Hatori had met Raeanne and her partner a few weeks back at a local cafe that Raeanne's partner worked at. They'd gotten talking for a while, something Hatori didn't usually do but for whatever reason, they'd actually felt like doing it that day. Plus they didn't have any homework, so why not kill a few hours talking to some people they'd probably never run into again?
At least, that was what they'd thought in the beginning. The topic of imbuing came up- Raeaenne and Micky wanted to imbue, but imbuing with just two people was pretty exhausting. Hatori did not care about kids or really having them, but it was expected... right? You go to grade school, graduate and go to university, get a degree, find a partner or two, and then settle down and have kids. Those were the supposed main life goals that everyone was supposed to fulfill.
Without really thinking about it they offered to help- they just didn't want anything to do with the kids was the only catch. It would be up to Raeanne and Micky to decide what to do with the third stone, but as far as they were concerned this just ticked off the "have kids" box on the list of Life Things they were supposed to do, never mind that it was almost October.
Besides, doing it this way pretty much guaranteed the stones wouldn't get awakened in October, right?
