Forelourne
I used to be OBSESSED with the original Guild Wars years ago, had my first main Ranger/Elementalist, then my more successful Assassin/Necromancer that I did a lot of PVP with and tons of raids/farming. I would really like to give GW2 a try since I finally have a desktop again and can do it, just haven't gotten around to it.
So in other words: not yet, but I may be interested in the future! What kind of Halloween events are going on? Do they still give you a pet thing periodically?
For Halloween events we still have Mad King says, we have a labrynth filled with enemies to fight for candy corn and other Halloween themed treats (sort of replaces the Grenth quest but it isn't quest based and it's more fun in my opinion), and there is a clock tower jumping puzzle. I haven't beaten the jumping puzzle yet, but I still try.
If you mean miniatures, yes, and it is greatly improved. For one they have the common ones that are easy to get and rarer ones that are harder to find. You can get them through certain events, birthday gifts, progress in certain game types (there's PvP currency, WvW currency, "kharma," "laurels," etc), achievements, and more. You can get a mini chinese dragon if you set up an optional security thing for your game that helps keep you from getting hacked. The security thing is free, they explain that on their site too.
I was really into GW1 as well. I bought GW2 and almost immediately became even more dedicated to the game than I was in GW1 because there is so much more to do. It does have some flaws though, like you can't dual class anymore. I was a warrior monk, but their Guardian class is similar to that so that became my new main.
However, when I went back to GW1 I found allot of people who loved GW1 absolutely hated GW2 so they refused to buy it. Now GW2 is free to play so you can give it a shot to see how you feel about it. Plus, any progress you made in GW1 transfers over as benefits in the form of armor skins, weapon skins, possibly pets and titles depending on how much progress you made in GW1. So that's pretty cool.
If you decide to join, I play on the Eradon Terrace server. Queen Ithinari is my main's name.
