Quote:
The city was quiet. That wasn’t too unusual for it being so late at night but it also didn’t help that summer was fading and soon school would start. The plague of all children, that dreaded place… school. Not that Tortuga cared one way or another. He just had to worry about the traffic that would inevitably pick up once school started. Even the weather wasn’t cooperating with the calendar since it was still muggy out.

The redheaded knight sighed as he shifted from his position on a random rooftop. The heat wasn’t too bad, compared to just a few weeks ago, but it was so damp out it was almost like swimming in air. At least it wasn’t raining. With another sigh, he knew he had to actually go out and really patrol rather than lounging on the rooftop waiting for something to happen, Tortuga slung the small black bag across his back and made his way to the next roof.

For the past several weeks he had been taking a small bundle of bandages, alcohol wipes, and antiseptic out with him as he learned the streets of his city. Or at least the area around his apartment and firehouse. The page had been taking those bags and finding out of the way locations to stash them in need of emergency, noting the location in a small notebook using a shorthand he made up. Hopefully his family were passing the information on since he didn’t have a direct way of doing it himself, at least they were aware of them and knew where they were. Hell his niece, although technically she wasn’t, had already used one which Tortuga had already replaced. He didn’t know how he felt about that actually. Glad that it was there when she needed it…. Yet really peeved that she needed it. Granted it wasn’t surprising that she would need it eventually since she seemed to get in more scrapes than a normal person let alone as a senshi.

The page realized he had been wool gathering as a siren blared in the distance, snapping him from his thoughts. “Bah Humbug,” He ran his hand through his hair and stomped over to a shadowed corner of the roof. A spot hidden by the various units situated on the tar and stone covered space. Using a flashlight he checked for the little bag he had left there… one that was missing. “Did someone use it? Or just find it?” The questions were more rhetorical and were muttered quietly as he settled down on his haunches, sitting on his heels, double checking his bag. He might as well make sure everything was there before hiding it in the same place.

Quote:
Muggy was one way of putting it, the senshi of vampires would say it was unbearable. She didn’t care for such weather, though she did like the summer and many things which came with it. She did not like the muggy, oppressive, heat that made it hard to breath and made the feel of skin on skin uncomfortable just left a person feeling dirty no matter what due to being constantly sweaty. Spring was much nicer, much more comfortable, it had a lot of what summer had but less heat.

She was out though, despite it all, as she felt she should be. She knew she wasn’t the most active senshi, there was no way she could deny that, but she was working on it - had to get more active. It just...wasn’t easy. This wasn’t her scene, fighting and war and hurting people and being hurt. But there was a purpose to it - a reason...and a need. Also she might be a super senshi now and that duty came with that, sort of like when a person got a promotion at work. She didn’t feel like she’d earned it, how could she have? But she was trying to earn it and perhaps that was why it had happened? That kick which she needed? She honestly didn’t know, didn’t understand, but it was there and she was here ...suffering the summer heat as she continued her patrol.

She had already taken out a youma, something she felt proud of as she hadn’t needed any help, now she was looking for any other youma she might be able to rid the city of. She really was trying to take on this senshi thing - trying to do her duty. So when she sensed a page she headed toward the energy signature, intending to see what they were doing and if they needed anything. It felt like it was just them and that, in her opinion, wasn’t the safest thing to be - alone. He was low ranked, not that she was all that high in rank, but to be alone was not the best idea.

Hopping from rooftop to rooftop she was fast approaching the signature and it’s owner, hoping she could find a partner for the night as she didn’t even like being alone. To be out alone was dangerous and she didn’t like unnecessary danger. If she was going to fulfill her duty as a senshi she had to accept the necessary, unavoidable, danger which came from it and she had. To be alone though...that was not necessary. She would fix that tonight if she could, if they would stay with her.

Quote:
Tortuga had just shoved the little bag in the hiding spot as he picked up a strong signature right at the edge of his detection. Not expecting it he had stat up and slammed his head into the side of some kind of metal unit, eliciting a hiss of pain from him. “Damn. That hurt.” Rubbing his head he climbed to his feet, as tempting as it was to kick the offending piece of machinery he did not, instead he ripped the stupid bandana off his head and did a quick check to see if he did more then just whack it while he waited for the approaching person.

He knew it was order, and senshi if he wasn’t mistaken, stronger than him but who wasn’t since he was still considered ‘basic’. He ‘studied’ the signature, waiting quietly as it got closer, it didn’t seem familiar but he also didn’t meet many outside his family and their group. Working alone wasn’t advisable for most and he spend a lot of his powered time, even civilian free time, practicing so he didn’t wander too much alone as Tortuga.

The page got a surprise though as the senshi got closer, he recognised her. Granted the last time he saw her she was on the ground after being pushed from the roof of a building. Injured and bleeding he had tried to help her, she had powered down in front of him, and he had learned that he wasn’t going crazy when his weapon showed up between them and she saw it too. That encounter had let him into this world of powers and fighting but oddly enough he was grateful towards the girl… after all if he hadn’t met her he might still be haunted by the whistle that was his weapon, believing he had gone mad or worse, that he had something really wrong with his brain.

Tortuga waved at her and waited until she got closer before he smiled and asked, “How have you been? No more falling off buildings yes?”

Quote:
Surprise crossed her features before she broke out into a bright smile. Raising a hand to wave the senshi of vampires made her approach quickly and without warning jumped him in a hug. She wasn’t one for handshakes, she was the sort of liked to hug her friends. She was, and always would be, a very social individual and that was, given the nature of vampires by most stories, ironic in a way to her. It didn’t fit her personality but that was ok, she looked cute in her outfit, though the colors were...well they could be different.

“No, no more of that. I’ve been good - you? You have been ok? You just became a knight that night and I didn’t know enough to help you. You’ve met others who have helped?” She asked, hoping beyond hope that he had met others, that he wasn’t clueless, that he had support and help and a team - something she needed to get. She felt bad for not being there, for not helping him, but she hadn’t been in a position to. She still wasn’t the most likely source of help but at least she was working on it now.

“I’m sorry about that night...that I wasn’t able to help you much...just tell you to take the whistle.” She added before stepping back and lowering herself onto her heels as she stood watching him, a bright smile in place.

Quote:
Tortuga could only stand there in surprise as the ruffly senshi glomped him. There really was no other way to describe the enthusiastic hug she gave him. He returned the embrace a lot more hesitantly, hugging wasn't really his forte. “I'm glad and I'm doing good.” He shrugged and gave her a pat on the shoulder before adding, “it's not your fault. You were in a pretty bad way but my,” he stumbled for a moment, “friend helped you out quite a bit. Turns out he is a knight too so he walked me through the basics.”

Xander’s secret wasn't his to give out. Especially since that would lead to the rest of the household who, like his doctor cousin, were order fighters in one form or another. It wasn't that he didn't trust the senshi in front of him but that it just didn't seem right to blow someone else’s cover. He didn't know what or if Xander had said anything to her after providing medical aid, tortuga had been dragged away by his younger cousin to get a crash course in the war he had somehow been drafted into.

“No worries. You actually did help a lot just telling me to pick this thing up.” He tapped the small brass whistle that he had around his neck, doing his best to assure the other fighter. “This thing had been appearing and disappearing for months before that night. I honestly thought I was going crazy because every time I tried to get someone else to look at it, it had poofed,” he made an explosion type gesture with his hands, “just disappeared. So you really did help just by proving I wasn't nuts.”

Quote:
“Yes, I got in over my head...I wasn't expecting that...though I’m not much of a fighter really.” She still wasn’t, it was something she perhaps should work on. She didn’t think she could handle too many more nights like the one where she met Tortuga and helped him awaken. Smiling as she stepped back, looking him over as if she might see any injuries or scars or anything he’d acquired since they first met. “That’s good. It’s good that someone was able to inform you….having a friend is good also...I’m not so lucky.” At least not that she was aware of.

Flattening her dress, or at least attempting to, she fiddled with one of the long ruffled sleeves of her uniform. Laughing at his words she felt herself smiling more and moving a few curls out of her face. “It’s understandable. I’m glad I could help, even if it was something so simple. At least you know you're not insane, though with all the magic going on I’m sure you’ll find yourself thinking that from time to time from now on.” Though she had no idea on all the things which had happened in the city during the war thus far, she had no one to tell her and wasn’t as involved as she wanted to be.

She couldn’t fight and knew no one...and had no real confidence in herself being out like this alone, their first encounter was proof enough to that and only made her feel worse. But she needed to do more...especially now. At least she felt like she did...but where to start? It felt like that first day in school...back when you were just starting kindergarten and knew no one and knew nothing. So empty and just a drift and with nor paddle...she wondered if she wasn’t missing the boat as well at times.

She was a senshi though, a super senshi, so she figured she at least had the boat. She was just missing the paddles.

Quote:
“I don’t think anyone would expect being tossed off a roof.” Tortuga tried to smile in a reassuring manner, he didn’t really know how to handle females in distress and he really didn’t want her to freaking out on him. “As for fighting, I’m more of a healer myself but everyone should know at least one good punch.” He mimed a right hook but added, “Although a knee to the family jewels works wonders as well.” His head cocked to the side as he tried to process what she said about not having a friend, it seemed rather surprising that she wouldn’t have a network of others to contact in case help was needed. “Yeah well if you got the floor wiped with your butt by someone significantly younger you might not be too worried about that.” Comedy seemed the way to go as he got a laugh from her.

Waving away her insistence that maybe the insanity had just begun Tortuga shrugged in an exaggerated manner, the better to keep things in the laughter side of things. “As long as I’m not the only one seeing the pink elephants then it’s all good. It’s only when your the only ones seeing the elephants on parade that it becomes a worrisome issue. Besides when a grown man is afraid of his own shower because a little metal whistle keeps showing up while he is scrubbing down… there is a issue.” He had to squish the urge to start humming the song from Dumbo, Pink Elephants on Parade, but he was able to. Instead he pulled the head scarf off and did an exaggerated bow, “I don’t think we were ever properly introduced not that there really was any time to do so. Tortuga, page of Jupiter, EMT and noob at your service.”

Quote:
“No, most wouldn’t.” But in this war she suspected she should expect that and more - anything really. This was a war and it had the added aspect of magic, which likely made it even more dangerous and more likely for anything to happen. I mean the laws of nature and such were already being broken, so why not other things as well? “That would work, though I don’t think youma have that area to hit. But yes, a good hit anywhere would work on them.” At least as far as she could tell, though she mostly used her magic and relied on it in order to get out of situations.

She really had to work on fighting and sticking around - dealing with things. She needed to live up to her new rank.,..and what she was senshi of...she supposed.

“Pink elephants? Do they happen to be wearing tutu’s?” She questioned smiling, hands on her hips, as she looked up at the red haired knight. “And I suppose it’s alright if everyone is seeing the same delusion.” She added with more of a smile, brighter. “And really? You were scared of your shower...that is a bit troublesome. I really am glad I was able to clear up the issue then.” She said honestly, she was glad. She couldn’t imagine being haunted by an item, and thinking your were the only one seeing it. How horrid that must have been for him! She could only imagine thinking you were losing it and not being able to tell anyone, for many reasons.

Shaking her head she smiled once more as he introduced himself. Doing something of a small curtsey she did the same. “Super sailor Nephthys senshi of Vampires. Other than that - just a normal student at DCU. Also, still a noob mostly.”

Quote:
“The eyes are also good. I'm guessing youma would also have issues if you poke their eyes ala three stooges.” Tortuga tried to do the whole hand gesture and ‘whoop, whoop, whoop’ sound that they did as well. It wasn't quite up to the stooge standard but it passed mustard, besides the advice was valid. Going for the eyes of the family jewels were both good street fighting tactic, it had him wondering though just how much fighting knowledge the senshi in front of him had though. Tortuga had been known to get into a few fist fights so he at least knew something, his cousin was also teaching him stuff but that seemed more like she was just beating his a** because she could.

With a snort and a shake of his head Tortuga couldn’t help but laugh. “No. No tutus. Just pink. And man you have no idea. I spent a lot of time at work using their facilities.” He couldn’t help but laugh at his own fear now but at the time it was a serious issue. He had become so jumpy over seeing the whistle just the flash of gold had his heart racing in fear. He tripped when out running from a candy wrapper, flinched while driving because of a passing biker… luckily he was at a redlight. But it definitely showed him just how dangerous his ‘delusion’ was becoming. He really was glad to find out that he wasn’t insane, instead he was just drafted into a clandestine war.

“It's a pleasure to meet you Nephthys. It really is a nice surprise to run into you tonight, hopefully I haven’t delayed you from nightly rounds or really anything you were on your way to do.”

Quote:
Laughing at his three stooges impersonation she nodded her head. “Yes. I’m sure that would work. Though it might not help too much against one with more than two eyes.” Though it would certainly anger the youma and take out two eyes for some time, it wouldn’t fully blind such a youma. Where he was learning to fight she wasn’t, not really, she had been going by the idea of winging it - doing whatever came to mind off the fly. It wasn’t such a good thing but she really didn’t know anyone and hadn’t been that active of a senshi, she now saw the problem in that.

“It didn’t show up at your job? Well, that’s a lucky thing. I can’t imagine what would have happened if you couldn’t shower anywhere due to a whistle turning up.” She said giving him a teasing smile. She couldn’t go a day without a shower, she couldn’t imagine it, but to be scared to shower for days...It was a good thing he’d been able to wash up at work.

Shaking her head, quickly, a few times she smiled up at the other. “No, it’s fine. We could patrol together...I don’t know many other senshi or knights...I wouldn’t mind some company. Actually...I’d prefer it. It’s a bit lonely otherwise.” Which was why, perhaps, she avoided such things. There wasn’t some easy way to make friends in this war, unlike in school where you had classes and saw people in hallways. It also wasn’t like at a job where you all worked together and had a break room and such. This was harder...and she was failing to make friends…

Quote:
“They have more than two eyes?” He knew they came in all shapes and sizes but it was still hard for him to contemplate something not animal like. Tortuga hadn't run into a youma yet so even though he had been told about them his mind still wanted to put them in ‘conventional’ shapes. It never occurred to him that a youma could be a giant spider the size of a car, or an amalgamation of several creatures, or even an inanimate object given life like a trash can or a scarecrow. Sometimes seeing really is believing and sadly for the tall knight, since he hasn’t seen it he doesn’t believe it.

His curiosity faded though as Nephthys brought up the whistle showing up at his job. He felt a spurt of irritation, not at her but at the memories of those days. “Actually it showed up a lot, just never anywhere it wasn’t logical to show up. On counters, tables, hanging on a door knob. I thought my crewmates were messing with me.” He tried to shrug off the sting of anger he still felt at the laughs, jokes, jeers, and even sympathetic looks he received because of the stupid peice of metal. “Jokes are pretty common around the job when everything is quiet so I thought they were just playing a prank and just werent fessing up to it. Got called Fruit Loops for a long while until they tired of it and started to raz the new guy.” It also didn’t help that he stopped cooking when on duty as a way to curb their jokes. Apparently no one else in the firehouse had any desire to even try to cook a halfway decent meal. There had been several weeks of a lot of take out, burnt dinners, and grumpy firefighters before they learned their lesson and left Tortuga alone.

Taking a deep breath to help mentally shrug off the annoyance he had felt as a result of the haunting, “anyway. Yeah it was a good thing I was able to shower at work. As for patrolling together, that would be good. It would be nice to see what others think of this ‘war’ we have going on. Besides ‘it's dangerous to go alone!’” Games weren’t really his forte but Zelda was a pretty common cosplay so he knew a little bit about it. That famous phrase seemed pretty apt right then besides his ‘teacher’ beat the buddy system into his skull, or at least tried to. He still prefered to go it alone but he was aware of the dangers of hanging out all by yourself in this city at night. No matter how much Tortuga wanted to fly solo he wasn’t that kinda guy who would leave a woman alone in a dangerous situation.

Quote:
“Yeah. I’ve seen some that don’t look like any animal we know but rather a mix of parts. You don’t know what you’ll get when you sense one - you just know it’ll be a youma.” The senshi of vampires spoke while staring up at the other. “Some are tall - massive in size. Some are tiny as well, they make it hard to spot them.” While others you couldn’t miss, not even a blind person could miss some of these youma.

Listening to him talk about the whistle and how it had shown up at work, just in places which made sense, she felt for him. In a place like that, where he worked, with pranks being common he really must have felt bad - like they were pranking him and not letting up. That must have, at the time, caused some bad feelings. At least now he knew they hadn’t been pranking him - it was just...fate, or something like that. His fellow firefighters hadn’t been out to get him and drive him nuts, or laugh at him for falling for their pranks - making it all worse. “I’m glad you know they weren’t pranking you now. I can’t imagine just how much that impacted work with you and them.” She was glad they’d turned their attention away from the Jupiter knight and had focused on someone else, though she was sure the teasing and pranking there wasn’t much better.

“It would be nice to have people I can go with, just to have friends and people to talk to. But you are right, it is dangerous.” She didn’t know the quote he used, just thought he was stating the obvious. But she did throw out a quote of her own. “For the night is dark and full of terror.” Something from game of thrones, a show she had taken to watching as a friend of hers from high school was in love with the series. She had taken to watching it as well, at first just to share it in common with her friend and understand references. She had taken to liking it on her own shortly after, gaining a love for the world and emotions towards certain characters. Some she hated and others she thought were in need of a hug...or just someone to talk to.

She had gone back and watched from season one to the current season, as she had started only this past season seeing the show, and she had seen the character growth and understood them and that was when the various feelings for the characters had started. She had seen the struggles, the loss, the victories, and the hard battles both physically and emotionally that so many had gone through. She was considering getting the books and reading them, she knew the series and books were different in ways and she was curious.

Shaking herself from her thoughts, literally, the dark haired female motioned for them to go. “We should get going, standing about isn’t always good. It’s like a sitting target just waiting to get jumped upon.”

Quote:
Tortuga smiled and nodded, his crew was really happy with the meals he whipped up for an ‘I’m sorry I was an a**’ week. He had to concoct some story about how his family was messing with him and they got caught in the crossfire but since they got to stuff themselves on decent meals again no one was questioning the lie. As for the youma he will have to take her word for it because without seeing it himself it was kinda hard to believe. Seeing is believing after all.

His smile faded as she vocalized her aloneness in this war. It was one thing if he scrambled across the rooftops checking on medical supplies but it's different when a young girl, she couldn’t be old enough to drink… he even wondered if she was old enough to vote, was out here night after night making herself a target for all kinds of bottom feeders. He made a mental note to get her permission to pass her contact info on to his cousins, at least that way she would have someone else out here looking out for her. He might not have gotten her quote but he at least knew it was one, after watching so many shows it wasn’t hard to pick it up.

Swallowing down the offer to be her confidant, he wasn’t exactly the best person for the job nor was he someone she should really rely on in that way, Tortuga nodded. “Lead the way. I’ve got nothing else I’ve got to do tonight.” A subtle way of sticking around, at least for the night. Even if he didn’t think he was the best person to act as a friend and fighting partner it was all she had at the moment.

Quote:
Looking up at the knight she smiled and nodded her head. “Alright, then let's go.” Maybe they’d run into some youma, or an officer, and they could do something. She wasn’t the best for fighting, she really wasn’t that strong, but she had magic and she really did want to do something...to contribute to the war in a helpful way...other than just patrolling which felt a little less helpful.

Looking to the other, looking the other over for a moment, the senshi of vampires got a thoughtful look about her for a moment. “Do you know if, or how, senshi and knights can communicate? We have phones but knights have rings…So we can share information.” She hadn’t a clue on that, had never asked or looked into it. But it would be nice to have a potential contact in this mess of a war.

Turning back round she made her way off into the night to hunt for...well anything which was causing trouble and was of the Negaverse, be it youma or officer.

Quote:
Tortuga kept pace with the senshi, his eyes roving the darkness looking for anything out of place. His purple gaze flicked to her and then back again to the city when she asked her question. By no means was he an expert but he could at least answer that particular question, “as far as I understand it, yeah. It was explained to me but since I don’t have my ring yet I don’t really know how it works.” He absently rubs his fingers together, feeling the absence of a ring and experiencing a twinge of loss. He knew he needed to travel to his homeworld to find it. That the ring was an integral part of being a knight. It was a form of communication between knights as well as a symbol of being a fighter for order. The ‘upgrades’ that his family mentioned also seemed pretty useful as well, especially since he was stuck writing the locations of his medical bags down in a stupid little book.

But every time Tortuga tried to make that trip, tried to reach that ‘zen’ he need to feel that ‘something’ that would draw him through time and space, something interrupted. The wind in the trees, a cat screeching, a lady screaming at her old man, a siren blaring in the distance. It wasn’t because he was afraid of leaving the planet. It wasn’t because he was worried he wouldn’t make it, wouldn’t be able to return, or worse wouldn’t actually feel that little tug that connected him to Jupiter. It wasn’t that at all. He was a grown man, he had nothing to fear. Nothing at all.

Quote:
“That’s good, that there is a way for us to communicate..but it’s sad you don’t have your ring yet. If I could help I would.” She meant it. She would help if she could, and not just because he was out here with her tonight. It wasn’t even because he had saved her and given her the care she had needed. It was because it would help him and because she was hoping for a friend.

“I heard rings are found at wonders...I’ve only been to my homeworld once. I wound up in a big creepy house, like something out of a gothic horror movie.” Shuddering to show just how the place had bothered her. Given her sphere it shouldn’t be a surprise, something bright or pleasant...or anything other than what it was would be a surprise.

She did want to go back...just not alone. She wanted to explore and gain memories but the place creeped her out, like she expected something to jump out and get her. “Have you been to your wonder yet?” She asked, wondering what his wonder was, what it looked like. It was something to talk about as they patrolled, something to tie them together in conversation and perhaps form some sort of friendship?

Quote:
Tortuga kept his thoughts to himself, shrugging when Nephthys offered to help. He was an adult and would get around to doing it himself. Being self sufficient was something his dad taught him, that and the knowledge that as a guy he had to stand on his own two feet. It was bad enough that he was working with his family to be a better fighter but that was family, he couldn’t ask the young senshi next to him for help as well. He just couldn’t. “I’ll find it eventually. It’s not a big deal.”

A smile flashed across his face as he imagined the reaction that she had to such a place, “Munsters, Addams Family, or something more like Dark Shadows or the Haunted Mansion?” Tortuga glanced over at her for a brief moment, “Did you know that the Addams Family wall paper was pink in the black and white era? The whole living room, that iconic room, was bright and floral and totally not scary at all.” The strange, and a little out of place, trivia would help show the senshi that not everything was as scary as it seemed. After all if Morticia could put up pink wallpaper then her own homeworld couldn’t be that bad, could it? And if her homeworld really was then how bad was his own? She was all ruffles and lace, at least it seemed like it to him, granted it was pretty heavy on the black and red as the cross iconography but it was such a frilly outfit. His was just so sparse so just how bad did it reflect on his own place.

“Nope. I know where it is here on earth, some of its history and its place in popular fiction but the one on Jupiter.” Again he shrugged, keeping his worries and concerns behind a mask of indifference. “I just haven’t really found the time to do so. So what is your place like other then big and creepy? Any Lurches manning the front door? Or Grandpa in the basement?” Best way to keep her off his wonder was to get her talking about her own.

Quote:
“Adams family….or Munsters...just without anyone or anything living. Not sure which one more. I don’t know the last two.” She commented before shaking her head. “No, I wasn’t aware. It’s a good thing it was black and white, pink would have been very odd, given the nature of the show and family.” She couldn’t picture someone like Morticia approving of pink wallpaper, though what color would she have approved? Black would have been a bit much...and yet somehow fitting it seemed.

“I’m pretty sure I saw very old blood on a wall, like a hand smear.” She added. So maybe a bit more than both shows...maybe not though. She really wasn’t sure about her whole planet, as she hadn’t looked beyond a room or two and a hallway, she’d sort of taken off shortly into the trip. She did want to go back, she really did, but she was sort of nervous and scared even though she knew she would be the only living thing there. Maybe that was why her aversion to the place? Because if anything happened she would be alone? Because of that creepy feeling, despite her knowledge that nothing was alive there.

“No...creepy narrow hallway...large entrance room with a set of large stairs leading up to the second floor. I don’t remember much else. I remember things being a mess and a creepy feeling about the whole place. It had a gothic sort of feel to it.” Which perhaps given her uniform wasn’t a surprise? Or maybe it was? Over time she had sort of lost some of the clarity of memories but in it’s place was what her own mind had twisted and added in or changed a bit..to fill in the gaps. It wasn’t an uncommon for that to happen with people in general...it was a normal thing.

Quote:
“Well that's not too bad I guess,” Tortuga tried to keep things light, “After all the Adams family was pretty epic.” He paused in both thought and movement and glanced over at her. He knew she was younger and he tended to lean towards older shows but just how young is she? “Well Dark Shadows is a 60’s show that Johnny Depp just bombed in a remake movie and Disney’s Haunted Mansion? You know… ‘999 happy haunts here, but there's room for a thousand’?” Didn’t everybody think Disney when someone said ‘the Haunted Mansion’? He did but then again Disney was a large part of his musical repertoire. “Oddly enough they did a movie based on that ride, it bombed too.” He continued on his way, upping his pace just slightly to catch up with Nephthys, not that it was that hard with his long legs.

“Ok so yeah that's a little creepy but maybe it wasn’t blood. Could have been paint,” He didn’t really know enough about really old bloodstains, hell he didn’t really know about new stains either, at least with regards to leaving them alone. He knew how to clean them up but not what they would look like but he hoped for the senshi’s sake it was paint. Could centuries old blood still be smeared over the walls still? “Maybe there is a hidden spot under the stairs or some kind of secret hallway.” If she focused on the mystery of the place maybe she won’t be so scared of it. Not that he really had space to talk since he hasn’t even been to his place yet.

Quote:
“I wasn’t around for the first Dark Shadows and I didn’t watch the new one, I’d heard it was going to fail the original.” And while having nothing to compare it to, thus not knowing if it failed and possibly liking it, she had avoided it. Though she had seen the Johnny Depp Alice in Wonderland.

“Ohh, I’ve heard of that ride. I wasn’t aware there was a movie on it, an old or a new one.” She admitted while running her fingers through a few of the long curls she boasted. She really wished her hair was straight down her back, as it normally was, though it would be even longer than it was presently. She liked her long dark hair, even when people in school or in her family suggested she cut it short - like a bob or pixie cut.

“I don’t think so….it could have been though. But it is a bit creepy there, like a haunted house and you expect something to just jump out...and any sound gets to you.” That was part of what got to her, along with the mess and what she thought was a bloodstain. But his change was answered by a smile from her.

“Maybe, I wouldn’t be surprised actually. Hidden hallways and rooms...it seems like something which would fit right in actually.” She said trailing off and tapping her bottom lip. “That would be interesting...might, if nothing happened there, give a look into the world then better.” Which was an interesting thing, something which had her mind working now.

“Come on, let’s go. I wanna get home soon so let’s finish this patrol.” She didn’t want it to go on too much longer. She did want to get home. “I have classes in the morning.” So she wasn’t a teenager - a university student it seemed.

“It never hurts to see it and yeah with Eddie Murphy. They also did one for Tower of Terror and the Country Bear Jamboree. The only ride that got the movie treatment that did well was Pirates of the Caribbean.” Tortuga shrugged. He knew disney mostly because he liked their songs since they are great to sing along to but overall he was a show and movie buff so he knew his stuff. Keeping his mouth shut he just nodded along with her comments about her creepy wonder. At least she seemed to take to the idea of hidden rooms as a good reason to explore more, to stop being so freaked out by her wonder.

“Alright. You lead the way. I’ll follow.” He put his words into practice, keeping up with the senshi as they started their patrol in earnest. He was just starting to get the hang of this thing, she at least had some ideas, better for her to take the lead and he could step in as necessary. He wasn’t someone who liked taking spotlight anyway, he was more of a shadows kind of guy. “Can’t have you be late for class now can we.”
