The evening was still young, and that meant things were just now really picking up at the bar. A few months ago, Zack would have been delighted, and playing up all his charm. Right now, he was managing his facade, but there were a million things he’d rather be doing.
Still, he needed to get paid, and losing this job would have been a damn shame.
Though he was moving between a few patrons, he still managed to seem like he had time to talk to everyone. He was dressed nicely, for a guy working in a bar; his usual work attire consisted of a clean cut shirt, tie, and suspenders, fresh black slacks, and a black apron where he was stashing all of his necessities.
The bar itself was a comfortable little place, with a few tables and booths, and several empty seats at the bar. It was lit dimly and there was soft music playing in the background. There was some art on the walls and some lava lamps decorating the area, but the important thing was that it was clean--and they must have been doing something right to have so many people sticking around.
Zack had his hair tied in a low ponytail and offered smile to every new patron; even when his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of youma, he was good at looking like everything was going well.
One of the perks of being a great liar.quite uneventful I AM SORRY THIS START IS SO LAME ;;

It'd been a while since he'd last drank alcohol.
With a neutral expression and dull eyes, Aaron entered the nice looking establishment, finding it surprising how hard it'd been to find a place where they sold alcohol. In his old town, sticking a cup out and yelling booze was usually enough to either get a hard smack from a nearby a*****e, or some nice beer in their poured in their cup. Here, there wasn't much of a street life, and while there seemed to be plenty of bars, not many had the ambiance he was searching for. This place did. It wasn't too flashy, wasn't too simple, had a bar near the front, right where he wanted. Aaron slid into a chair.
Tonight was a celebratory night.
Tonight, Aaron had officially moved in. Goodbye, old home, hello Destiny City. He hadn't been that pleased at first, but he'd warmed up to the idea, and now that he had a home and an apartment and a job, Aaron felt like a little celebration was in order. Just a drink, nothing too spiffy, somewhere he could relax. He offered no smile to the barman, merely raising a gloved finger to let it be known he wanted a drink. "I'd like a gin and tonic, please."
Kyuseisha no Hikari sorry this took so long + if it's not enough to respond to please lmk!!

Zack found himself having a decent amount of free time tonight; it wasn't that the bar wasn't busy enough to keep him doing thing, it was just that everyone who came in either had their own company or weren't his type.
"Gin and Tonic?" he parroted, as if he'd misheard. He moved effortlessly, though, already preparing the drink. He had the ice in the glass almost instantly; the liquid was quick to follow "I have to say, these are usually more popular with our older patrons. Rough day at work, or...?" he prompted, finishing the drink with a lime wedge before sliding it over.

Aaron raised an eyebrow, obviously unimpressed. Either he was attempting to make small talk, or he really was an idiot. Aaron tried not to let his slight irritation show. "Gin and tonic." He said firmly, watching his hands as he began to work his magic. He watched, and glanced up as he actually started to talk, unprompted. Aaron released a small sigh, almost exasperated. "What can I say, I'm old fashioned. No, this is a celebratory drink." He stated blandly, lifting the drink to his lips and taking a good, sturdy gulp. He sighed, enjoying the warmth crawling down his throat, pooling in his stomach. He released a hard sigh. "I just finished moving in." He explained, after a long pause. For some reason, he was feeling a little chatty tonight, but it probably wouldn't last long. He wasn't used to talking to people.
Kyuseisha no Hikari lays on side again, sorry for the lateness!!!!! *sorry for double quote!

Zack nodded. "Oh, congratulations. You new to the city or just the area?"
Bartending was about more than just making and serving drinks; you were supposed to be able to read the patrons, and give them what they wanted. If he wanted company, he was supposed to lend an ear as much as he could. If he wanted solitude, bug off.
Some people were harder to read than others, and he was still trying to make up his mind about Aaron.
Either way, it was too quiet already in this place and Zack was going out of his mind. He'd keep the conversation going as long as he could.quite uneventful <3 (i feel so bad i forgot what this was going to be /sob IS THIS JUST CIVS OR WAS THERE SOME NEGA STUFF GOING TO HAPPEN ; i am good with anything but wanted to make sure ;v; )

Aaron gulped down more of the drink, uncaring for the burning in his chest. He eyed the cup carefully before looking up at the other with dull eyes. "New to the city." He answered finally, dropping his chin into his gloved hand and tapping the cup lightly. "New job offer, partial escape from my hometown." He murmured, mouth mostly covered by his hand. He looked pensive. "You move here too?" He seemed slightly interested, something uncommon for Aaron. It wasn't normal for Aaron to want to talk to another person, then again, it wasn't normal for Aaron to be drinking in the first place.
Kyuseisha no Hikari haha its no problem, it has been a while!! both actually! civs meeting and aaron drinking a little too much + zack corrupting him into agate!! (if you're still ok with that!!)

"Nah," Zack answered earnestly. "I've only ever moved from the suburbs, but I've lived in Destiny City all my life. Here--a 'Welcome to Destiny City' drink."
He reached behind the bar and prepared another drink. "On the house," he clarified before sliding it towards Aaron. "A lot of people come here to escape somewhere else. I have to say--you picked a good place to escape to. Destiny City's always got something happening. What job'd you move out here for?"
A part of him was genuinely interest, aside from just boredom. He hadn't ever really been outside of Destiny City, sans a few vacations or trips to see distant relatives. Destiny City had just about everything, so he told himself he couldn't really complain.
Didn't stop him from being interested, though.quite uneventful No, plan still sounds great to me! 8D I just wanted to make sure!
