Time had seemed to fly by after Dex had found out that Shade was pregnant. It had been a rush of working harder for more coin, finding a house they could call their own, making sure Shade was happy and healthy, doctor's visits, new purchases, and late nights wondering if he would be good enough for the children. Then the babies had arrived, and life got even busier. There was so much to learn!
Still so much to learn.
Dex sat up in a chair, watching his son crawling around. Seeing the babe explore the world was a joy! Despite the days going by, he still woke up shocked every day that he was a father. "Before we know it, they'll be trying to run out the door to play on their own," he mused, looking over at Shade with a little smirk. Goodness, it was a worrisome thought... but that was a while yet.

Koril crawled along the floor making nonsensical noises quite contently. He picked up a little stuffed animal, a bushi, and promptly stuck the head into his mouth. He giggled and chewed the soft fabric, looking over at the sound of his father's voice. Recognizing that, he smiled around the plush animal and waved his little fingers.

It seemed only yesterday that they had come to Matori for their wedding ceremony, but already enough time had passed for them to not only build a small home but to also have brought children into this world. Leaning against her mate's chair, Shadiya watched her babies with a glimmer of amusement. "You think? At this rate that may even happen tomorrow." She teased lightly, "Does it scare you, papa?" She looked towards Dexurn before reaching down to squeeze his hand, "Afraid of all the trouble our little ones will cause?"
She glanced towards the babies again with a small smile. It seemed currently most of the chaos was just from her and Dexurn attempting to adjust to life as parents. So far that had resulted in some pretty humorous if not messy stories.

Watching her brother with a narrowed gaze of a predator, Kyril waited until he was distracted enough by their papa. Crawling stealthily - well in her youngling mind stealthily enough- towards her brother the little girl reached out with her own fingers to grab at the bushi's feet with a smile. Maybe she could get this just yet! Of course she already had another stuffed animal, a snaptrotter, in her own hands but the girl was working towards building her army of animals to attack Koril.

Dex wrinkled his nose at the playful tease. That had turned on him swiftly. "Actually, it does," he admitted. Papa... To think that title applied to him now... Shifting, he pulled Shadiya into his lap and squeezed her gently. "Everything worries me now that they're moving around like that."

Sitting as innocent as a lamb, watching his parents contently, Koril squeaked when he felt the tug at his toy. He gave a little growl, and then crawled toward his sister, the toy still clamped in his jaw. To fight back, he simply climbed over his sibling, essentially trying to lie on her.

"Aww." Shadiya settled into her lover's lap and gave him a squeeze in return, "I'm sure it'll be fine. I doubt they'll be going on any big adventures away from us anytime soon." She smiled as she reached up to ruffle Dexurn's hair, "I'm mostly worried about the messes we'll be cleaning up in our own home with these brave little guys marching all over the place now."

Pursing her lips into a pout, Kyril tugged again at the toy. She was so close to ownership! Soon the bushi could join her ranks and defend their home from the shadow creatures under the bed! But her brother was being such a pain! Gaze widening, Kyril let out a huff of surprised air as her brother wiggled onto her.
A bit dazed she allowed him to linger there a bit before she ferociously began to wiggle her own body beneath his. Almost like a boat rocking on the ocean. She would find freedom!

Dex smiled lightly, nuzzling Shade's shoulder. They were still just his little ones yet. Adventures would only be with either himself or Shade present! "They did make big enough messes when they were only able to sit in one spot!" he agreed with a laugh. Head lifting, he gave a little sniff and wrinkled his nose. "Speaking of which..."

Koril held tight to his toy, even as he rolled off from all the wiggling his sister was doing. Giggling happily, he rolled onto his stomach. There, he paused, his face scrunching up a little bit while his body did a little work. Releasing the bushi, he looked down and pulling at his diaper wrapping with distaste.

"Oh don't remind me. Now the whole house..." Shadiya trailed off as Dexurn paused, "Oh no." The woman turned her gaze away from her lover and towards her babies, "Sooo....time to prove that we can uh clean up a bit, right?"
Admittedly she could easily dance in front o f a crowd of strangers without a sweat, but learning how to take care of babies made her a hundred times as nervous. Still, it was something that had to be done. Taking a deep breath, Shadiya moved her legs from Dexurn's lap so that she could stand. "Now who is the culprit?"

Pouting at the loss of her potential comrade, Kyril almost moved in for another sneak attack before a smell caught her attention. Crinkling her nose the little one let out a soft whine before moving forward as if to inspect her brother as well...

Dex slowly stood after Shade got up. It seemed like such times were becoming greater battles as the children grew more mobile. Looking between the two, he couldn't help smirking lightly. "At least it's usually easy to tell who did it," he mused, walking over to pick Kyril up, looking over to Shade with a smirk. "I'll keep her busy while you get Koril changed, eh?"

Koril was not one to shy away from changing time. As his parents walked over, he flopped onto his side to pull a little more vigorously at the cloth covering him. He wanted the stinky, uncomfortable thing off!

Shadiya pursed her lips, "I feel as if I somehow got the trickier of the two jobs." She found herself teasing before walking towards her son, "Oh baby, no. Let momma get that for you." The words still felt strange coming from her lips, but the dancer wasted no time in bending down to pick up her son. She had an extra cloth, but she needed to get him to the table first.
Humming softly under her breath the woman cradled her son before walking towards where a small side table rested in the corner. It was there that she would lay him down and begin trying to fiddle with the cloth...
