and it has been unofficially dubbed 'The Vampire Sickness'. If you were bitten, how are you handling this? Is someone you know suffering the affliction? Are you convinced it's a conspiracy or joke, and just media frenzy?

Tom sighed as he looked at the hospital bed that contained his little brother, his little brother who was currently suffering some of the effects of “The Vampire Sickness”. Unfortunately with the way he had been attacked at the fair it was no surprise that he had gotten the affliction. Jason had pretty much been knocked down and was unable to do any fighting at all with how badly he had been attacked.

Jason would probably just be suffering in Tom’s apartment right now, but he had to receive treatment, not to mention shots, from the attack and so by the time the “Vampire Sickness” had started to rear it’s ugly head, the blonde boy was already in the hospital and could be restrained if needed.

Tom looked again at the machines that were currently hooked into his brother, guilt flooding him. Logically he knew that he had done everything that he could have to help his little brother, but he still felt the guilt for not making sure that he was with him when they first tried to find cover.

He was also angry. Those definitely weren’t typical bats that had attacked the citizens at the fair. And he didn’t think they were youma. Youma didn’t seem to be too uniform in appearance at least, but perhaps he just didn’t know enough about them to know that they could be the same in appearance and skill. But he had to wonder…

Jason was starting to wake up though and Tom turned his full attention towards him. He gave a small smile to his brother and moved closer to his bed. Jason didn’t say anything though, he just seemed incredibly tired and Tom couldn’t blame him. He was probably in a lot of pain right now and had to have a couple of blood transfusions also. Luckily for Jason, Tom had the same blood type and since the bats really hadn’t hurt him they had allowed him to donate some blood to his brother.

Tom just nodded to his brother, a silent way of saying that he could rest and he would be there when he woke up. Jason gave a quick sigh and fell back to sleep. Tom heaved another sigh as he opened up his ipad and went back to his mystery novel, though it was hard to concentrate on it when he still couldn’t get the bats out of his mind. He wondered if going to his general would reveal anything though he doubted it. It seemed as though the Negaverse was okay with sacrificing their own members if they thought it would get the job done, which was something that the senshi seemed to bat them at. Or at least they cared for each other.

He could only hope that his brother wouldn’t have anything like PTSD from the attack, though perhaps this way he could convince both his brother and his parents to take him back to California. Maybe this way Jason would realize this was a place he really didn’t want to be, though Tom could only hope that his parents didn’t try to force him back also.
