Destiny City Media is aching for some interviews following the Bat Attack; after bats attacked the Fall Festival, newspapers, news stations, and local bloggers are trying to speak to everyone in sight. They're looking for interviews, pictures, anything they can get their hands on! Are you interested in sharing your story? Your character has been invited to answer a few basic questions--where were they when the bats attacked, what happened, and how do they feel about the safety of Destiny City now? Your character can give an interview for any media they want. Or, maybe, you are the one conducting the interview!
Robert sat down with his dinner, sighing as he leaned back in his chair and turned the TV up to continue watching the dredge that was the coverage of this strange happening. He was not impressed in the slightest, nor did he care about those that were injured. Well. There was one person he cared about, but she had not been there as far as he knew. And he had not seen her in a long time now. Perhaps she had moved on, or was smart enough to stay inside. Why anyone went to gatherings and social events, these days, was beyond him.
He was just digging in to his food when he heard a familiar voice derpily stumbling his way through a question he clearly had not been expecting. Robert looked up, seeing Anthony Darrow being interviewed by some over zealous newsreporter. He was holding his corgi, the one that had run off during the festival, and it was trying to lick the microphone like it was an ice cream. This seemed to frustrate the reporter, who kept moving the microphone away from her but having to bring it back to catch Tony’s words.
Why she would go through the effort was a mystery, as he clearly had nothing to say. He was standing awkwardly, almost using Dogby as a shield to keep them from asking him stupid questions. Robert felt anger flare in his chest when Tony grinned stupidly, saying something that made the woman reporter laugh. He had an easy air about him, and even though the situation was tense, he seemed to be able to exude a natural calm. Experience and age brought those abilities, Robert supposed. He knew very little about Tony’s life, but he must be around people a lot at the library.
Tony was spouting off something about the safety of the city, and how important it was to be prepared and aware, and to not let paranoia get the better of them. Robert hated the man, just by the seeing him now. He did not know very much about him, after all, but that was the whole point, was it not? He had not been hurt by the bats, that much was clear. One small hope, dashed. Robert took a breath and turned off the TV, not wanting to hear any more from him. Put off from his dinner, Robert put it to the side and growled to himself, tenting his fingers and leaning back in his chair while he mused.
Tonight was just a reminder that he needed to stay on task. Maybe he was getting too distracted by playing, but hunting people and adding things to his collection of starseeds and artifacts. He needed to train, to get more power. He needed to work harder, so he could destroy his brother as thoroughly as he could. Pay him back for all the years of darkness and sorrow he’d left Robert with. Just existing had been a nightmare, but he was not going to let it go without paying it back in spades.
