Destiny City Media is aching for some interviews following the Bat Attack; after bats attacked the Fall Festival, newspapers, news stations, and local bloggers are trying to speak to everyone in sight. They're looking for interviews, pictures, anything they can get their hands on! Are you interested in sharing your story? Your character has been invited to answer a few basic questions--where were they when the bats attacked, what happened, and how do they feel about the safety of Destiny City now? Your character can give an interview for any media they want. Or, maybe, you are the one conducting the interview!
Odessa leaned against the front table or her booth, still in shock over the bat attacks. She'd managed to make it out with only one small small set of puncture wounds on her forearm. Others hadn't been so lucky. Paramedics were still on the site, carting people off to the hospital. She shivered, watching some poor soul being strapped onto a stretcher and loaded into the ambulance. That easily could have been her, had her bat punting not been so successful. She shivered again, and looked down the aisle in the vendor area.
Much to Odessa's surprise, some fair goers still seemed to be looking through wares, and even heading over to the haunted house. She shook her head, causing her wild hair to migrate over her eyes. She shoved it back, and shuffled into her booth. Sales had certainly been going pretty well before the whole bat attack, but she still had quite a few items left. She pondered if insurance would cover a bat attack. ... Probably not. She sighed, and righted a bucket of chrysanthemums that had tipped over during the fighting.
"Miss? Miss? Can we ask you a couple of questions for Destiny City TV?" Odessa poked her head out over the table, and looked up at a neatly quaffed reported, and her camera crew. "About the bat attacks, miss? Would you please?" The reporter smooth her skirt down, and gave Odessa her best smile. "We just really want to get the story out there, and you can help."
Odessa gave a shrug. "Sure, why not?" Perhaps they'd get some nice shots of her booth in the background. That would surely be good for business. The reported grinned, and stepped behind her front table, handing her a microphone, which she clipped onto her shirt.
"Before we start, I think you might have a smear or dirt on your forehead? Or should we keep that? Make it looked like you really fought off some of those bats. ... Yeah, lets keep it." Odessa touched her forehead, and felt the gritty smear. Seriously, how long had that been there. She flushed slightly, and tried to pat her hair into a semblance of organization.
"Okay, we're live in 3... 2... 1... Good evening Destiny City, I'm here with a survivor of the bat attacks, here at the Fall Festival." The camera panned to Odessa, and she nodded, bracing for the questions. "Can you tell us what you were doing, when the bats attacked?"
"Well, I was here working at my stall, Floral Frights, helping out some customers, when the bats arrived. At first I thought it was just a cloud, but nope. It was bats. " Odessa shivered, but felt a certain sense of pride that she'd managed to get a god reference in to her stall.
The reported nodded. "I'm sure that was harrowing. Were you attacked personally? " The camera panned back to Odessa, sweeping over her body, as if to check for injuring.
She nodded again. "Yes, one of the very large bats managed to bite me. But it's just a light puncture wound. The paramedics say I'm fine, but that I need to go into for a shot later. I just feel bad for the people who got really hurt. You know, it seemed like the bats were ... sucking blood out of them, as weird as that sounds. "
The camera panned back to the reporter. " There you have it. A tale of survival from the fairgrounds this evening. You can following this unfolding story on our website, or of course stay tuned for more coverage." Having wrapped up her segment, the reporter smiled at Odessa. "Thanks! That was great!" She reached out to Odessa, to retrieve her microphone. The redhaded handed it back to her. Without as much as a backwards glance, she was off to interview someone else.
Odessa glanced back at her booth. It seemed like it was time to start packing up. Hopefully there wouldn't be any more bats.
