You are just getting ready to head to sleep and you're all tucked in when something catches your eye. It's a strange shape, or light, in your room. It's only there for a second, but dread immediately floods through you. It was just a shadow, right? Maybe you pulled too many all nighters? Forgot you put up that new poster and thought it was something else?

...Or was it something else?

Either way, whatever you thought you saw was only there for that fleeting moment. What did you see? How do you react?

...Are you going to be able to sleep tonight?

He was home really late tonight, having worked late and patrolled a little after. Even in his quick patrol he managed to grab a bit of energy from a few unsuspecting idiots. He'd dropped it off, checking in, before he headed home,

Ryan made his way into his room, after a shower. His fiancee lay already asleep something that surprised him, even with the lateness of the night. He changed quickly, opting to pull on one of his fiancee's shirt and crawled into bed.

Tonight there were no conversations of the day, that often happened when he came home late and Mitry was already in bed. He enjoyed the sleepy conversations and appreciated the sometimes sated end they often came to. His fiancee was a randy b*****d, but he loved him all the same. His cousin simply didn't understand, but he also didn't spend much time around Mitry. He settled beside the man ready for sleep to claim him when he swore he saw something in the corner behind Mitry. He wasn't one for scary movies not because they scared him, but because as a photographer he often looked at them from an entirely different angle, which was odd because that wasn't the case for most other movies. Scary movies were rather dramatic though. This, however, settled feelings in him immediately that scary movies couldn't.

He focused on the shadowy figure grabbing hold of Mitry's arm and squeezing, as the figure fades away. His heart is pounding and he wonders if he was seeing things. He knew however his fiancee had a bad habit of leaving the door unlocked. Had the door been locked when he came in? He wasn't sure at the moment and that was terrifying.

He remembered then that Alyonna was supposed to be with them that week. He wasted no time getting out of the bed and rushing onto Mitry's baby sister's room. He could see her, Alyonna was sleeping peacefully in the crib, completely unaware of Ryan's freak out. He walked over to check her window, and the closet before going to check the front door.

It was locked, he of course had locked it when came in. He checked all the windows, before heading back to Alyonna's room and walking over to the crib. She was sleep as before, still he carded fingers through her baby soft hair feeling slightly calmed. He almost laughed because he hadn't even liked the baby and was irritated with Dmitry's parents for thinking him free daycare. Now however he was use the little girl who loved morning runs and gave him baby grins.

After a few more minute he went back into his room climbing back into bed with Mitry. He supposed he was seeing things, a bit of paranoia on his part. Maybe he was overtired, work had been hectic of late and October meant the freaks were out. He and Katie were working on a story about the night time stalker. Many people were reporting being followed to the police and he and Katie had been assigned the story.

At the moment he didn't feel much like sleep though, sitting up against the headboard and turning the tv on low as he looked to his open bedroom door quickly before focusing on the show that was starting.
