Quote: text to: only in emergenciesHello. You probably don't recognize this number. I'm sorry if this seems sort of creepy? Especially since it's, what, close to 4am over there? ... This is Jamie, right?

Cross-ContinentalIt was pretty damn close to 4am and Jamie had been sleeping, but it was a light, loose sleep. It barely counted.Quote: Text to: xxx-xxx-xxxxhuh this is jamie um how did you get my number It would've been creepy, but Jamie was tired.

Honestly, Oliver was exhausted. He watched the minute hand ticking on his phone, ignored the slow gentle breathing of the warm body next to him, waited anxiously for reply. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in whenever Jamie finally responded.
Quote: text to: only in emergenciesAh, you're awake. Or maybe I woke you? I'm sorry for that. I'll explain myself, but I had a question. I don't mean to be intrusive of course, but do you know someone named Shiloh?

Cross-ContinentalQuote: Text to: xxx-xxx-xxxxi was awake i think Even so, Oliver's replies were considerably more eloquent than Jamie's. The question did give him pause, though, and he tried to wake up enough to worry about the implication.Quote: Text to: xxx-xxx-xxxxi know shiloh yeah why

Rolling over, Ollie rubbed at his tired eyes. The warmth was tempted and he just wanted to close his eyes, but...
Quote: text to: only in emergenciesI haven't heard for him in quite some time. I took some of his contacts from his phone before I left. Just in case. He had been acting strange. Oliver took a deep breath, watching the screen.
Quote: text to: only in emergenciesHe's my brother.

Cross-ContinentalQuote: Text to: xxx-xxx-xxxxoh you're oliver It was honestly the best answer Jamie could manage immediately. In the room next door, Shiloh was presumably sleeping. Soundly or not was debatable, but he was there, the real Shiloh, back from hell. When Oliver mentioned he'd been acting strange, Jamie knew it was probably Beel.
Still, how did you explain that to someone? How could he tell Oliver his own twin probably didn't remember him?Quote: Text to: xxx-xxx-xxxxsome weird stuff happened that's prolly why he was acting that way he's he's okay tho kinda

Quote: text to: only in emergenciesYeah. I'm Oliver.
Quote: text to: only in emergenciesHe's still alive? That's a relief. I was worried he did something compromising. He started acting closed off again. I assumed it was his depression, but he had never cut me off like that before. Could you elaborate?

"What the ******** does that mean..." he asked aloud, eyes narrowing. Immediately he tensed, turning to see if his bedmate had woken up. Thankfully, he was a fairly deep sleeper.

Oliver squinted at his screen in the dark. He had half a mind to wake up the person next to him and ask if he was dreaming.

Cross-ContinentalThe response Oliver got wouldn't come in the form of text on a screen, though the answer would've been a resounding yes. Magic was something that had become like second nature to Jamie, a partner he slept next to every night and woke up with to face the day. Sometimes that was a good thing, sometimes not.
So no, his reply to Oliver was not with words. Instead he sent a picture, a dimly lit selfie by the light of the moon through the window. In it he had a rounder, reddish nose and long, furred ears.
