Prompt 1: October is halfway over and that means one thing: Halloween! Shops are decorating, neighbors are covering their homes in fake spiderwebs, and pumpkin patches are showing up everywhere! Some neighbors seem to be avoiding the holiday and those have become targets for a few pranks. So what are you doing to get ready for Halloween Night?

Quinn sighed as he walked in the park, or more accurately, was dragged. His cat, a savannah named Isis, was currently bouncing around on the end of her leash. First going one way, then another. Never stopping for more than a few moments before she was on to the next thing, towing Quinn along behind her like an errant toy. Quinn didn't mind too much since he needed the fresh air. Spending so much time either at work or holed up in his apartment meant he didn't get out much any more and that chafed. He use to adore going to parties, setting up games to play with friends, skating after hours in the local skate park, Hell, he even liked patrolling. But he was an adult who had responsibilities. He couldn't just put his work down and go charging off into the night. He needed to grow up and knuckle down, he had a year left of school and his final project would determine if he graduated or not. He didn't have time for shenanigans. Damn it. Being an adult sucked a**.

Quinn sighed again, he watched as kids ran around playing, a sad kind of smile flashing across his face as he watched them. It would be nice to be that carefree again. Soon they would be enjoying a night of candy and parties. He loved Halloween, at least he use too.

October 31 marked the night that Quinn was introduced to the magic filled war, the war he had been back burnering for a little while. Only patrolling occasionally. Rarely actually powering up anymore, at least since he came back to the city. He wasn't planning on doing anything to mark the day. Not patrolling. Not parting. Not even a little cupcake with a plastic spider ring and orange icing. He had been planning on working on schoolwork… he had been. Now he had to decide. He had to decide if he would be going to a teammates party or stay at home.

Neither really appealed to him. Yeah it's a party but the host… the host was a knight that Quinn had fought when he was going through a hard time. He was the knight Quinn had tried to kill, at least for a few moments. He was the knight who cared for Delilah just as much as Quinn did. And he was the only one Quinn had yet to apologize to. The young man had at least seen everyone else, made general apologies, in some cases did specific ones, but when it came to this particular knight… Quinn had been avoiding it.

Not actively, but he had been busy. Busy with work, busy with school, busy with family. Busy. Busy. Busy. But it looked like he couldn't avoid it any more. He had to face him. Quinn had to so now he actually had to figure out what exactly ‘dark macabre’ meant. “Isis, time to head back. Daddy needs to go get a Halloween costume,” Quinn called out to the cat who was currently inspecting a bush, for what he didn’t know… was almost afraid to ask. He just hoped it wasn’t a squirrel. Last time it was a squirrel she yanked the leash right out of his hand and nearly got them both hit by a car, it was why he now had a secondary clasp hooked to his belt. He really didn’t want to end up pants by his cat. “Isis.” His voice held warning, this time the cat looked back at him and chirped.

It took longer than it should have to make it back to his place but that was to be expected. His cat had the curiosity of a very mobile two year old and the intelligence of a five year old or something like that. But he did make it back only to scoop up his bag and camera and head out the door again. No point in wasting the afternoon looking for a costume without getting some good ideas for his final.

To the mall!
